Bug#864241: RFS: pnmixer/0.7.2-1 -- Simple mixer application for system tray (original) (raw)

Hi Adam,

You can't close a bug by editing a past changelog entry. While this corrects the history, you still need to mail 829881-done@bugs.debian.org with the first line being "Version: 0.7-1".

Indeed, as you noticed I corrected a typo in the bug number, in an old changelog entry.

I will mail bugs.debian.org as you suggest.

On the other hand, an upload with two new changelog entries, while mildly unrecommended, is fine -- but it's good to remind the uploader that he or she needs to manually specify "-v0.7-1" when repacking the source as otherwise #854112 wouldn't get closed.

Hmm, I'm not sure to understand. Does that mean that only the last changelog entry is taken into account for closing bugs automatically ? And as a consequence, the uploader will have to close the bug manually ?

I also noticed you changed your name: s/é/e/ -- is this intentional? If not, you might want to correct this in a future version.

Yep, indeed it's intentional, I just dropped the accent from my name in my GPG key, and everywhere else, just to make my life easier. I didn't dare to change the previous Changelog entries for that, afraid it would be frowned upon, re-writing history is frowned upon in general ;)

Uploaded.

Great ! Thx !

Arnaud
