Radio broadcasting in Brasil began in 1919 (PRA8 Rádio Clube de Pernambuco, Recife). Rádio Nacional, now part of Empresa Brasil de Comunicação – EBC is the largest public radio network in the country. Broadcasting is regulated by Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações – ANATEL .
