El campeón fue Lucky-Goldstar Hwangso. Por otra parte, salió subcampeón Daewoo Royals. Six clubs prennent part au championnat qui prend la forme d'une poule unique où toutes les équipes se rencontrent six fois au cours de la saison. Il n'y a pas de club relégué en fin de saison, au vu du trop faible nombre de formations engagées dans la compétition. C'est le club des Lucky-Goldstar Hwangso qui remporte le titre de champion de Corée du Sud en terminant en tête du classement final, avec 4 points d'avance sur les Daewoo Royals. C'est le 2e titre de l'histoire du club. Le tenant du titre, les Yukong Kokkiri, ne termine qu'à la 4e place, à 11 points des Lucky-Goldstar. (fr) 1990년 한국프로축구대회는 1983년에 아시아 최초의 프로축구리그로 출범한 한국프로축구대회가 맞이하는 8번째 시즌이다. 1990년 한국프로축구대회는 3월 17일에 열린 대우 로얄즈 대 포항제철 아톰즈의 경기로 개막하여, 11월 3일에 열린 현대 호랑이 대 럭키금성 황소의 경기로 폐막하였다. 리그 구성원에 몇 가지 변화가 생겼다. 기존의 '광역 지역 연고제'가 폐지되고 단일 도시를 연고지로 한정하는 '도시 지역 연고제'로의 전환이 추진되었다. 그 결과 대우 로얄즈는 부산직할시를, 럭키금성 황소와 일화 천마는 서울특별시를, 포항제철 아톰즈는 포항시를, 현대 호랑이는 울산시를 새롭게 연고지로 삼게 되었다. 리그 방식은 전년 대회와 마찬가지로 단일 리그 제도로 진행되었다. 이에 따라 총 6개 구단이 모두 90경기를 벌였다.
