Dezember 2011 als Kandidaten registrieren lassen. Insgesamt hatten sich 5.300 Bewerber angemeldet, darunter 390 Frauen. The parliamentary election for the 9th Islamic Consultative Assembly, or Majlis, were held in Iran on Friday, 2 March 2012 with a second round on 4 May 2012 in those 65 districts where no candidate received 25% or more of the votes cast. More than 5,000 candidates registered but more than a third were disqualified by the Guardian Council leaving about 3,400 candidates to run for the 290 seat representing the 31 provinces. The election has been described by journalists and analysts "as a contest between" Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, with Khamenei supporters winning a large majority of seats. Iranian officials and state media have described the election as a sign of Iranians' trust in the Islamic Republic and a message to the West rejecting pressure over Iran's nuclear program. Although no final election turnout figures were released, state media emphasized that voter turnout was high. The parliament has "no direct control over key foreign and security policy matters" but some influence over those policies and coming elections. In the wake of the crushing of reformist protest against the 2009 election results, few if any reformist candidates were allowed by the Guardian Council to run. Les élections législatives iraniennes de 2012 ont eu lieu le 2 mars 2012 et le 4 mai 2012. Le processus d'enregistrement des candidats pour pouvoir postuler aux législatives a commencé le 24 décembre 2011. L'opposant Mehdi Karoubi dénonce ces élections qu'il considère comme factices en déclarant : « Les autorités veulent rééditer ce qu'elles ont fait lors de l'élection présidentielle de 2009 en disqualifiant les candidats (...), en bourrant les urnes avec de faux bulletins et en créant une atmosphère de peur à travers le pays ». Depuis les élections de 2009, le pouvoir iranien pèse régulièrement sur la presse dans le cadre des élections, en arrêtant de façon arbitraire des journalistes ; en 2012, 63 journalistes au moins, dont Marzieh Rasouli, étaient incarcérés sous la base d'accusations diverses (création de réseaux secrets à des fins de propagande, diffusion d'informations classifiées, collaboration avec des médias étrangers interdit ou avec des services de renseignement, etc). Environ 3 400 candidats sont en lice pour ce scrutin, l'élection est boycottée par les principaux mouvements de l'opposition réformatrice pour protester contre la répression qui a eu lieu après l'élection présidentielle de 2009. Le taux de participation serait supérieur à 60 % alors que 48 millions de personnes étaient appelées à participer. Les ultraconservateurs proches du guide suprême sont finalement les grands gagnants du scrutin. Pour le second tour, 65 des 290 sièges du Majlis sont à pourvoir. Les réformateurs n'obtiennent que deux sièges au second tour, ayant ainsi 21 sièges dans le nouveau Majlis contre 60 dans l'Assemblée sortante. Les deux principales alliances conservatrices en compétition, le Front uni des conservateurs (anti-Ahmadinejad) et le Front de la persistance de la révolution islamique (pro-Ahmadinejad), emportent quant à eux 44 sièges au second tour. Парламентские выборы в Иране 2012 года — выборы Исламского консультативного совета, или меджлиса 9-го созыва, были проведены 2 марта 2012 года (1-й тур) и 4 мая 2012 года (2-й тур прошёл в 65 округах, где ни один из кандидатов в первом туре не получил 25 % или более голосов). Первоначально было зарегистрировано более 5400 кандидатов, но более трети из них не было допущено до выборов Советом стражей конституции, таким образом, в выборах на 290 мест в меджлисе баллотировалось около 3200 кандидатов. Многие журналисты и аналитики расценивали эти выборы как соперничество между высшим руководителем Ирана Али Хаменеи и президентом Махмудом Ахмадинежадом, по итогам выборов большинство мест в парламенте получили сторонник Хаменеи. Иранские официальные лица и государственные СМИ Ирана расценили итоги выборов как знак доверия иранцев и реакцию на давление со стороны Запада в связи с реализацией ядерной программы Ирана.
