Beim Zensus 2011 lag die Einwohnerzahl bei 37.081. Die Stadt Bandipore liegt im Kaschmirtal 40 km nordnordwestlich von Srinagar am Fuße des Himalaya. Die Stadt liegt auf einer Höhe von 1607 m.
