Billy Talent je kanadská rocková skupina. Jejími členy jsou Benjamin Kowalewicz (zpěvák, frontman, textař), Ian D'Sa (kytarista, zpěvák), Jonathan Gallant (baskytarista, zpěvák) a Aaron Solowoniuk (bubeník). Na Billy Talent se přejmenovali až v roce 2001, do té doby vystupovali pod jménem Pezz. V České republice se proslavili především díky singlům "Surrender", "Red Flag" nebo "Fallen Leaves". Poprvé v Česku vystoupili 3. června 2007 v Praze jako předkapela skupiny My Chemical Romance. (cs)

Billy Talent is a Canadian rock band from Mississauga, Ontario. They formed in 1993 with lead vocalist Benjamin Kowalewicz, guitarist Ian D'Sa, bassist Jonathan Gallant, and drummer Aaron Solowoniuk. There have been no lineup changes, although Solowoniuk is currently taking a hiatus from the band due to a relapse of multiple sclerosis, and Jordan Hastings is currently filling in for him. In the 28 years since their inception, Billy Talent has sold well over a million physical albums in Canada alone and nearly 3 million albums internationally. Between 1995 and 2016, Billy Talent were the 27th-best-selling Canadian artist in Canada and among the top 10 best-selling Canadian bands in Canada. The band existed for almost a decade before mainstream success. The members met and played in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Secondary School under the name Pezz and remained underground in Toronto's indie music scene until 2001. The band renamed itself Billy Talent after running into legal trouble with the old name. It was then that Kowalewicz's connection with an employee of Warner Music Canada's A&R department landed the band a record deal and launched them into mainstream success. Since then, Billy Talent has made three multi-platinum records in Canada and continues to expand their success overseas; this included touring for 20 months supporting their second album. They released their third album, Billy Talent III, in 2009, and their fourth album, Dead Silence, in 2012. Dead Silence was followed up by a full UK tour throughout October and November 2012. To commemorate the longevity since the release of their first studio album, the band has released a greatest hits album entitled Hits in 2014. In 2015, they began to prepare material for their fifth studio album. Just before entering the studio, drummer Aaron Solowoniuk decided to sit out the recording sessions while he continued his longstanding battle with multiple sclerosis. Fellow Canadian Jordan Hastings was quickly recruited to play as Solowoniuk's studio stand-in, and, in early 2016, the group completed work on Afraid of Heights, which was released in July of that year. The band's most recent album is Crisis of Faith, released in January 2022. (en)

Billy Talent (antes conhecida como Pezz) é uma banda de punk rock canadense de Toronto, Ontário, formada em 1993.A banda é constituída por Benjamin Kowalewicz (vocalista), Ian D'sa (Guitarrista), Jonathan Gallant (Baixista), Aaron Solowoniuk (Baterista), Jordan Hastings (Baterista). A banda esteve com a formação original de Billy Talent até 2015, mas enquanto faziam o álbum Afraid of Heights Aaron Solowoniuk teve de se ausentar da Bateria porque a sua Esclerose Múltipla piorou e o seu estado de saúde não o permitia continuar. Aaron falou com a banda e decidiram que enquanto ele não recuperasse quem o substituiria seria Jordan Hastings, membro dos Alexisonfire e dos Say Yes. Por isso no álbum Afraid Of Heights Aaron apesar de ter escrito todas as partes da Bateria só gravou a bateria da Demo da música Leave Them All Behind. Durante a Afraid Of Heights tour Jordan tocou em todas as datas, em 2016 Aaron só tocou ao vivo a Surrender na última data em Varsóvia.A banda existiu por quase uma década antes de alcançar o sucesso. Os membros conheceram-se e tocaram na Our Lady of Mount Carmel Secondary School.Mudaram de Pezz para Billy Talent depois de um problema legal com o nome, não alteraram só o nome da banda mas também o tipo de música que tocavam.Com uma conexão de Ben a banda conseguiu um acordo com a Warner Music Canada e depois assinaram mais um acordo com a Atlantic Records. Under sin Europaturné 2007 gjorde bandet sin första spelning i Sverige, på en i stort sett fullsatt arena, Fryshuset i Stockholm, den 1 mars. De spelade också på Hultsfredsfestivalen 14 juni och på Pier Pressure i Göteborg 1 juli 2007. Billy Talent spelade en ny låt, "Turn Your Back", under sin spelning på . De släppte låten på Svenska Itunes 15 september 2008. Alla bandets intäkter från singeln går till Röda korset. Bandets fjärde studioalbum, det tredje under namnet Billy Talent, gavs ut i juli 2009. Albumet är producerat av Brendan O’Brien (tidigare AC/DC och Stone Temple Pilots) och en video till första singeln "Rusted From the Rain", regisserad av Wayne Isham (tidigare Metallica, Bon Jovi, Avenged Sevenfold), är klar samt videon till deras andra singel "Devil On My Shoulder".
