Die Demokratische Linke Bewegung (französisch Mouvement de la gauche démocratique au Liban, Kürzel MDG, arabisch حركة اليسار الديمقراطي, DMG Ḥarakat al-Yasār ad-Dīmuqrāṭī, Kürzel HYD) ist eine im September 2004 gegründeten politische Partei im Libanon.

It was founded in September 2004 by left-wing and center-left intellectuals and activists some of whom had previously split from the Lebanese Communist Party (LCP) while some were student activists from the "Independent Leftist Groups". The DLM affirms a European-style social democracy—but is open to all forms of leftism and encourages the development of a true secular state. The party operates under a decentralized framework that emphasizes diversity of thought for a progressive society in a liberal democratic environment. It participated in the 2005 Cedar Revolution, a wave of demonstrations against the Syrian occupation of Lebanon, and calls for correcting imbalanced relations with Syria. The DLM won its first parliamentary seat in Lebanon's 2005 elections representing the Tripoli district. On 2 June 2005, amid election rounds, Samir Kassir, a founder of the movement, was assassinated in a car bombing. Less than one month later, George Hawi, a former secretary general of the Lebanese Communist Party and an ally of the DLM, was killed in a similar car bombing in Beirut. In the 2009 elections, the party again won a single seat, instead representing the West Bekaa district. It is a member of the March 14 Alliance parliamentary coalition. Le mouvement est né de la rencontre entre l'ex-opposition interne du Parti communiste libanais (3 sous-tendances : Courant de la Gauche Démocratique/ porte-parole Elias Atallah ; Bloc Etudiant/ porte-paroles Ammar Abboud et Omar Harkous ; et le Group du Bureau Politique/ porte-parole Nadim Abdel Samad), les Groupes Independants de Gauche (étudiants et jeunes) et des intellectuels de gauche (hors-partis). Le MGD ne se présente pas en tant qu'avant-garde révolutionnaire, c'est pourquoi il n'est pas un parti purement marxiste, mais il n'est pas social-démocrate non plus (la majorité reste marxiste, avec des minorités post-marxiste, socialiste de gauche et trotskiste). C'est le seul parti politique libanais qui donne le droit à la formation de tendances internes (il y a deux tendances). Les élections internes au parti sont d'ailleurs à la proportionnelle. Le Mouvement de la gauche démocratique a aussi instauré un quota féminin de 30 % dans les instances dirigeantes de sa fédération dans la capitale. Le MGD, faisant partie du Bloc du 14 mars, fut représenté à l'assemblée nationale 2005-2009 par Elias Atallah. Il est actuellement représenté par le député Amine Wehbe. Le 2 juin 2005, dans un attentat à la voiture piégée, le journaliste cofondateur du MGD Samir Kassir est victime d'un attentat qui lui coûta la vie. Article détaillé : Samir Kassir. Została założona we wrześniu 2004 roku przez lewicowych intelektualistów oraz byłych członków Libańskiej Partii Komunistycznej, krytykujących obecność wojsk syryjskich w Libanie. Sekretarzem generalnym partii jest Elias Atallah, który w latach 2005-2009 reprezentował ją w parlamencie libańskim jako deputowany maronicki z Trypolisu. W wyborach do Zgromadzenia Narodowego w 2009 roku został wybrany tylko jeden przedstawiciel DRL, Amin Wehbe, kandydujący z szyickiego okręgu Zachodnie Bekaa-Raszaja. Członkowie Demokratycznego Ruchu Lewicy uczestniczyli w cedrowej rewolucji. Partia wchodzi obecnie w skład Sojuszu 14 Marca. 2 czerwca 2005 roku dziennikarz Samir Kassir, jeden z założycieli Demokratycznego Ruchu Lewicy zginął w wyniku wybuchu samochodu-pułapki.
