المبادرة العالمية للطب النفسي هي مؤسسة دولية لإصلاح الصحة النفسية شاركت في الحملة ضد إساءة استخدام الطب النفسي في اتحاد الجمهوريات الاشتراكية السوفياتية. تُصنّف تلك المنظمة كمنظمة غير حكومية.يقع مقره تلك المنظمة في هيلفرسوم، كما أن لديها مراكز إقليمية في تبليسي، وصوفيا، وفيلنيوس، ومكتب دولي في دوشنبه. تعتبر المبادرة العالمية للطب النفسي هي المساهم الرئيسي في تحسين الرعاية النفسية في بلدان الاتحاد السوفيتي السابق وكذلك أوروبا الوسطى والشرقية. وقد وسعت نطاق اهتماماتها، واعتبارًا من عام 2010، شملت مشاريعها بلدانًا عدة في آسيا وأفريقيا ومنطقة البحر الكاريبي. وتهنم المبادرة أيضًا بإساءة الاستغلال السياسي للطب النفسي في جميع أنحاء العالم ورصد حقوق الإنسان. Global Initiative on Psychiatry (GIP) is an international foundation for mental health reform which took part in the campaign against the political abuse of psychiatry in the USSR. The organization is of NGO type. Headquartered in Hilversum, GIP has regional centers in Tbilisi, Sofia, and Vilnius, and a country office in Dushanbe. GIP is a main contributor to improving psychiatric care in countries of the former Soviet Union as well as Central and Eastern Europe. It has expanded its focus and as of 2010 is including projects in Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. GIP also focuses on the political abuse of psychiatry throughout the world and human rights monitoring. (en)
L'Initiative globale en psychiatrie est une fondation internationale pour la réforme de la santé mentale qui a participé à la campagne contre les abus politiques de la psychiatrie en Union soviétique. L'organisation est de type ONG. Basé à Hilversum, le GIP a des centres régionaux à Tbilissi, Sofia, et Vilnius, et un bureau national à Douchanbé.
