حركة الشعب، حزب سياسي لبناني أسسه النائب السابق نجاح واكيم سنة 2000 صحبة عدة شخصيات تنتمي إلى التيار اليساري والقومي. أنتخب واكيم كرئيس للحركة ومن بين قياديها وأعضاء هيئة التنسيق فيها علي سرحان، إبراهيم الحلبي ورأفت زبداوي. عارضت الحركة السياسات الاقتصادية لرئيس الوزراء رفيق الحريري كما عارضت بشدة القانون الانتخابي لسنة 2000. في نوفمبر 2006 كونت الحركة مع تسعة أحزاب أخرى أهمها الحزب السوري القومي الاجتماعي، حزب البعث اللبناني، التنظيم الشعبي الناصري في لبنان وحركة المرابطون، «» بهدف «منع جر لبنان إلى حرب اهلية» و«بناء الدولة القوية العادلة». توترت علاقتها بحلفائها بعد مقاطعتهم للانتخابات الفرعية لدائرة بيروت الثانية التي شارك فيها وهزم مرشح الحركة إبراهيم الحلبي أمام مرشح تيار المستقبل محمد الأمين عيتاني. أدى ذلك إلى تعليق الحركة نشاطها ضمن المعارضة. ساندت الحركة بقوة حزب الله في حربه ضد إ

(ar) Le Mouvement du peuple est un parti politique libanais, créé en 2000, par l'ancien député Najah Wakim et un groupe d'intellectuels, de journalistes et de syndicalistes des mouvances de la gauche radicale et du nationalisme arabe. Le Mouvement du peuple est particulièrement opposé aux politiques économiques de Rafiq Hariri et du Courant du futur et adopte des positions alter-mondialistes, anti-américaines et anti-israéliennes radicales. Aujourd'hui, le Mouvement se place dans l'opposition libanaise contre la majorité parlementaire issue de l'Alliance du 14-Mars et construit une alliance avec le Hezbollah, le Courant patriotique libre et le Parti nationaliste social syrien, ainsi que d'autres partis libanais. Le Mouvement du peuple jouit d'une certaine popularité au sein de la jeunesse, notamment à l'université Américaine de Beyrouth, mais celle-ci est bien inférieure à celle enregistrée lors des premières années de l'existence du mouvement, au début des années 2000. Le Mouvement n'est plus représenté au Parlement depuis 2000, après l'échec de Wakim aux élections de 2005 et son retrait cinq ans plus tôt. (fr) The People's Movement of Lebanon (PML, Arabic: حركة الشعب Harakat Al-Shaeb, Arabic acronym HSB) is a democratic leftist political party with no seats in the Lebanese Parliament. The party's founder, Najah Wakim, won parliamentary representation in 1972, but boycotted elections in 2000 and failed to win afterward, leaving the party with no representation in government. The party was founded in 2000 and has recently elected a new leader, Ibrahim al-Halabi. It is a member of the March 8 Alliance governmentary coalition, and pushes democratic ideals while being popular with the younger, student generation, especially those at the American University of Beirut. The People's Movement opposes the economic policies of Rafik Hariri and his Future Movement and adopts radical alter-globalist, anti-American and anti-Israeli positions. The Movement is now part of the Lebanese opposition against the March 14 Alliance and is allied to Hezbollah, the Free Patriotic Movement, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, the Lebanese Communist Party, the Marada Movement and several other smaller parties.
