Le championnat du monde d'échecs aléatoires Fischer est organisé de manière officielle par la Fédération internationale des échecs depuis 2019. Les échecs aléatoires Fischer sont une variante du jeu d'échecs inventée dans les années 1990 par l'ancien champion du monde Bobby Fischer. Divers championnats du monde non officiels ont été organisés par différentes organisations depuis 1999. Les deux premiers championnats du monde officiels d'échecs aléatoires Fischer ont été remportés par Wesley So en novembre 2019 et par Hikaru Nakamura en octobre 2022.

Erst im Jahr 2018, ein Jahr vor Einführung der offiziellen Weltmeisterschaften seitens der FIDE, wurde wieder ein Zweikampf zwischen dem letzten (2009) Titelinhaber, Nakamura, und dem Schachweltmeister Magnus Carlsen ausgetragen, der von vielen als inoffizielle Weltmeisterschaft angesehen wurde.
