Der Ausdruck Interkulturelle Philosophie bezeichnet eine eigene Denkrichtung in der Philosophie, welche ausdrücklich verschiedene philosophische Kulturen berücksichtigt (Interkulturalität). Dabei können drei wichtige Argumentationslinien unterschieden werden: Methodisch wird dabei versucht, kein Begriffssystem zu privilegieren und partikulare hermeneutische Vorannahmen einzuklammern.

Methodisch wird dabei versucht, kein Begriffssystem zu privilegieren und partikulare hermeneutische Vorannahmen einzuklammern. Die Grundlegung einer interkulturellen Philosophie umfasst daher die Diskussion der sich aus einem solchen Ansatz ergebenden praktischen, methodischen, wissenschaftstheoretischen und erkenntnistheoretischen Probleme sowie der zugrundezulegenden Begriffe. Writing for the IEP, Ronnie Littlejohn distinguished comparative philosophy, "in which philosophers work on problems by intentionally setting into dialogue various sources from across cultural, linguistic, and philosophical streams", and world philosophy, "in which philosophers construct a philosophical system based on the fullness of global traditions of thought".
