Edward Smith-Stanley, 13th Earl of Derby was born on 21 April 1775.1 He was the son of Edward Smith-Stanley, 12th Earl of Derby and Lady Elizabeth Hamilton.1 He married Charlotte Margaret Hornby, daughter of Reverend Geoffrey Hornby and Lady Lucy Smith-Stanley, on 30 June 1798.1 He died on 30 June 1851 at age 76.1

Emma Caroline Bootle-Wilbraham was the daughter of Edward Bootle-Wilbraham, 1st Baron Skelmersdale and Mary Elizabeth Taylor.1,2 She married Edward Geoffrey Smith-Stanley, 14th Earl of Derby, son of Edward Smith-Stanley, 13th Earl of Derby and Charlotte Margaret Hornby, on 21 March 1825.1 She died on 26 April 1876.1
From 21 March 1825, her married name became Smith-Stanley.1 After her marriage, Hon. Emma Caroline Bootle-Wilbraham was styled as Countess of Derby on 30 June 1851.

Emma Caroline Bootle-Wilbraham.1 He married Lady Mary Catherine Sackville-West, daughter of George John Sackville-West, 5th Earl De La Warr and Elizabeth Sackville-West, Baroness Buckhurst of Buckhurst, on 5 July 1870.3,1 He died on 21 April 1893 at age 66, without issue.1
