The Commodore was in Baltrover.

* Olivebank may have returned to port(?) - she's also listed in the next convoy.

Antigone, cargo of 7800 tons grain, general and MT, was sunk by U-402 on May 11-1943, 3 died, 43 survived. Melrose Abbey rescued 4 survivors from the water, 2 from a raft and 37 from a lifeboat.
Grado, 1000 tons steel and 3000 tons lumber, was also sunk by U-402 that day. 16 men were picked up from a lifeboat by Melrose Abbey, while escorts rescued the remaining 20. There were no casualties - see my page about Grado.

Melrose Abbey (requisitioned in Febr.-1941) was on her 7th voyage as rescue vessel, having started out at Clyde with the westbound Convoy ON 176 on Apr. 1 (to Halifax Apr. 17), and returning from Halifax with SC 129 to Clyde, May 2–May 20-1943. Currie Line Ltd. also had a ship by this name.
