Aldúya was the Quenya name for this day, with the Sindarin equivalent being Orgaladhad. When the Númenóreans adopted the pattern of the Elves' week, they modified this day-name slightly, by changing it to Aldëa (Sindarin Orgaladh) and thus dedicating it specifically to Telperion, the White Tree that they held in special honour.
