A single Drúadan The name used in Rohan for an individual belonging to the Wild Men called Drúedain in Elvish. In the later Third Age, this secretive forest people were known to dwell only in the Drúadan Forest beyond Rohan's eastern borders, but in more ancient times they had ranged more widely, and their forms were sculpted on the winding road that led up to Dunharrow. The Rohirrim would have called one of these people a róg in their own tongue (with the plural being rógin). In common with others words and names from the language of the Rohirrim, Tolkien translates róg into a modernised form of Old English, developing the old word wása, 'wild man', into the more familiar 'Wose'.
