Named in honour of Marina Vsevolodovna Kuznetsova (1948-2015), Russian mineralogist, worked at IGEM RAS (Moscow).

The Cu analogue of ludwigite. Unique combination of elements: the only currently known natural borate of both Cu and Fe.
