Live Oaks and Dead Folks, Columbus Cemetery Tour, Columbus Texas. (original) (raw)
Now in its 7th year, the 2009 event will introduce you to a new group of former Columbusresidents. Photosshown here are from last years program.
Organizers were faced with the intimidating challenge of writing this years tour without the help of County Historian Bill Stein, whose untimely death earlier this year looked as if it might jeopardize the event.
But Bill Stein was full of surprises and when his desk revealed the pre-written scripts of most of this years participants, the sigh of relief was heard as far west as Bastropand as far east as Katy.
The tour is a thinking-persons Halloween and is more of a celebration of life.
The tour is highly recommended for three types of people:
1. Those who never attended a good cemetery tour.
2. Those who have attended a bad cemetery tour and regretted it.
3. People who plan to have a cemetery tour in their town and need to know how its done properly.
