Colonel William Randal Hamilton Beresford-Ash was born on 19 July 1859.1 He was the son of John Barré Beresford and Caroline Hamilton Ash.1 He married Lady Florence Marion Browne, daughter of Henry Ulick Browne, 5th Marquess of Sligo and Catherine Henrietta Dicken, on 23 October 1886.1 He died on 8 March 1938 at age 78.1
He was given the name of William Randal Hamilton Beresford at birth.1 In 1901 his name was legally changed to Colonel William Randal Hamilton Beresford-Ash when he assumed the additional surname and arms of Ash by Royal Licence.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He gained the ranks of Lieutenant-Colonel and Brevet Colonel in the service of the 1st Battalion, Royal Welch Fusiliers.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Derry in 1912.2 He lived at Ashbrook, County Londonderry, IrelandG.1

Lady Florence Marion Browne was born on 13 January 1863.2 She was the daughter of Henry Ulick Browne, 5th Marquess of Sligo and Catherine Henrietta Dicken.3,1 She married Colonel William Randal Hamilton Beresford-Ash, son of John Barré Beresford and Caroline Hamilton Ash, on 23 October 1886.1 She died on 22 November 1946 at age 83.1
From 23 October 1886, her married name became Beresford. From 1901, her married name became Beresford-Ash.1

Henry Ulick Browne, 5th Marquess of Sligo was born on 14 March 1831.2 He was the son of Howe Peter Browne, 2nd Marquess of Sligo and Lady Hester Catherine de Burgh.2 He married Catherine Henrietta Dicken, daughter of William Stephens Dicken, on 25 October 1855.2 He died on 24 February 1913 at age 81.2
He was with the Bengal Civil Service between 1851 and 1886.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Mayo.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Monteagle of Westport, co. Catherine Henrietta Dicken was the daughter of William Stephens Dicken.1 She married Henry Ulick Browne, 5th Marquess of Sligo, son of Howe Peter Browne, 2nd Marquess of Sligo and Lady Hester Catherine de Burgh, on 25 October 1855.1 She died on 26 November 1914.1
Her married name became Browne. After her marriage, Catherine Henrietta Dicken was styled as Marchioness of Sligo on 30 December 1903.
