About us
Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is the non-for-profit organisation that runs the annual Parade as well as a number of other events throughout the year. Our general objective is to raise the visibility of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex communities. We do that in many ways but the most notable of these is the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade. Mardi Gras hopes to inspire the world to love each other by celebrating the power and beauty of diversity.

- #SydneyMardiGras is excited to announce that American Express will continue as the Principal Partner of the 2025 and 2026 Festivals. Since becoming Principal Partner in 2021, American Express has provided crucial support to Sydney Mardi Gras to deliver three phenomenal festivals – including the landmark #SydneyWorldPride. Since then, American Express has deepened its relationships with our communities, partnering with organisations such as Out For Australia and Qtopia Sydney, achieving Gold in the #AWEI Index, and growing the reach and impact of its PRIDE+ network. These commitments are a part of American Express’ long history of supporting LGBTQIA+ communities – making the extension of this partnership a natural fit as we march towards not just our 47th year, but our milestone 50th year. - This afternoon ACON and Pride in Diversity hosted the Australian LGBTQ Inclusion Awards, recognition of the strides that organisations across Australia have taken to be inclusive and supportive workplaces where LGBTQIA+ employees can thrive. We’re incredibly proud of many of our partners celebrated at this afternoon’s awards: Congratulations to our longstanding Major Partner, MinterEllison for achieving Platinum Employer Recognition. Congratulations to our Principal Partner, American Express, for achieving Gold, alongside Presenting Partner Coles Group, Broadcast Partner Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), and Major Partners Lion and Qantas for all achieving Gold Employer Recognition in the AWEI Index.
