In fact, ICTS have significantly increased the available information, altering the methodology of statistical treatment. These transformations are progressively being incorporated into the university education, which should take up the challenge of training individuals prepared to efficiently developed its activity in the field of the new information society. This work assesses the experiences in the application of new technologies to the teaching of statistics, describing the role of the software used for practical work and analyzing the possibilities of the Internet in a dual perspective: as a supplement to classroom teaching and as a support for a virtual classroom based on the foregoing of a methodological proposal that tries to adapt the use of technology to different curricular pro...

The pedagogic proposal points the training of theoretical-practice data analysis, linking the acquisition of statistical concepts to the application on reference material that it “makes sense ” for the professional field of the Social Sciences. For the practical training the methodological material used is brought by the tutor and the databases are national surveys on conditions of life in urban homes of the Argentina Republic. This integrated approach of social data analysis coming from surveys, tries to enable professionals from this area to use in a critical way official databases that are of public access. And to build patterns of general behaviors that has intimate relationship with the buying behavior and consumption of individuals. and the particular differences through analysis of main components and clustering, to classify the 14 year-old population or more, according to lifestyles. The observation of the consumer based on his or her grouping into defined typologies based on life-style leads us to the analysis of multiple variables, among which, notably, are the notions of attitudes and values. The technology of Data Mining allows to analyze with easiness big volumes of data and to recognize patterns in time and space that will support the taking of decisions in marketing and...
