About this LJ

This journal is maintained by squigglz, and was made in response to requests from members of another LiveJournal community.

Basically, this LJ is just a bunch of reposts of my entries from this other community. There are rare essays and whatnot peppered in, but those are very few and far between.

Contact Information

If you wish to contact me, but do not wish to comment, my e-mail is squigglz@gmail.com. I very rarely use messenger programs.

Frequently Asked Questions
(also here)
In the interest of not having to repeat myself over and over in the comments sections of various posts, I'll just answer the questions I get most often here. If there's one you think should be added, e-mail me at squigglz@gmail.com.

Hey guys.

I like to think I'm a nice girl, really. I'm generally patient, nice, and understanding.

But I've come to a decision.

I'm really, really tired of politely answering the same goddamned questions over and over and over.

I understand that dancing is something most people have had no real contact with or understanding of. I get that. That's why I have an intro post and a FAQ (both, I might add, right in the very top post of this journal AND the userinfo). Oh, and a small rant. Almost forgot that one.

So, here it is.

IF you have a question NOT covered by ANY of those, ask it here. I will answer, then amend the FAQ and intro post accordingly.

If it is a really goddamned dumb question, I reserve the right to not answer :)

You might be wondering: What qualifies as a dumb/bad question?
A) Anything already covered in the aforementioned posts
B) Anything pertaining to my personal life that is NOT already publicly viewable in my personal journal, squigglz.

Now, don't get me wrong. The actual e-mails I've received asking in-depth questions about the business have been lovely. I've met some great people that way, and I thank those of you that I'm talking about for that.

The vast majority of you have been great, and I do love keeping this journal :)

So! Fire away with relevant shit that hasn't been answered :)

(Past entries are now all tagged.)

To save myself the effort of answering the same questions over and over and over, I've decided to set up this half-assed FAQ.

More to come once I think of more.

So, I got an e-mail tonight from a girl interested in starting to dance. In the course of our convo, I sent her this list of etiquette for dancers. Honestly, I'm surprised I haven't written something like this out yet.

Weigh in if you'd like, dancers! And obviously everyone else is welcome to read/ask questions.

Remember s!dj? Of course you do, he has his own tag even.

Anyway, he works at a club nearby doing his DJ thing. He came home from work tonight and told me this lovely story:

( This is pretty much the opposite of how to pick up a dancerCollapse )

This didn't happen to me, but to the current doorgirl who I am friends with. This is also sort of an ongoing story.
