hmtanpu **06:38 pm - Extending an Invitation to All**Dear friends,I'm sure some of you remember me. It's been a while since I was last active here, and that was as Tesenaset. I know I've come back a couple of times to do this, but with us having had to move once more, I decided I would extend the invitation again as well. Children of Kemet ForumsI first officially created Children of Kemet as pair of communities on LiveJournal (templesofkemet and childrenofanpu, thus how we ended up Children of Kemet) in 2004. The whole thing began because of the lack of a place where Kemetics and those interested in Kemeticism, the Neteru, etc. could meet and discuss the subject of religion, spirituality, and whatnot in a place where it didn't matter what faith you followed, you would be welcome. People said it wasn't possible. We were among the very first to prove them wrong. The only thing we don't tolerate here is intolerance. If you have a problem with another faith--and even I'm guilty of this one--you need to leave that at the door when you're here. Don't let the illusion of religion get in the way of knowing one another in fellowship of spirit.I would like to invite anyone interested in joining to do so. You can read our archives via a link available on the new forum. Please excuse our progress as we work on getting things settled in. We also have a social network available at http://kemetics.ning.com/ -- a Myspace-type website for Kemetics.Until then,Sab Saiti

priesterin 11:47 pm - Hail!Greetings, I'm the new person...I've been a devotee of Anubis since...as far back as I can remember. It's hard to say why exactly, I never had some kind of vision or experience, or encounter that I can recall. Sadly I don't have an exciting story to share there. I was really excited to find this community when I came across it a few days ago. He was the first deity to be honored on my altar when I started keeping one, and he will always remain primary, as my patron. I thought I'd introduce myself since I have a few pictures on the internet at long last of my altar statue of Anubis and Nephthys (she stands in front of him on a much smaller scale.) and of my tattoo that I had done as a devotional piece to him. I hope you all enjoy them. I should note, the statue is hand carved basalt from Egypt. ( Images behind here....Collapse ) Current Mood: calmcalmCurrent Music: peace and quiet....

dreamingdeer **04:08 pm - Akh-Ker**I am pleased to see that there's a community devoted to the God to whom I am his Get. I have been Khenemetanpw since I was a very young child of the age of six, whereupon I received a dream that I still remember very vividly. It was set in a vast and dark temple of carved stone and painted design, so dark that it seemed to close in and hold everything in its grasp. Three torches burned, two on either side of me and one in behind a great table, upon which sat a man with black skin and the head and tail of a jackal. He was in the finest and thinnest of white linens, his hair was braided with care and bedecked with many coloured beads, and he had comparably simple gold accessories for someone of his stature. I immediately recognized his authority, and was silent and comfortable. I was not at all afraid. It was then that I was gestured for and summoned closer, and whence I reached the foot of the stair that led up to his table, he spoke. The words were not English, but they were understood just as well as if they had been; "You are my Child." It was a fact that seemed to fix and repair holes and unknowns in my life, as if he had dropped a bridge across a gap inside of me. It was something I knew about myself that I kept quiet until the age of twelve, when I met my mentor.I am a strong believer in past lives, and she told me about some of mine and helped me to my Awakening. Indeed my friends, there is nothing special about me except that I have been around the block for longer than most, which simply means that I don't learn as fast! Hahaha. I have been many animals, many peasants, many children, and few of much importance except for my time in Egypt, when for many lives I was the head Priest of a Temple. I couldn't say how many times for the Temple of Yinepu/Anpw, but once for the Temple of Heru/Horus.I have been Akh-Ker (meaning 'Older Brother') to a couple people in my area who've Awakened to their guide Gods and Goddesses of the Egyptian pantheon, helping to educate and teach them the basics and facilitate learning of how to worship and commune with the Gods in ways that work for them. I'm fairly well educated in several other religions and such as well, so I'm always available to help or give advice to any who would like another opinion.I promise you that I will never directly tell you to do or not to do something but I will give suggestions and explanations. After all, our lives are all about learning, blundering through our days and being guided by a helpful hand, but always it is ourselves at the helm. How would we learn anything if we were simply told the right answer?I hope to see you around, and I hope to join in discussions.Akh-Ker KhenemetOlder Brother Who is Joined with Gods

hirodra 12:17 amI'm not good at introductions, which is why this isn't much of one.I really am only posting to ask a question. They say Anpu has a daughter, but I haven't seen any mention anywhere of who her mother is. Does anyone know?

keepershaven **09:47 pm - New Forum for Followers of the Kemetic Pantheon**Cross-posted in childrenofanpu and templesofkemetAs with these communities, the new forum, Children of Kemet, is open to everyone interested in the ancient ways of Kemet, regardless of what religion you may practice. However, much of the discussion is for the followers, devouts, clergy, and magicians of the Gods and Goddesses of ancient Egypt.Getting the forum up to the full standard I wish to see it at will take a while (generally it takes roughly a month to get all of the basics set and start working the bugs out of it), and I will be seeking out people to help with setup and moderation of the forum. If you're interested, please let me know via the forum or by here. Each God and Goddess will have a forum dedicated to Him or Her for Their children to discuss various topics of interest. Right now, everything is open-ended until planning is finished. If you do not see your patron deity listed, please leave a post in the suggestions/requests board for a forum for Him or Her.I hope to see you there. You'll find me there as Tesenaset.Children of Kemet : http://s15.invisionfree.com/childrenofkemet/

jackals_sight **12:27 pm - Darlene**I have few ex-boyfriends whom I have remained friends with over the years. One such is Rick. He called me this morning to let me know that his fiancee, Darlene, had passed on. I didn't know her well, but I know that she brought light into his life, and he said that I was the only ex-girlfriend of his that she liked. Her words bring me honor. She was a good woman, who had a pain-filled walk on this planet, and deserves the rest she has been granted.Lord Anubis, I ask you to receive yet another soul that has passed from our world to the one beyond. Though she suffered and bore pain, she still brought light to the lives of others around her. Lead her through the momentary darkness into your father's hall. Osiris, judge her justly and mercifully, and hear the cries of hearts of those who cared for her and those to whom she showed love and kindness. Let not her heart speak against her, for she was a good and just woman. Grant her passage to the Afterlife, and give her the rest she could not fully have in life. Please say a little prayer in the coming days, for her, for Rick, and for her family. Karen.

keepershaven **12:31 pm - Note from the maintainer...For those of you who may have been wondering, I am the maintainer/owner of this community. Regretfully, I haven't been around much as of late, as I've been fighting a seemingly never-ending struggle with my depression. I hope you can understand. I probably still won't be active much, but I will try to be more active than I have been in the past... For those interested in knowing, here's a cross-post from my personal journal as to what's happening:( What's going on inside...Collapse )**Anpu, take me away from this pain, from this fear... Please...Current Mood: distresseddistressed
