| | It's THAT time of the year already: the 2015 calendars!!!!! .... or maybe not quite yet uuhmm... there are still only a few revealed, mostly things like Naruto or One Piece...or Kiki Delivery Service!!! XDThis is now my SIXTH year in a row purchasing a Kiki desktop calendar which are really little piece of art, I use them more as decorative figures than calendars~ I had no idea in that autumn 2009 that I would be starting a collection! and I also discovered looking around that I actually own them all at the exception of the 2009 one! (well, and the 'eternal calendars':the ones for which you change the numbers for day/month and you can use them forever, but this a different category of calendars...)-2010 was a big figure of Jiji the cat holding a little frame-2011 was a menu kind of thing (you know, the ones you find in restaurants and cafe) with Jiji on top of it-2012 was an antique sign with Jiji sitting bellow-2013 was a coffee cup with cinnamon and Jiji on it-and this year 2014 was an antique dressing with Jiji on the open drawerAnd now comes 2015! Here it goes: this year, we get a hanger!! :DTags:calendar, ghibli, goodies, kiki delivery service, merchandise It's that time of the year once again!I actually wrote quite a huge post about the calendars but everything vanished as a clicked on a wrong button and went to another webpage...when I returned back to LJ everything was gone of course...so here goes AGAIN!**Desktop calendars:**1-Kiki's delivery service for the 5th year in a row! it has turned into a collection; I use them more as decorative figures than calendars, but hey! This is how it's supposed to be to start with, and what makes them interesting: when the year ends, you can still use them as deco, photo's frame and so on2-The Rose of Versailles! HUGE surprise! I never thought I would ever see something like that! It was released for the 40th anniversary since the end of the manga (1973-2013). I am a big big BIG nostalgic and totally the type to look back at the anime I watched when I was younger to whom I am really attached.It's a weekly calendar (53 weeks) in the format of a square, and since the pages (112 pages, double faced, which makes 56 sheets) can also be used as postcards/notes/cards I suspect it to be 15/16cm. For the lucky people who knows japanese, you will also be able to enjoy quotes and scenes from the manga~ **Wall calendars:**1-Yet another big surprise I wasn't expecting! The Twelve Kingdoms!!!!!! I'm a HUGE fan! If you don't know about it, WATCH it NOW! And read it too! The novels are amazing! The 7 pages are actually illustrations from the covers of the latest edition of the novels released very recently in Japan.2-One Piece!! This is my 2nd time buying a OP calendar. I really like how large it is: my desk is facing a wall, so I hang it right in front and because of it's size, it covers most of the space in front of me, it's a good deco, the artworks are always very detailed, funny and cheerful~Why, still, buy 2 wall calendars? Kiki's is only a 14cm tall figure and Rose of Versailles is just a bunch of sheets postcards sized, so buying both is really not a big deal in the end, but TWO decently sized wall calendars? Well, it's because they only have 7 pages each = 2 months per page, and experience showed me that having the exact same picture in front on me, on my desk, for a whole year is surprisingly boring (this is what I did last year buying only the Pandora Hearts 2013 calendar), so I'll be switching between this one and the Twelve Kingdoms one...Tags:calendar, calendar 2013, kiki delivery service, one piece, rose of versailles, twelve kingdoms Anime/Manga 2013 calendars!! Yep, it's once again THAT time of the year XD And as usual, I am outstanded at the sight of the calendars covers previews and descriptions appearing out of the blue: one day there is close to no info, the next, you've got a whole listing of hundreds of them!You can see them all right here: Yesasia anime 2013 calendar listing.I always prefer the calendars with manga art over the ones with anime art, actually, the only ones with anime art I've ever purchased were the Tsubasa Chronicle ones (2 of them in 2006/2007? or something like that...)(right side: desktop calendar, left side: wall calendar)This year though, I've fallen in love with...Sword Art Online!! I've been very much enjoying it, each episode has been really entertaining so far, and from what I've spoiled myself (I couldn't resist), it seems like the events to come shall be as great if not better than now ^^ Anyway, no matter what, it can't be as bad as this year, with the Pandora Heart calendar, which I only went close to when I needed to change the months' pages... The one thing bothering me about the SAO calendar is that there are only 7 pages (=2 months per page) while I like it better when there are 12; the other thing is that while I really enjoy the anime, but the artworks of the calendar might end up being a big fiasco or simply not be what I expect from it, I saw it happen too many times with other series not to take this in account seriously...so while I actually already pre-ordered it, my decision might possibly change depending on what preview pictures I might see before the release date.About the Clamp 2013 desktop calendar, for now, the only preview we've got is a random picture from Clamp FES, does it mean there are going to be new illustrations related to the festival? Or is it truly a totaly random picture they just put there while the real cover becomes available later on?As for my choice of desktop calendar, no surprise: for the 4th year in a row, it's Kiki's Delivery Service!! I can't get enough of those, each year I looks forward to which design we will be getting, and this year too, they made something so cute! They called it Cappuccino Art, and the calendar pages are the surface of the cup, just like coffee art! XDTags:amazon.jp, calendar, calendar 2013, clamp, kiki delivery service, sword art online, yesasia This picture was *finally* revealed a few days back :D I've been awaiting it for a while now, well, not *that* much actually, but still!![click on the picture bellow to enlarge]This is actually the 3rd year in a row I'm getting myself a Kiki desktop calendar, and none disapointed me so far ^^It's not like I am such a huge fan of the movie I would collect its merchandising for years (I only watched it once, or maybe twice? years back) but I do really love Ghibli Studio animations as a whole (I own almost all the DVDs of all their famous animated movies, around 17?), and I just can't think of an anymore charming and original desktop calendar then this, which is so much better then your usual paper folded ring binded like stuffs!When I get the actual calendar, I think I might just take a picture of all 3 of them together next to each other :DTags:calendar, calendar 2012, ghibli, kiki delivery service Back in June, I didn't have it really clear if I wanted both dics, only one of them, or maybe even neither; but still, I actually pre-ordered both CCS BD movie 1 and CCS BD movie 2 from amazon.co.jp together (because they had advertised there were a limited time to pre-order the version which got the straps, that the limit was June 8th, which was untrue: it could be preordered till the day prior to the release) and 'left them aside' until I make a decision at a later date after thinking it over more, since amazon's system makes it so you don't pay for an item until they actually send it to you, and you can cancel whenever you want ^^ Later on in July, I was a bit disappointed to see the preview art which included only Sakura, but not surprised though, still I was of course wishing for an SxS art, and furthermore, I already own the DVD so I really hesitated for quite some time; but in the end, due to recent personal issues, I really felt the need to spoil myself without thinking it too much, so leaving the Artwork or Straps aside, I bought the one which I genuinely like best as an anime: movie 2, which is by the way not available anymore on amazon.jp already (so yeah, leaving the preordering issue aside, the whole 'limited edition' was actually quite truthful).The price of CCS BD movie 1 limited edition increased a little bit (+700jpy) but it's still available for order at least. The other reason I chose to get only one is very obvious: the price. I found myself in front of 2 choices at the end of **August:**Choice 1: for both CCS movie 1 and 2, I would have payed 185 usd (shipping included)Choice 2: for CCS movie 2 BD + Nodame Cantabile Illustrations + Blue Exorcist 2012 calendar (594*420)[pre-order] + Kiki Delivery Service 2012 desktop calendar [pre-order] , I would have to pay 204 usd (shipping included)I love CCS and all, but the difference was just too big ^^; And the 2012 calendars are not something I can go without. That said both choices are obviously damn expensive ;__; But as said, I want to spoil myself and it's been a veeeeery long time since I've last purchased something from amazon.jp, so what the heck! :PI hesitated about XXXholic postcard book, and am still hesitating, I might very well add it up to my order later maybe? Start reading the manga and watching the anime! The drama is also pure love too!! Hurry! :D This is a high quality artbook which is a 100% worth its price (1680jpy), the artworks are just a pleasure to look at, all of them, I really like the style of Ninomiya sensei, I always did! It's a sight for sore eyes >///<You can of course pretty much find all the ilustrations onlin but, really, having the actual thing in your hands is a whole different experience all together,The printing is just amazing, the paper quality is top notch, the whole thing is wonderful ^^ Most illustrations are the most recent ones/from the latest volumes/chapters of course, since the previous ones can be found in the CD Selection Book 1-2-3 (which I need to buy too eventually by the way).Both the covers ones and the last pic of the book were done specially for this release from what I could see. And what a coincidence! For the ones unfamiliar with it, it's Ghibli's very latest animation (by Miyazaki), yet another adaptation from a novel.This is a **SURE** buy. Although I confess I was tempted by half a million other schedule books...Already available since September 4th. And now come to difficult part: the 2011 wall calendars; I know too many anime/manga and follow yet too many others, so choosing is Hell every year since out of a listing with hundred of anime/manga calendars, I know most, not to say all, of them ;__;Here are the most likely candidates though:ONE PIECE 2011 calendar**Why am I hesitating?** --> for the ones following the manga, you must now there was a 2 years jump in the future in which all the crew aged and changed their looks. That said, after following a manga for a long time, it's inevitable, you enter in some sort of routine at some point: it's not that you don't enjoy it anymore, you still love it and read it, but you are just past the phase in which you lurk forums in search of spoilers or hunting down every goodies released. I've always added up the MF calendars in my wishlists but never ended up buying any of them...why? First, I like calendars with mangaka's artworks, not anime.
