The Lufthansa Group is an aviation company with operations worldwide. It plays a leading role in its European home market. With 109,509 employees, the Lufthansa Group generated revenue of EUR 32.770m in the financial year 2022. The Passenger Airlines segment includes, on the one hand, the network airlines Lufthansa German Airlines, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines. As part of the multihub strategy, they offer their passengers a broad range of flights from their global hubs in Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich as well as their national hubs in Vienna and Brussels. Lufthansa German Airlines also includes the regional airlines Lufthansa CityLine, Air Dolomiti and Eurowings Discover, the Lufthansa Group’s holiday airline. Besides the network airlines, Eurowings also belongs to the Passenger Airlines segment. This airline provides a comprehensive range of point-to-point connections for European short-haul destinations, in particular from German-speaking countries. Besides its Passenger Airlines business segment, the Lufthansa Group also comprises aviation services. This includes the Logistics, MRO and Catering segments in particular. The Lufthansa Group also includes the Additional Businesses and Group Functions. These comprise Lufthansa Aviation Training and Lufthansa Systems especially.

Good news for electric mobility: Lufthansa LEOS e-fleet is growing Did you know that Lufthansa LEOS now operates six e-tugs? And more to come! The first full-electric tug has been driving across the Frankfurt airport apron since January 2022, the newest tug joined the e-fleet in July 2024. Here are some interesting facts about our e-tug-fleet: 6️⃣ A total of six fully-electric tractors are now in use. ↔️ They move aircraft with a take-off weight of up to 352 metric tons (Airbus A350, Boeing B777) between parking areas, hangars and to departure positions with zero emissions and low noise. 3️⃣ In addition to the all-electric models, three hybrid models and the remaining 12 diesel towing tractors currently support the daily work. 👶🏼 The youngest E-tug, the Goldhofer Phoenix E, has already covered 4,000 km with an aircraft in tow within four months – over 8,000 km in total. 📏 An E-tug weighs approx. 17 t, is almost 9 m long and 3.5 m wide. ⏱️ With over 1,000 operating hours since July 2024, 11,000 liters of diesel have already been saved, avoiding 219,000 kg of CO2. In addition to the environmental benefits, the Phoenix E tugs also have operational advantages: 📈 On average, they perform over 20 percent better than the diesel models in the fleet over a comparable period of time. 🌍 Since the Goldhofer Phoenix E electric tractors were added to the tractor fleet, a total of 280,000 liters of diesel have been saved and 750 tons of CO2 have been avoided. This corresponds to the capacity of almost nine heating oil trucks. The electric tractors from the ground handling specialist are thus making an important contribution to making aircraft movements at Frankfurt Airport more sustainable. 3️⃣ more e-tugs are expected to join the fleet in 2025 – so stay tuned #Emobility

🌍 Time to discover the ProTeam program: Meet Generation 38, the newest members of our graduate program! Having started in July, they are currently engaged in the first of four major projects. Over the next few months, they will take on three additional projects in Germany and abroad. Beyond these projects, they will gain firsthand experience with flight operations, participate in an airport week, visit a monastery for self-development, and contribute to social initiatives with the Help Alliance – a true experience of Vielfalt.
