The aim is to identify situations of early dropout risk in undergraduate students and to be able to act proactively through academic tutoring sessions. First-year university students must adapt to a new centre and new teaching methodologies, in numerous cases derived from situations such as the current global pandemic. Therefore, adapting to the new situation and the changes in their study habits that it implies are essential in order to successfully complete and successfully adjust to the course. This article carries out an analytical study of the probability of students dropping out based on various samples collected in the first semester in order to detect at an early stage those students who are likely to have difficulties in passing the course or who could drop out. To corroborate the results, they have been compared with the perception of the tutors of each of the students surveyed in order to be able to act proactively. A prediction was made from the relationship established between the variables studied of the percentage of newly enrolled students who will have no problems in their studies, those who will drop out in the first year and those who have a high probability of dropping out. Tutors will have to carry out an exhaustive monitoring of this entire segment through the application of motivation and support techniques that will enable them to redirect their choices.

One of these remote labs is VISIR, a remote electricity kit that can be used in teaching DC and AC circuits. As happens in any openended educational environment, it is difficult to assess the learning effects of this tool. Fortunately the communication between the users and the VISIR remote lab in the WeblabDeusto leaves behind a set of log information that can be analyzed. This contribution presents our current work-in-progress in analyzing these logs for better understanding the learning processes that take place when using this remote lab.

At the University of Deusto it is verified through two documents: the program and the learning guide. The preparation of these two instruments requires, not only face-to-face courses, but also up-to-date and easily accessible supporting materials. A "subject for teachers" has been designed, implemented and validated as part of an innovation project and thanks to the use of ICTs that accompanies these face-to-face courses on the institutional platform. The use of the platform itself is not the innovation, but the way in which the Didactic Unit has been designed: following the learning cycle established at the University, and using active methodologies, varied resources and a process of formative evaluation and feedback. This way, not only are teachers trained in contents, but they are also provided with a Unit that serves as an example of what they are asked to do in their own subjects. The results in terms of the follow-up of the phases, the fulfilment of the goals and the impact indicators have been very satisfactory.

This article presents a pioneering system in the way the quality of teaching is evaluated through a double quality Label: I Design and Planning and II Implementation. The analyses and results presented refer exclusively to the label I applied for ten years. During this time, a total of 1930 teacher reports have been issued and 379 of them have been analysed through a stratified probabilistic sample. The method used was basically quantitative with a qualitative complement. The results show that there has been an improvement in teacher quality linked to a decrease in errors throughout the process analysed. This leads to a debate on the relevance of evaluation as a means of improvement and not exclusively as a summative...

Due to the COVID-19 (corona virus disease 2019) pandemic, La Salle URL adopted an Emergency Remote Teaching tactical solution in the second semester of the 2019–2020 academic year, just before implementing a strategic learning approach based on a new Smart Classroom (SC) system deployed in the campus facilities. The latter solution was developed to ensure that both on-campus and off-campus students could effectively follow the course syllabus through the use of new technological devices introduced in classrooms and laboratories, reducing the inherent difficulties of online learning. The results of our findings show: (1) No major co...

This study seeks to determine the impact of this new VTU on transfer and to assess the quality of its intervention without disregarding project sustainability by selecting the information and communication technologies that were used. After contextualizing and briefly introducing the primary variables of the project, this study describes how good practices have been developed as well as presents the corresponding results and the conclusions. The overall assessment reveals highly satisfactory results, both in terms of impact and intervention, regarding usability, accessibility, transfer, and sustainability.

On that basis, a call was made to all nations to achieve this through the 2030 Agenda. The issue is a complex one, as is evident from its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their interwoven interaction. Engineering plays a leading role in achieving the great majority of the SDGs. For this reason, engineering education should focus its efforts on training engineers to be active agents of sustainability in the world. Our research question is, in fact, how the engineering higher education institutions around the world are deploying the 2030 Agenda. To answer it, we carried out a systematic review of the literature regarding SDGs and engineering schools in the Scopus and Web of Science (WOS) databases. We applied PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses) methodology and, as a result, 22 p...
