Releases are gradually rolled out to ensure quality control. If the latest version is not yet available to you, allow some time — updates typically become available within a week of the release date.

• Fixed an issue where Docker Desktop failed to start when a proxy configuration was specified in the admin-settings.json file.

For Windows

Security

• FixedCVE-2025-3224 allowing an attacker with access to a user machine to perform an elevation of privilege when Docker Desktop updates.
• FixedCVE-2025-4095 where Registry Access Management (RAM) policies were not enforced when using a MacOS configuration profile, allowing users to pull images from unapproved registries.
• FixedCVE-2025-3911 allowing an attacker with read access to a user's machine to obtain sensitive information from Docker Desktop log files, including environment variables configured for running containers.

Bug fixes and enhancements

For all platforms

• Fixed a bug in DockerVMM that caused an excessive number of open file handles on the host.
• Fixed an issue where Docker Desktop failed to start if the admin-settings.json file didn't contain the optional configurationFileVersion configuration.
• Fixed a bug that was causing outgoing UDP connections to be eagerly closed.
• Enhanced log reading experience with advanced search capabilities and container-level filtering, enabling quicker debugging and troubleshooting.
• Improved error messages when downloading Registry Access Management configuration.
• If Docker can't bind an ICMPv4 socket, it now logs an error and continues rather than quits.
• Enabled the memory protection keys mechanism in the Docker Desktop Linux VM, allowing containers like Oracle database images to run correctly.

• Fixed a bug that caused high CPU usage. Fixesdocker/for-mac#7643.
• Fixed multi-arch build issue with Rosetta on M3 Macs.
• Fixed an issue where absence of /Library/Application Support/com.docker.docker/ directory can cause failure to apply RAM policy restrictions.

For Windows

• The Windows .exe installer now includes improved handling of locked files. Fixesdocker/for-win#14299 anddocker/for-win#14316.
• Fixed Docker Desktop.exe not showing version information after installation. Fixesdocker/for-win#14703.

Known issues

For all platforms

• If you have enforced sign-in using desktop.plist (on macOS) or Registry key (on Windows) and also have a registry.json, sign-in will fail if the user belongs to an organization listed in desktop.plist/ registry key but not to any organizations specified in registry.json. To resolve this, remove the registry.json file.

For Windows

• If multiple organizations are specified in the allowedOrgs Windows registry key using space-separated format, sign-in will fail and user will be logged out. As a workaround, specify each organization on a separate line in the registry key value. 2025-03-31

• Fixed a bug that caused docker-proxy to stop forwarding UDP datagrams to containers.
• Fixed a bug that caused docker-proxy to close UDP connections to containers eagerly and resulting in the source address to change needlessly
• Fixed a race condition that prevented Docker Desktop Kubernetes from starting in some scenarios.
• Improved the way ECI collects image digest info from a repository in environments where proxies are configured.
• Users can now to specify a timeout when generating a private Extension Marketplace using the new --timeout flag.
• Removed unused internal helper tool com.docker.admin for Mac and Linux.

For Mac

• Fixed an issue where stale directory cache in Docker VMM that prevented detecting moved or new files.
• Removed Continue/Restart pop up when Time Machine utility is restricted.
• Docker Desktop now allows Unix domain sockets to be shared with containers via docker run -v /path/to/unix.sock:/unix.sock. The full socket path must be specified in the bind-mount. Seefor-mac/#483.
• Fixed a bug that caused the docker-credential-osxkeychain and docker-credential-desktop to return malformed URIs when a token was stored for a server with a port specified.

For Windows

• The Windows MSI and .exe installers now disable Windows Containers by default when installing with the GUI.
• Improved port-mapping throughput on WSL2.

Known issues

For Windows

• Switching to Windows Containers while the privileged helper error message is displayed could cause inconsistent state. As a workaround, quit Docker Desktop, change UseWindowsContainers to false in settings-store.json and restart Docker Desktop.
• After installation, Docker Desktop.exe does not contain the latest version information. 2025-03-05

• Ask Gordon now offers deeper context on Docker images, containers, and volumes, delivers faster support, and enables more user actions via Docker Desktop and the Docker CLI.
• Support multi-platform images via enabling users to pick a specific platform in docker history
• Fixed an issue that caused clients other than the CLI and Docker Desktop to see a delay of 3 seconds whenever a container with port-mappings exists. Seedocker/for-mac#7575
• Fixed a bug in the ECI Docker socket permissions which caused it to sometimes block Docker socket mounts on containers with allowed images, or images derived from allowed images.
• Fixed a bug that prevented Docker Desktop from entering Resource Saver mode again immediately after an engine restart.
• Fixed an issue that caused Kubernetes clusters to stop working due to expired PKI certificates.

For Mac

• Downgraded Linux kernel to v6.10.14 to fix a bug in OpenJDK that causes Java containers to terminate due to cgroups controller misidentification. Seedocker/for-mac#7573.
• Added /usr/share/misc/usb.ids in the root mount namespace to fix usbip.
• Fixed an issue where the display of the CPU limit was capped at 8 when using Docker VMM.
• Fixed an issue where startup would hang and the com.docker.backend process consumed 100% of the CPU. Seedocker/for-mac#6951.
• Fixed a bug that caused all Java programs running on M4 Macbook Pro to emit a SIGILL error. Seedocker/for-mac#7583.
• Blocked startup on macOS 15.4 beta 1 since starting VMs will cause the host to crash, seehttps://developer.apple.com/documentation/macos-release-notes/macos-15_4-release-notes#Virtual-Machines.
• Fixed an issue where the myIPAddress PAC file function retrieved the host IP from the wrong interface, causing incorrect proxy selection.

For Windows

• Fixed a bug that prevented docker compose log to stream when running apps in WSL.
• Fixed a bug where Paketo buildpacks failed with Enhanced Container Isolation when Docker Desktop uses WSL.
• Fixed a bug where the WSL 2 integration would fail if WSL Version 1 distributions are installed.
• Fixed a bug that caused some CLI plugins update to fail if WSL distributions were enabled.
• Fixed a bug where Docker Desktop sign-in would hang when using a PAC file for proxy configuration, causing a blurred UI and blocking access.

Bug fixes and enhancements

• Fixed a bug where access tokens generated by the docker login web flow could not be refreshed by Docker Desktop.
• Fixed a bug where container creation via the Docker API using curl failed whenEnhanced Container Isolation was enabled.
• Fixed a bug where the RAM policy was not refreshed after the refresh period had elapsed.
• Fixed a bug in Enhanced Container Isolation when mounting the Docker socket into a container, and then creating Docker containers with bind-mounts from within that container.
• Fixed an issue that caused a discrepancy between the GUI and the CLI, the former forcing the 0.0.0.0 HostIP in port-mappings. This caused default binding IPs configured through Engine's ip flag, or through the bridge option com.docker.network.bridge.host_binding_ipv4, to not be used.
• Fixed a bug where the pac setting was ignored in admin-settings.json.

• The Docker Desktop installer will now present a UAC prompt when launched.
• Fixed an issue where Docker Desktop would fail to start for data disks created with old WSL versions that shared the same identifier as other WSL distros.
• Docker Desktop now restarts when WSL integration settings are changed. This ensures proper setup of WSL integration when using Enhanced Container Isolation.

For Linux

• Added support for gvisor networking. Users with an incompatible version of qemu (8.x) will stay on qemu networking, and others will be migrated automatically.

• The minimum memory requirement is now automatically adjusted for Docker VMM, improving the user experience and addressing reports fromdocker/for-mac#7464,docker/for-mac#7482.

• Docker Desktop can now automatically configure shell completion scripts for zsh, bash and fish inside the install wizard and settings screen.

• Since version 4.34.0, the toggle "Allow privileged port mapping" in the Advanced settings does not work. For more information, seedocker/for-mac#7460.

Known issues

• Compose Bridge does not work automatically when you enable it within the Experimental settings tab. It takes a few minutes before you are notified that you must 'repair' Docker Desktop which then installs the compose-bridge binary.
• The Convert and Deploy button in the Compose file viewer might be disabled even when Kubernetes is running and Compose Bridge is enabled. The workaround for this is to disable Compose Bridge in the Experimental settings tab, apply the change with Apply & restart, then re-enable and select Apply & restart again.
• There is a known issue when authenticating against a registry in the Docker CLI (docker login [registry address]) where, if the provided registry address includes a repository/image name (such as docker login index.docker.io/docker/welcome-to-docker), the repository part (docker/welcome-to-docker) is not normalized and results in credentials being stored incorrectly, which causes subsequent pulls from the registry (docker pull index.docker.io/docker/welcome-to-docker) to not be authenticated. To prevent this, don't include any extraneous suffix in the registry address when running docker login.

  Note

  Using docker login with an address that includes URL path segments is not a documented use case and is considered unsupported. The recommended usage is to specify only a registry hostname, and optionally a port, as the address for docker login.

• When running docker compose up and Docker Desktop is in the Resource Saver mode, the command is unresponsive. As a workaround, manually exit the Resource Saving mode and Docker Compose becomes responsive again.
• WhenEnhanced Container Isolation (ECI) is enabled, Docker Desktop may not enter Resource Saver mode. This will be fixed in a future Docker Desktop release.
• The newECI Docker socket mount permissions for derived images feature does not yet work when Docker Desktop is configured with the Use containerd for pulling and storing images. This will be fixed in the next Docker Desktop release. 2025-01-09

• Fixed a security bug in Enhanced Container Isolation (ECI) mode where a user could create Docker volumes sourced from restricted directories inside the Docker Desktop VM and mount them into containers, thereby giving the container access to such restricted VM directories.
• By default, only extensions listed in the marketplace can be installed in Docker Desktop. This can be changed in Docker Desktop's settings. Extension developers will need to change this option in order to test their extensions.

For Windows

• FixedCVE-2024-5652 in which a user in the docker-users group can cause a Windows Denial-of-Service through the exec-path Docker daemon config option in Windows containers mode. This vulnerability was discovered by Hashim Jawad (@ihack4falafel) working with Trend Micro Zero Day Initiative.

• If you have enabled a feature in Docker Desktop that requires you to be signed in, such as Host networking you must remain signed in to use Docker Desktop. To continue using Docker Desktop or to modify these settings, ensure you are signed in.
• To enable or disable Manage Synchronized file shares with Compose, Access experimental features and Manage Synchronized file shares with Compose have to be checked or unchecked at the same time.
• The Docker CLI will sometimes hang when running a container with the autoremove option (--rm) if the container fails to start (e.g.: docker run --rm alpine invalidcommand). In this case, the CLI process may need to be manually killed.

For Windows

• When starting Docker Desktop as a non-admin user, the following error connect ENOENT \\.\pipe\errorReporter might be triggered if the user is not a member of the docker-users group. This can be resolved by adding the user to the docker-users group. Before starting Docker Desktop, make sure to sign out and then sign back in and unregister docker-desktop distribution if that was created, using wsl --unregister docker-desktop.

For Linux

• Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is not yet supported, Docker Desktop will fail to start. • FixedCVE-2023-0629, which allows an unprivileged user to bypass Enhanced Container Isolation (ECI) restrictions by setting the Docker host to docker.raw.sock, or npipe:////.pipe/docker_engine_linux on Windows, via the -H (--host) CLI flag or the DOCKER_HOST environment variable and launch containers without the additional hardening features provided by ECI. Installing Docker Desktop 4.5.0 from scratch has a bug which defaults Docker Desktop to use the Hyper-V backend instead of WSL 2. To work around this issue, you must uninstall 4.5.0 from your machine and then download and install Docker Desktop 4.5.1 or a higher version. The updatedDocker Subscription Service Agreement includes a change to the terms for Docker Desktop.

• Docker Desktop remains free for small businesses (fewer than 250 employees AND less than $10 million in annual revenue), personal use, education, and non-commercial open source projects.
• It requires a paid subscription (Pro, Team, or Business), for as little as $5 a month, for professional use in larger enterprises.
• The effective date of these terms is August 31, 2021. There is a grace period until January 31, 2022 for those that will require a paid subscription to use Docker Desktop.
