They have built in shorts!I just buy them as is, I'm not afraid to show off lots of legs. the built in short has an advantage-- it's not so much fear of showing lots of leg, so much as baring lots of ass in public that makes me a little nervous about short skirts in public. hmm... my wheels are definitely turning now! I second the denim suggestion! I'm also a jeans-tshirts-sandals lady, but a denim skirt would be very cute with that top. I love tie-dye. I'm glad it's not just me! (although part of the love of birkenstock is a defense mechanism because i walk a lot) and the shirt is too cute (plus it was a surprise, which is even nicer); and it's rare that there's a shirt that actually looks good on my boobs and doesn't look weird on my belly or vice-versa-- the fact that it's an awesome tie-dye is just lagniappe.Oh baby oh. I do a lot of walking as well, and even more crashing in the library with heaps of homework. I think my total lack of fashionability (is that a word? I like how it sounds, even if it's meaningless) is laziness. I could get up earlier every morning and select a cute outfit and do my makeup--or I could sleep for an extra 45 minutes, toss on a rumpled t-shirt with a fun slogan and run to class with coffee in hand.At any rate, a denim skirt is almost as comfortable as jeans, in my experience. Edit: I think my total lack of fashionability is due to laziness. If it's not a word, it should be-- use it, make it happen! (I got chided the other day for telling my five year old that occasionally a made-up word is far superior to the ones language has to offer.) but I concur-- laziness is definitely the bane of fashion-- i do the same thing (except without the cute outfit selection, i don't think i own any) and laziness decimates makeup almost every time :-\ |

fatazons, I think it's finally time.... for me to buy a skirt. I own a dress (possibly two, actually) but I never wear them. except for the dress-up school-girl skirt in my icon picture there; I haven't worn any kind of dress or skirt since before my son was born. (he'll be six next month-- sad but true)So I need some advice. short or long? what kind of material? If left to my own devices; I would wear nothing but jeans, t-shirts, and birkenstocks. my ex picked me up a really cute shirt the other day (here) and I kind of thought it would look nice with a skirt. Thoughts? Opinions? Help!
