The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of positive deviance facilitators (PDFs) in enhancing employee engagement at work.Design/methodology/approachThe study adopts the interpretive structural modelling (ISM) and Matrice d’Impacts Croisés-Multiplication Appliquée á un Classement (MICMAC) analysis to understand the process of how positive deviance may fuel employee engagement in an organisation. Because of the lack of empirical evidence on the relationship between employee engagement and positive deviance, ISM approach was adopted as it helps in understanding the subjective experience and learnings of experts involved in the field. The MICMAC analysis classifies the relevant factors into four clusters and helps in understanding the dynamics involved.FindingsBased on the opinions shared by industry and academia experts, a structu...

Electric vehicles (EVs), a sustainable form of automobile transportation, can reduce the country's dependence on gasoline while greatly reducing its carbon footprints. The study uses an extended TPB model in order to predict adoption intention of 326 customers towards the purchase of EVs. The sample respondents have been taken from 57 dealerships of five different automobile companies. The empirical analysis of the study shows that attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioural control, moral norm, and environmental concern have a positive relation with adoption intention of buyers. The findings of study also suggest that extended TPB model is appropriate in predicting the adoption intention of the customers towards the EVs. Based on the results, the study discusses the implications for EVs adoption in India and also provides suggestions for future research.

However, this article aims further to establish the role of employee engagement as a mediator between these variables. The sample used in the study consists of employees from Indian IT sector and data is analyzed with the help of correlation and regression analysis to test both direct and mediating effects. Results obtained confirm the partial role of employee engagement in mediating the above variables in context of Indian IT sector. The study confirms that person-organization fit affects the decision of employees to stay/not to stay with their organization and also that employees with higher levels of employee engagement would be less likely to leave their employer.

The present article examines the role of psychological empowerment as an antecedent of employee engagement in organizations and simultaneously explored the mediating role of constructive deviance. Data was collected from 233 Indian IT sector employees. A mediation effect was documented through multiple regression analysis suggested by Barron and Kenny. Findings suggest that both psychological empowerment and constructive deviance positively affect employee engagement while constructive deviance acts as significant mediator between them. Theoretical and practical implications of the findings are discussed.

Though it would not be wrong to say that may be production deviance is one of the most ubiquitous kinds of deviance present in almost every type of organizations irrespective of its size, operations and location. Therefore, its impact is much more severe than what is generally perceived by the researchers. Purpose-The purpose of this paper is to examine the various related causes and impact on organizations of workplace production deviance-especially related to lateness of arrival at work by employees. The reasons why people engage in such behaviors are explored and possible recommendations to overcome this problem are proposed herewith. Design/Methodology/Approach-A literature review on current and earlier researches on same and similar areas was conducted followed by the designing of a self-report questionnaire and its empirical analysis. Result-Tests employed in current research suggested that there is not much of the significant difference between the type of gender, age-group and other demographic variables on employee nonpunctuality. Conclusion-Findings of this research suggests that frequent late arrival or absenteeism is an indicator that the employee may be losing the interest in the current job/position and may/will eventually quit the job in future. Hence measures as suggested in this research shall be taken to solve this grave issue of non-punctuality which constitutes the part of production deviance.

The consequences are severe and are registered through various empirical findings. However, very few researches have focused on its antecedents and even fewer are the attempts to study the social learning factors responsible for dysfunctional behavior of the employees. This study makes use of logistic regression to identify the contribution of two social learning variables i.e. differential association and imitation in deviant behavior of the employees.

Organizations are losing a crown of their wealth and goodwill due to their failure in containment of deviance prevalent in their premises and this unethical behavior seems to be increasing exponentially day by day. This study attempts to identify the various kinds of deviant behavior pervasive in Indian service cluster and whether the demographic variables have any role in indulgence in such behaviors. For the purpose of same a literature review on current and earlier researches on same and similar areas was conducted followed by the designing of a self-report questionnaire, its distribution, collection and its empirical analysis. Data from 156 service sector employees was gathered and tests like Mann-Whitney test and Kruskal-Wallis test were employed to test the proposed hypotheses. The paper rests with note on existing deviant behavior and some very basic remedial steps to contain it.
