It can deal with personalities, physical attributes, habits, etc. How much do you think, personally, is passed from the actor to the character? What little things do you write into stories that have no basis in the film? What kind of personalities do you give each character? How would you describe them?What you think doesn't have to have any basis, or can be based off the actors themselves - or anything else. She enjoyed the film, but my attempts to discuss it with her were somewhat thwarted because she couldn't really remember anyone's name. This led to such things as my having to refer to Mal as "the Dead Woman" and Arthur as "Leonardo DiCaprio's best friend" (insert imaginary "^____^"s where necessary).But this train of thought brought me to a different one, which is: Has anyone ever had aggravating discussions with family of friends who are not as ZOMGINCEPTION as you are?Because my mother has perhaps the trumpingest trump card in this round. The only way she can remember any of my fandom interests is to invent nicknames for everyone and refuse to acknowledge that any of them have a real identity. These nicknames often make no sense outside of her own little mind.*Her alias for Eames, I shit you not, is"WELL-DRESSED MAN".And while I personally think that Eames as a character is not quite as poorly-coordinated as this fandom likes to believe (or maybe, as Tom Hardy seems to be at times), it seems so contrary to the fandom vibe and I don't know why she's so adamant about it.(This also happened: -"What about Arthur? I'm not very active in the fandom, just read comms, sometimes comment. And I have a little question. I've found a community for Fischer, a community for Saito. But no comm for Saito/Fischer. I know, really, that this pairing is not as popular as, for example, Eames/Athur or Arthur/Ariadne, but still I've seen a number of fans and people who write Saito/Fischer fanfiction. Maybe I've failed to use LJ search and haven't found the right community yet? =) 'cause it's a pity if it doesn't exist.
