According to data from Dinas Koperasi dan UKM of Banten province, the number of UKM/IKM in Banten... more According to data from Dinas Koperasi dan UKM of Banten province, the number of UKM/IKM in Banten has reached three hundred (300) thousand which is spread across 5 (five) districts/cities. With such large number of UKM/IKM, one of the obstacles faced by decision makers (government) is the difficulty in classifying the distribution of UKM/IKM where without correct mapping it will be difficult for decision makers to provide guidance that can increase the economic growth of UKM/IKM. The results of this study are a Geographic Information System (GIS) which shows a mapping of the distribution of UKM/IKM in Banten province based on the type of business. From the results of the mapping it is concluded that UKM/IKM with culinary types are concentrated in the city centre of both Cilegon City and also Serang City while UKM/IKM with craft business are concentrated in the suburbs.

Kemampuan menggambar teknik merupakan kompetensi yang sangat penting bagi para siswa lulusan SMK.... more Kemampuan menggambar teknik merupakan kompetensi yang sangat penting bagi para siswa lulusan SMK. Oleh karena itu, para guru SMK diharapkan dapat menguasai kemampuan tersebut. Berdasarkan survei dan wawancara mengenai pembelajaran menggambar teknik di SMK YP Fatahillah 1 Cilegon, didapatkan informasi bahwa diperlukan adanya peningkatan kemampuan dari para guru dalam penguasaan kompetensi tersebut. Berdasarkan keadaan tersebut, Jurusan Teknik Mesin Untirta melaksanakan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa pelatihan menggambar teknik. Aplikasi yang diajarkan pada pelatihan ini yaitu software komputer berbasis CAD (Computer Aided Design). Peserta pada kegiatan ini adalah para guru dan laboran di SMK YP Fatahillah 1 Cilegon. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama tiga hari. Hasil dari kegiatan pelatihan ini yaitu adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan penguasaan aplikasi berbasis CAD dari para guru berdasarkan evaluasi yang diberikan.

Peralatan praktikum kompresor torak sangat diperlukan dalam proses praktikum prestasi mesin. Pera... more Peralatan praktikum kompresor torak sangat diperlukan dalam proses praktikum prestasi mesin. Peralatan yang dijadikan objek penelitian adalah peralatan kompresor torak yang dirancang dan dibuat atas modifikasi peralatan sebelumnya. Pada modifikasi alat praktikum kompresor torak ini didesain memiliki rangka berukuran 1200 x 750 x 710 mm. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa kebisingan yang timbul akibat operasional mesin kompresor. Pengukuran kebisingan dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat sound level meter. Dari hasil pengukuran didapat tingkat kebisingan rata-rata pada alat kompresor torak berkisar 65.6-85.3 dB. Kebisingan yang dihasilkan dari alat praktikum kompresor torak masih jauh melebihi standar yang ditetapkan oleh keputusan menteri Negara lingkungan hidup nomor : KEP-48/MENLH/11/1996 yaitu sebesar 55 dB untuk lingkungan pendidikan.

To overcome these problems the researchers and engineers to create a way for the fuel used was clean and friendly environment. One method used is a water emulsion. This study aims to identify the characteristics of the water emulsion fuel. This study is determine the characteristics of the water emulsion fuel through testing Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA). From the test results it can be seen pure diesel fuel MDO begin to decompose at temperatures of 230°C, whereas all samples of diesel emulsion water average decomposes at a temperature of 110°C. In Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA) testing sample numbers II is the best sample.

In the modern ages, many researches have been conducted to search for alternative fuel. Various s... more In the modern ages, many researches have been conducted to search for alternative fuel. Various source of alternative fuel such as palm, jathropa and rapeseed that are classified as biofuel have been tested to determine its suitability. Besides that, waste product such as waste tyres and plastics also can be processed to yield the alternative fuel. In this paper, performance of a diesel engine operating with tyre-derived fuel (TDF) blended with diesel fuel at several ratios is analysed and compared with diesel fuel. A single cylinder YANMAR TF120M diesel engine is utilized in the experiments where it is operated with constant load exerted to the engine and at variable engine speed ranging from 1200 rpm to 2400 rpm. The performance parameters that was analysed in the paper includes engine power and torque, combustion pressure and exhaust gas temperature. The experimental results show that percentage of TDF blends of 10% in diesel fuel gives significant impact to the engine performance output.

Incinerator produces power and heat from waste, reduces waste disposal, and reduces air pollution... more Incinerator produces power and heat from waste, reduces waste disposal, and reduces air pollution. The objective of the research of incinerator and ESP is to minimize air pollution in campus. UNTIRTA as a university having vision as a Smart and Green Campus, develops a municipal incinerator type fluidized bed with capacity 25 kg. Incinerator made by 1.2 mm steel plat, complete with burner and air blower to supply the air for combustion process. Solid waste was collected from area inside the campus such as paper, plastics, and organics waste. The results shows that the incinerator is in good performance and also effectively reduce the exhaust emissions for pollution control in the campus.

Udara partikulat yang ada pada lingkungan sekitar dapat memasuki tubuh makhluk hidup lewat salura... more Udara partikulat yang ada pada lingkungan sekitar dapat memasuki tubuh makhluk hidup lewat saluran pernapasan, sehingga dapat menyebabkan iritasi pada fungsi pernapasan. Kondisi tersebut menuntut untuk memberi inovasi pada alat yang bisa menurunkan persentase peredaran polusi udara yang ada di lingkungan sekitar. Sistem filter electrostatic precipitator (ESP) ini merupakan salah satu penerapan untuk mendukung pengurangan polusi udara partikulat yang dihasilkan oleh incinerator. Sistem ini mempunyai nilai efisiensi sebesar 99,84%, dilihat dari nilai efisiensi sistem ESP ini sangat baik dalam mengurangi polusi udara partikulat hasil dari incinerator. Maka, jenis material untuk plat ESP yang digunakan pun harus yang memiliki kualitas yang baik. ESP sendiri adalah salah satu alternatif untuk penangkap debu dari hasil suatu pembakaran dengan efisiensi >99%. Material yang digunakan untuk filter udara sistem ESP pada kajian ini adalah besi dan Stainless Steel 304. Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah uji laju korosi dan X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), di mana material akan diukur laju korosinya dengan metode kehilangan berat dan dilihat kandungan dan unsur yang berubah menggunakan XRD. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui material yang sesuai untuk digunakan sebagai plat pada ESP. Pada pengujian uji laju korosi ini, besi memiliki penurunan laju korosi sebesar 66% dan Stainless Steel 304 sebesar 73%, di mana Stainless Steel 304 memiliki penurunan yang lebih besar dan lebih baik dibandingkan besi. Untuk hasil Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) EDX menunjukkan bahwa kedua spesimen setelah dipanaskan samasama memiliki fasa ferit perlit, namun untuk spesimen besi lebih dominan perlit, fasa stainless steel 304 lebih dominan ferit. Kemudian untuk hasil XRD, terdapat perubahan gelombang pada grafik spesimen besi dan stainless steel 304 sebelum dan sesudah dipanaskan yang berarti terdapat perubahan fasa pada kedua spesimen.

Gokart is a four-wheeled simple vehicle, which right now commonly being used as an early stage of... more Gokart is a four-wheeled simple vehicle, which right now commonly being used as an early stage of racing cause it could train the reflexes of their driver, the decision making and other skills. Gokart usually powered by a two-stroke or four-stroke engine. In gokart racing, other than their driver, engine performance is such a big factor for the race result. The equipment for measure or achieve how much the performance above is called dynamometer, or commonly called "dynotest". This research is focusing on knowing the engine performance (torque and power) on 150cc petrol-powered two-stroke engine with variation of main jet load of 155, 160 and 165 in 4000 Rpm to 13.000 Rpm. This research is conducted with chassis dynamometer test equipment to get the result of performance data measured by test equipment. From the result of the experiment on lower torque, the power output were so low and could reach maximum followed by engine's rotation (Rpm), after reaching its peak rpm it will decreasing gradually on higher Rpms. From this research, the best torque is when using a 160 main jet with 16 Nm torque at 10.000 Rpm. Meanwhile, while using a 155 main jet, the torque were decreased by 6,25% and 6,87% while using a 165 main jet. Best power achieved when using a 160 main jet with power of 23,9 HP at 12.000 Rpm. Whereas with a 155 main jet, the power decreased by 4,6% and with a 165 main jet, the power decreased by 1,67%.

There were so many kinds of fuel such as pertamax, pertamax turbo, and avgas, with each other has a different octane number. Fuel consumption is affected by so many factor, few between them arethe difference between their octane number. The purpose of this study is to found the consumption value of 150cc gokart engine with an octane number variant. This experiment test the specific fuel consumption and air fuel ratio of the engine mentioned above when using different fuel like pertamax, pertamax turbo, and avgas, as all of them tested using dynotest, which connected to computer to track their power value of each fuel used linearly with Rpm increase, idle Rpm, 3000, 5000, 7000 and 9000 Rpm. For specific fuel consumption count based on time needed to emptying each of the fuel tested. From the research, found that specific fuel consumption value was 680 gram/Kwh for pertamax fuel, 357 gram/Kwh for pertamax turbo fuel, and 675 gram/Kwh for avgas. In this research, the factor that affects the specific fuel consumption is the difference between octane number of each fueltype.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan performa motor dengan memodifikasi durasi camshaft. Pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan di Laboraturium Motor Bakar Jurusan Teknik Mesin Fakultas Teknik Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Modifikasi dilakukan dengan merubah durasi camshaft dan lobe separation angle (LSA), dimana durasi camshaft standart pada katup intake 221ᴼ dan lobe separation angle 96.75ᴼ serta katup exhaust 202ᴼ lobe separation angle 84ᴼ. Modifikasi camshaft ke-satu dengan durasi katup intake 235ᴼ dan lobe separation angle 100.5ᴼ serta katup exhaust 235ᴼ dengan lobe separation angle (LSA) 102,5ᴼ yang akan dibandingkan dengan modifikasi camshaft ke-dua dengan durasi katup intake 260ᴼ dan lobe separation angle (LSA) 104ᴼ serta katup exhaust durasi 260ᴼ dengan lobe separation angle 107ᴼ). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa performa mesin terbaik yakni menggunakan modifikasi camshaft ke-dua. Peningkatan torsi pada modifikasi camshaft adalah 19,182 % dan 22,902 % untuk modifikasi satu dan dua secara berturut-turut terhadap camshaft standar. Untuk peningkatan daya modifikasi camshaft terhadap camshaft standar adalah 7,378% dan 13,45% untuk modifikasi satu dan dua secara berturut-turut.

The aim of this paper is to study the effect of ship operation on formation of N2O emissions and ... more The aim of this paper is to study the effect of ship operation on formation of N2O emissions and the influence of temperature changing in the exhaust pipe diesel engine. The data were taken from training ship Fukae Maru during the voyage project in September 2004 and the diesel engine experiment in the laboratory. Data from the Fukae Maru training ship were carried out at different operating conditions. Two sampling points, in the engine room and funnel were set up in the experiment. The N2O analyzer model 46C was used to measure exhaust emissions. A direct-injection diesel engine with naturally aspirated (model NF-19SK YANMAR) single cylinder was employed to test the emission and engine performance. The experiment data shows that in the 15 degree PPA, the nitrous oxide emissions higher than others condition.

Kebisingan yang dihasilkan dari alat praktikum kompresor torak masih jauh melebihi standar yang ditetapkan oleh keputusan menteri Negara lingkungan hidup nomor : KEP-48/MENLH/11/1996 yaitu sebesar 55 dB untuk lingkungan pendidikan.

Udara partikulat yang ada pada lingkungan sekitar dapat memasuki tubuh makhluk hidup lewat salura... more Udara partikulat yang ada pada lingkungan sekitar dapat memasuki tubuh makhluk hidup lewat saluran pernapasan, sehingga dapat menyebabkan iritasi pada fungsi pernapasan. Kondisi tersebut menuntut untuk memberi inovasi pada alat yang bisa menurunkan persentase peredaran polusi udara yang ada di lingkungan sekitar. Sistem filter electrostatic precipitator (ESP) ini merupakan salah satu penerapan untuk mendukung pengurangan polusi udara partikulat yang dihasilkan oleh incinerator. Sistem ini mempunyai nilai efisiensi sebesar 99,84%, dilihat dari nilai efisiensi sistem ESP ini sangat baik dalam mengurangi polusi udara partikulat hasil dari incinerator. Maka, jenis material untuk plat ESP yang digunakan pun harus yang memiliki kualitas yang baik. ESP sendiri adalah salah satu alternatif untuk penangkap debu dari hasil suatu pembakaran dengan efisiensi >99%. Material yang digunakan untuk filter udara sistem ESP pada kajian ini adalah besi dan Stainless Steel 304. Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah uji laju korosi dan X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), di mana material akan diukur laju korosinya dengan metode kehilangan berat dan dilihat kandungan dan unsur yang berubah menggunakan XRD. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui material yang sesuai untuk digunakan sebagai plat pada ESP. Pada pengujian uji laju korosi ini, besi memiliki penurunan laju korosi sebesar 66% dan Stainless Steel 304 sebesar 73%, di mana Stainless Steel 304 memiliki penurunan yang lebih besar dan lebih baik dibandingkan besi. Untuk hasil Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) EDX menunjukkan bahwa kedua spesimen setelah dipanaskan samasama memiliki fasa ferit perlit, namun untuk spesimen besi lebih dominan perlit, fasa stainless steel 304 lebih dominan ferit. Kemudian untuk hasil XRD, terdapat perubahan gelombang pada grafik spesimen besi dan stainless steel 304 sebelum dan sesudah dipanaskan yang berarti terdapat perubahan fasa pada kedua spesimen.

Gokart is a four-wheeled simple vehicle, which right now commonly being used as an early stage of... more Gokart is a four-wheeled simple vehicle, which right now commonly being used as an early stage of racing cause it could train the reflexes of their driver, the decision making and other skills. Gokart usually powered by a two-stroke or four-stroke engine. In gokart racing, other than their driver, engine performance is such a big factor for the race result. The equipment for measure or achieve how much the performance above is called dynamometer, or commonly called "dynotest". This research is focusing on knowing the engine performance (torque and power) on 150cc petrol-powered two-stroke engine with variation of main jet load of 155, 160 and 165 in 4000 Rpm to 13.000 Rpm. This research is conducted with chassis dynamometer test equipment to get the result of performance data measured by test equipment. From the result of the experiment on lower torque, the power output were so low and could reach maximum followed by engine's rotation (Rpm), after reaching its peak rpm it will decreasing gradually on higher Rpms. From this research, the best torque is when using a 160 main jet with 16 Nm torque at 10.000 Rpm. Meanwhile, while using a 155 main jet, the torque were decreased by 6,25% and 6,87% while using a 165 main jet. Best power achieved when using a 160 main jet with power of 23,9 HP at 12.000 Rpm. Whereas with a 155 main jet, the power decreased by 4,6% and with a 165 main jet, the power decreased by 1,67%.

There were so many kinds of fuel such as pertamax, pertamax turbo, and avgas, with each other has a different octane number. Fuel consumption is affected by so many factor, few between them arethe difference between their octane number. The purpose of this study is to found the consumption value of 150cc gokart engine with an octane number variant. This experiment test the specific fuel consumption and air fuel ratio of the engine mentioned above when using different fuel like pertamax, pertamax turbo, and avgas, as all of them tested using dynotest, which connected to computer to track their power value of each fuel used linearly with Rpm increase, idle Rpm, 3000, 5000, 7000 and 9000 Rpm. For specific fuel consumption count based on time needed to emptying each of the fuel tested. From the research, found that specific fuel consumption value was 680 gram/Kwh for pertamax fuel, 357 gram/Kwh for pertamax turbo fuel, and 675 gram/Kwh for avgas. In this research, the factor that affects the specific fuel consumption is the difference between octane number of each fueltype.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan performa motor dengan memodifikasi durasi camshaft. Pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan di Laboraturium Motor Bakar Jurusan Teknik Mesin Fakultas Teknik Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Modifikasi dilakukan dengan merubah durasi camshaft dan lobe separation angle (LSA), dimana durasi camshaft standart pada katup intake 221ᴼ dan lobe separation angle 96.75ᴼ serta katup exhaust 202ᴼ lobe separation angle 84ᴼ. Modifikasi camshaft ke-satu dengan durasi katup intake 235ᴼ dan lobe separation angle 100.5ᴼ serta katup exhaust 235ᴼ dengan lobe separation angle (LSA) 102,5ᴼ yang akan dibandingkan dengan modifikasi camshaft ke-dua dengan durasi katup intake 260ᴼ dan lobe separation angle (LSA) 104ᴼ serta katup exhaust durasi 260ᴼ dengan lobe separation angle 107ᴼ). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa performa mesin terbaik yakni menggunakan modifikasi camshaft ke-dua. Peningkatan torsi pada modifikasi camshaft adalah 19,182 % dan 22,902 % untuk modifikasi satu dan dua secara berturut-turut terhadap camshaft standar. Untuk peningkatan daya modifikasi camshaft terhadap camshaft standar adalah 7,378% dan 13,45% untuk modifikasi satu dan dua secara berturut-turut.

The aim of this paper is to study the effect of ship operation on formation of N2O emissions and ... more The aim of this paper is to study the effect of ship operation on formation of N2O emissions and the influence of temperature changing in the exhaust pipe diesel engine. The data were taken from training ship Fukae Maru during the voyage project in September 2004 and the diesel engine experiment in the laboratory. Data from the Fukae Maru training ship were carried out at different operating conditions. Two sampling points, in the engine room and funnel were set up in the experiment. The N2O analyzer model 46C was used to measure exhaust emissions. A direct-injection diesel engine with naturally aspirated (model NF-19SK YANMAR) single cylinder was employed to test the emission and engine performance. The experiment data shows that in the 15 degree PPA, the nitrous oxide emissions higher than others condition.
