This research aims to improve the activities and results of learning mathematics using the discov... more This research aims to improve the activities and results of learning mathematics using the discovery learning model. This type of research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. Subjects of this study was grade III B SDIT Generasi Rabbani Bengukulu. The data collection instrument used student activity observation sheets and learning outcomes tests. The data analysis technique uses arithmetic mean and the percentage of learning completeness. The results showed: 1) Teacher activity in the first cycle obtained an average of 3.38 and in the second cycle an average of 3.81, 2) Student activity in the first cycle obtained an average of 3.13 and in the second cycle an average of 3.67, 3) Learning result in the first cycle were obtained an average of 71.43 with learning completeness 64.29 %, an increase in the second cycle obtained an average value of 76.79 with 82.14% completeness learning. This research is a development research that aims to find out how the development of LKPD based o... more This research is a development research that aims to find out how the development of LKPD based on CTL to improve the ability of mathematical communication and student self-efficacy. This research started from preliminary study, preparation of LKPD, LKPD validation, initial field test, and field test. The subjects of this study are students of class VII-A and VII-C SMP Negeri 1 Abung Tinggi Lesson Year 2016/2017. Preliminary study results indicate the need for the development of LKPDbased CTL approach. The preparation of LKPD begins with drafting the LKPD and all its components based on the guideline for the preparation of LKPD. Validation results indicate that LKPD has met the content and design feasibility standards. Field test results indicate that LKPD is included in either category. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMK yang berkemampuan sedang yang berada di lampng tengah, sedangkan sampelnya dipilih kelas XI yang berjumlah 50 orang dari satu SMK di lampung tengah yang berkemampuan sedang. Instrumen pada penelitian ini berupa tes berbentuk soal uraian untuk tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Instrumen yang digunakan sudah memenuhi soal yang baik berdasarkan validitas, reliabilitas, daya pembeda dan indeks kesukaran. This study refers to the Research and Development procedure of Borg and Gall which is simplified into six stages and the resulting product is refined with ASSURE learning design theory. Data were analyzed with qualitative descriptive methods and cognitive learning outcomes with normalized N-gain to determine the effectiveness of the model, Independent t-test to determine differences in learning outcomes. This research procedure uses the procedure by Tessmer, namely preliminary phase and formative evaluation phase which includes self evaluation, prototyping (expert reviews, one-to-one, small group) and field test. The data was obtained through mathematical communication test and self confidence scale. The results of the expert reviews show that students ’ worksheet - based on PBL has met the feasibility standards of content, media and language in very good category. the result of the one-to-one and small group show very good category. This study was initiated with preliminary studies, the composing, the validation, preliminary field testing, and main field testing. The subject of this research was students of VII D class of SMP N 1 Seputih Raman. The result of preliminary study indicated that there was a need to develop worksheet. The arranges of worksheet were started with the draft-preperation and all of components based on the composing guidelines. The result of the validation showed that the worksheet got the standard qualification for its content and design. The field trial results showed that students’ mathematical communication aspect was good enough because more than 70 % of the students have reached minimum criteria. Desain penelitian ini adalah posttest only control design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data penelitian berupa data pemahaman konsep matematis yang diperoleh melalui tes. This quasi-experimental study aimed to examine the effectiveness of soft skills training and the practice of lesson study on improving mathematics teacher self-efficacy and describe the impact of teacher self-efficacy on the freedom of students' mathematical thinking. The study involved three mathematics teachers and 90 students from three different junior high school regions in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia (city center, semi-urban, and suburban). The population of this research was students of grade VII in SMP Al-Azhar 3 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2016/2017 that were distributed into seven classes. The samples of this research were students of VII D and VII E classes which were chosen by purposive sampling. The design was pretest-posttest control group design. Data of the research were analyzed using t-test. Based on the result of the research, it was concluded that inquiry learning model was not effective in terms of mathematical representation skills and students’ self confidence but the improvement of students mathematical representatition skills which following inquiry learning model was better than conventional learning. Desain penelitian ini adalah posttest only control design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data penelitian berupa data pemahaman konsep matematis yang diperoleh melalui tes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan pendekatan penemuan terbimbing efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas VIII MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. This quasi-experimental study aimed to examine the effectiveness of soft skills training and the practice of lesson study on improving mathematics teacher self-efficacy and describe the impact of teacher self-efficacy on the freedom of students' mathematical thinking.
