We describe some basic properties of copositive tensors and positive semidefinite tensors. Specifically, we show that a non-positive tensor (or Z-tensor) is copositive if and only if it is positive semidefinite. We also describe cone hierarchies that approximate the copositive cone. These hierarchies are based on the sum of squares conditions and the non-negativity of polynomial coefficients. We provide a compact representation for the approximation based on the non-negativity of polynomial coefficients. As an immediate consequence of this representation, we show that the approximation based on the non-negativity of polynomial coefficients is polyhedral. Furthermore, these hierarchies are used to provide approximation results for optimizing a (homogeneous) polynomial over the simplex.

One way of helping developers to provide summaries of these reports and provide relevant details only. Once it’s decided that this is the required report then one can study the details. As text mining technology advances, many substantial approaches have been proposed to generate optimized summaries for bug reports. The ground water samples were collected from fifteen different sampling stations for comprehensive physico–chemical analysis. The following parameters have been considered viz. pH, Alkalinity, Total hardness, Total Dissolved Solids, chloride and turbidity. On comparing the results against the drinking water quality standards, it was found that most of the water quality parameters were within the permissible limits. This study helped in understanding the potential threats to the ground water resources of the city. It was concluded that most water samples are potable for drinking purposes when compared to the standards.

The [email protected] NC was characterised using biophysical techniques. [email protected] immobilised with glucose oxidase (GOx) was achieved by drop-coating glassy carbon electrode surface with Nafion (Nf) as preservative membrane. EIS, amperometric response and cyclic voltammetry were used to determine electrochemical properties of the biosensor. The Nf/GOx/[email protected]/GCE biosensor had sensitivity of 18.25 μA mM−1 cm−2 and linear range of 0.05-18 mM (R2 = 0.997) with detection limit of 36 μM (S/N = 3). The response time over a period of 60 days depicted the biosensor to be quite stable. The potential of the bioelectrode in assessment of human blood glucose concentrations was compared with commercially available glucose sensors. The sensitivity and stability infer the biosensor is capable of functioning specifically in analysis of glucose in physiological fluids.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of strength training on plasma anti-inflammatory cytokines and their relationships with testosterone and cortisol hormone and body composition in young men. Nineteen sedentary men (age, 20-30 yr), volunteers and participant in the study were randomly divided into two groups, strength training (n=10) and control (n=9) group. Blood samples were collected before and after 10 weeks from intervention, and the concentrations of plasma IL4, IL-10 and testosterone were measured. Ten weeks strength training programme consisted of 7 exercises in two sets with 8 repetitions at 70% of 1-RM in each exercise, and this was then progressively changed to three sets with 8 repetitions at 80% of 1-RM in weeks 10. Dependent and independent t test, indicated that strength training increased upper and lower body streng...

In an attempt to expose such under-the-hood practices, this paper explores the issue of browser cryptojacking, whereby miners are secretly deployed inside browser code without the knowledge of the user. To this end, we analyze the top 50k websites from Alexa and find a noticeable percentage of sites that are indulging in this exploitative exercise often using heavily obfuscated code. Furthermore, mining prevention plug-ins, such as NoMiner, fail to flag such cleverly concealed instances. Hence, we propose a machine learning solution based on hardware-assisted profiling of browser code in real-time. A fine-grained micro-architectural footprint allows us to classify mining applications with >99% accuracy and even flags them if the mining code has been heavily obfuscated or encrypted. We build our own browser extension and show that it outperforms other plug-ins. The proposed design has negligible overhead on the user’s machine and works for all standard off-the-shelf CPUs.

The hyper-realistic imagery of these manipulated videos coupled with the expedited delivery models of social media platforms gives deception, propaganda, and disinformation an entirely new meaning. Hence, raising awareness about DeepFakes and how to accurately flag them has become imperative. However, given differences in human cognition and perception, this is not straightforward. In this paper, we perform an investigative user study and also analyze existing AI detection algorithms from the literature to demystify the unknowns that are at play behind the scenes when detecting DeepFakes. Based on our findings, we design a customized training program to improve detection and evaluate on a treatment group of low-literate population, which is most vulnerable to DeepFakes. Our results suggest that, while DeepFakes are becoming imperceptible, contextualized education and training can help raise awareness and improve detection.

This study aims to identify the predictors of mortality due to the rising rate of TAVR utilization and subsequent mortality in patients with ESRD. METHODS The National Inpatient Sample (NIS) (2002-2017) was queried to identify all patients with ESRD undergoing TAVR. The trend of all-cause mortality and its predictors were determined using a binary logistic regression model to obtain adjusted odds ratios (aOR). RESULTS A total of 6836 patients (6341 survived, 495 died) were included in the analysis. The proportion of demographic and baseline comorbidities for survived vs. non-survived was nearly identical between the two groups. A rising trend in the utilization and mortality of TAVR in ESRD was noted. The adjusted odds of mortality was significantly higher for hypertension (6.92, 95% CI 3.78-12.66, p ≤ 0.0001), liver disease (4.51, 955 CI 3.30-6.17, p ≤ 0.0001), drug abuse (aOR 34.88, 95% CI 12.79-95.13, p ≤ 0.0001), periprocedural pneumonia (aOR 2.80, 95% CI 1.98-3.96, p ≤ 0.0001), cardiogenic shock (aOR, 5.97, 95% CI 4.63-7.70, p ≤ 0.0001), ST-elevation myocardial infarction (aOR 5.13, 95% CI 2.29-11.49, p ≤ 0.0001) and third-degree heart block (aOR 1.47, 955 CI 1.10-1.97, p0.01) in patients with ESRD undergoing TAVR. The mean length of stay and mean number of diagnoses recorded were also significantly higher for non-surviving TAVR patients. CONCLUSION Baseline hypertension, liver disease, third-degree heart block, periprocedural pneumonia, cardiogenic shock and STEMI can significantly increase the in-hospital mortality rate in ESRD patients undergoing TAVR.

The disease onset leads to elevated levels of free radicals rendering the oxidant-inducing mechanisms incapable of protecting cellular organelles from inflicted damage. Herein, β-galactosidase-mediated bio-enzymatic synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) was pioneered and characterized. These obtained ZnO NPs were assessed for their antidiabetic activity against streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mice. For this objective, 36 male albino mice were separated into 6 groups. The diabetes was induced in mice with STZ (120 mg kg −1 body weight), and further treated with three different doses of ZnO NPs (0.5 mg kg −1 , 1 mg kg −1 , and 2 mg kg −1) for 28 days. The results unveiled protective effects in diabetic mice treated with ZnO NPs through restoration of changes in body weight and normal glucose levels. The effects of ZnO NPs on lipid peroxidation and carbonyl contents were protective in liver, kidney and pancreas of diseased groups. Levels of serum biomarkers such as cholesterol, triglycerides and HDL-C indicated ZnO NPs treatment caused these levels to plummet towards control parameters. Normal liver function markers and urea levels in serum indicated successful treatment of diabetic mice with ZnO NPs. Histopathological studies revealed protective and non-toxic effects of ZnO NPs over vital tissues of kidney, liver, and pancreas. The results divulge efficacious pharmaceutical potential of ZnO NPs against formation of reactive oxygen species by scavenging free radicals enhancing the functioning of antioxidant fortifying enzymes generating sustenance over hyperglycemic conditions.

Effect of varying hot-side inlet temperature is also tested for the selected concentrations. The nanofluid, pumped on the shell-side of the heat exchanger, has a Reynolds number ranging from 7000 to 15,000 while, for each Reynolds number, the concentration of the nanoparticles ranges from 0.26% - 0.83% on volume basis. Results indicated that presence of nanoparticles within the base fluid can offer a great potential for energy transfer. Observation of experimental outcomes shows notable enhancement in the Nusselt number when increasing the mass-flow of the nanofluid. The enhancement registered for the above mentioned range of Re and concentration are up to 13% for Al2O3 and 23% for Cu. Experimental results show a considerable improvement in the effectiveness (up to 7% for aluminum oxide and 10% for copper). Also, the performance enhances with the augmentation of the hot-side inlet temperature. Heat leak from the shell-side (cold fluid) to atmosphere is observed to be enlarged when nanoparticle is employed and is proportionally related to the concentration. It is also monitored that the heat leak within aluminum oxide nanofluid is greater than the copper nanofluid.

The proposed ECD system is based on residual network (i.e., deep learning model) which returns a probability to indicate the explicitness in media content. The value is further compared with a defined threshold to decide whether the content is explicit or nonexplicit. The proposed system not only differentiates between explicit/nonexplicit contents but also indicates the degree of explicitness in any media content, i.e., high, medium, or low. In addition, the system also identifies the media files with tampered extension and label them as suspicious. The experimental result shows that the proposed model provides an accuracy of ~ 95% when tested on our image and video datasets.

The use of biological components as reducing agents has led to emergence of environment-friendly and cost-effective approaches of synthesis. The primary aim was synthesizing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) mediated by enzyme β galactosidase. The surface plasmon resonance peaks of AgNPs were screened using ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy against varying time of synthesis and concentration of enzyme. The mean dimension was 12.89 ± 0.16 nm as determined by the transmission electron microscopy and selected area electron diffraction patterns. The obtained NPs were fine spherical and quasi-spherical assemblages as revealed by the scanning electron microscopy studies. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed that β galactosidase contributed to the reduction and stabilization of the silver nanoparticles. The crystallinity and presence of elemental silver was...
