Deployed in various fields, such as education, NLP endeavors to support students in honing their skills and tackling academic, social, and behavioral challenges. Objective: This research aims to investigate how Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) influences the intellectual capacity and abstract reasoning skills of primary school children aged 6 to 11. Methods: A before-and-after intervention study was conducted over four months from April to July 2023. The study involved primary school children from a private urban school in Lebanon. The Raven’s Colored Progressive Matrices test was individually administered to assess the students' intellectual abilities before and after the NLP intervention. The intervention consisted of four sessions for tea...

This study seeks to evaluate the factors that trigger stress in primary school children and investigate their interconnectedness with the students' characteristics. A preliminary cross-sectional study was conducted over two months, targeting primary school children. Two pharmacists and a psychologist collected data through a standardized survey. Students were tasked with assessing their triggers across four domains: social (comprising 10 statements), behavioral (10 statements), environmental (10 statements), and academic (16 statements). Environmental triggers received the highest score (4.92 (1.92)), followed by behavioral triggers (4.21 (1.70)). Social triggers were the least frequently reported (3.52 (1.59)). After accounting for various factors, a...

Methods: A multi-center cross-sectional study was performed targeting 384 patients from five endocrinology clinics in Lebanon. A self-reported survey was developed and validated and an awareness score was generated. Results: Around 18% of patients reported that they stopped taking diabetes medication when feeling good and 21.1% stopped them when in bad health status. In the case of hyperglycemia, 16.6% said that they doubled the dose of medication, and 14.6% stopped taking it when fasting. The mean awareness score of patients was 15.7±3.9 over 25. After adjusting for covariates, The odds for higher awareness were 2.24 and 3.11 times higher among patients with higher education levels. These odds were 38% lower among patients with medical assistance at home. Physical activity significantly increased the odds of high awareness than those not practicing. Conclusion: Moderate awareness was noted among patients with lower knowledge of the symptoms of diabetes and good practices. Practice implications: Based on the findings of this study, healthcare stakeholders can explore the knowledge gaps and promote targeted interventions.

Several factors influence this substitution, including regulatory policies, safety and efficacy considerations, patient and physician preferences, and market dynamics. This review comprehensively analyzes how these factors interact and influence generic drug substitution in healthcare settings and across various therapeutic classes and highlight the importance of balancing cost-saving measures with maintaining patient safety and therapeutic efficacy. Policies and guidelines established by health authorities in each country influence the approval, interchangeability, and substitution of generic drugs. Bioequivalence and therapeutic equivalence are critical factors, particularly in drugs with narrow therapeutic indexes. Moreover, physicians’ acceptance and willingness to prescribe generic drugs, as well as patient acceptance and ...

The healthcare system is affected in terms of quality and availability of services in addition due to the pandemic, a lot of public health campaigns were paused. Consequently, Lebanon is losing its frontline healthcare workers coupled with the fact that the government budget for healthcare has dwindled. This report addresses the evolution of some health indicators in Lebanon throughout the years and presents the rights and ethical considerations and dilemmas faced by the frontline healthcare professionals during the COVID-19 outbreak. The findings of this report showed that the average life expectancy at birth was almost 80 years for both sexes in 2020. The infant mortality rate has positively been reduced to 9.2 cases per 1000 live births and despite its position compared to some Arab countries mostly adjoining Lebanon, this rate in 2019 is considered three times higher compared to some European countries. A decrease in the food and waterborne diseases rate in Lebanon was noted, however, a higher rate is presented in Bekaa. A sustainable health system is required in Lebanon focusing on people and based on public health evidence. Many ethical challenges are faced particularly in the degree of freedom and medical choices. Nevertheless, most notably the long-term impact of these measures will preserve the well-being of society.
