Independientemente del sector en el que operan, un creciente numero de organizaciones de servicio... more Independientemente del sector en el que operan, un creciente numero de organizaciones de servicios estan buscando nuevos enfoques capaces de ofrecer propuestas de valor mas competitivas. De acuerdo con la literatura, el diseno de servicios puede asistir a las empresas en tal proceso. Este estudio se centra en el analisis de dos companias que buscan integrar capacidades para el diseno de servicios. Ambas companias son lideres en su sector: servicios de restauracion colectiva y servicios de atencion al cliente. El objetivo del estudio es identificar las razones que impulsaron a estas empresas a comenzar dicha transformacion. De esta forma, se busca contribuir a entender por que cada vez mas organizaciones estan adoptando el diseno de servicios como enfoque central para la innovacion y el crecimiento. Increasing numbers of companies are looking to embed design as a strategic capability to meet tod... more Increasing numbers of companies are looking to embed design as a strategic capability to meet today’s business and social challenges. However, integrating design in an organization is a challenge, due to the scarcity of knowledge on managing this process and measuring its impact. This study presents a model for measuring and managing the impact of design on the organization (DIMM). The model builds on four levels of design impact identified in the literature: results, perception, processes, and design culture. The model was tested with four service companies that have recently developed design capabilities. To this end, those responsible for the integration of design were interviewed, using the model itself as an interview guide to confirm its usefulness and identify possible improvements.
