Based on the literature review, the authors develop a linkage that the change management factors are likely to contribute positively to the OPX of the organization. A survey of a sample of Malaysia's manufacturing leading sector, electrical and electronics (E&E) industry was conducted between February 2013 and June 2013. More than 100 organizations responded to the questionnaire survey. Data were analyzed using multiple regressions and hierarchical regression. The theoretical framework was guided by resource-based view perspective. The analysis found significant, positive relationships between transformational leadership style, human resource practices and involvement cultural trait on achievement of OPX. The research had mixed findings, partially supports the moderating effect of ACTC on relationship between the change management and OPX. The contribution to a body of knowledge in terms of promoting better understanding of the operational excellence in Malaysian E&E industry. Practical adoption of change management may improve infrastructural decision areas of manufacturing strategy such as benchmarking, best practices, quality practices and human resource policies. Therefore, it has implication on activities concerning organization and managing change.

Leadership is enabling criteria of Business Excellence Models (BEMs) and Lean is one of the keys improvement initiative which can be adopted and the path forward in achieving BE. The analysis involved studying 506 research articles published between 2009 and Aug 2020 in well-known academic databases. This systematic literature review intends to organize, synthesize and structure the shared fount of knowledge concerning to BE, leadership and Lean. The classification and analysis of these articles are according to the following axes: years of publication, types of journals and research context. Each trend of the three axes is granted in the analysis. The main research fields are suggested to guide future research agenda of BEMs. This study focused on recent 11 years articles and ignored those studies from journals that are focusing on an area other than quality and man...

This study aims to examine the relationship between transformational leadership and followers' work characteristics and performance, and follower's attitudes towards a leader as a moderating variable. A questionnaire survey will be used to collect data from Malaysian multinational corporations. The questionnaire will be utilized to measure followers' work characteristics and task performance with their leader while the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire will measure follower's perception to the leadership style of their leader. Furthermore, three followers' attitudes toward their leader (trust in the leader, loyalty, and value congruence) as moderators of this association. The literature review focuses on the followers' outcomes and builds the framework of conceptual model. Two theoretical perspectives have guided the theoretical framework which are the transformational leadership theory and leader-member exchange theory. The proposal will give an increased understanding of the implementation of transformational leadership in Malaysian MNCs and its implication on outcomes of followers. This framework reflects a growing interest in extending transformational leadership to emerging in developing counties, thus contributing to a wider body of knowledge.

Moreover, the importance of the E&E industry to Malaysia's economy but the expected low contribution in the national award is necessary to be addressed promptly. The purpose of the study is to examine the 2019-2020 Baldrige Excellence framework criteria that affect the performance of Malaysia's Electrical and Electronics (E&E) companies. The seven criteria in the Baldrige Excellence framework comprised of leadership, strategy, customers, Measurement, Analysis, Knowledge Management (MAKM), workforce, operations, and results. A cross-sectional survey was conducted in this study and the respondents are from managerial levels identified as responsible for running production operations. The response rate obtained was 32% with 156 usable returned survey questionnaires. A Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach was used for data analysis. Moreover, an embedded two-stage approach was applied to evaluate the high-order construct which included all seven constructs. The results revealed that strategy and operations criteria have a significant influence on performance. The study outcomes also found that leadership influences strategy, MAKM, and workforce. The significance of the sought results is beneficial to policymakers of Malaysia in framing a new BE framework and encouraging more E&E organizations to fully adopt the Malaysia Business Excellence Framework (MBEF) that moving forwards to participate in national excellence awards. The findings of this study may assist a new theory building, particularly in the field of BE domain. The composite performance index of the economic and non-economic metrics was validated. This instrument can be reused in the context of other manufacturing sector studies.

We have identified those elements in BEM like leadership, customers, measurement, analysis, knowledge management (MAKM), strategy, and operations that influence on business results. This study also aims to assess the Lean practices influence on the operations and results of business excellence (BE). The theoretical framework is guided by BEM and Leadership theory. A stratified random sampling was employed to choose the sample from the four sub-sectors of E&E industry. A total of 500 questionnaires was circulated in Peninsular Malaysia with return usable 156 questionnaire utilized for data analysis. The outcome from the structural analysis suggested that positive relationships between strategy, operations, and Lean practices on achievement of BE. The limitations fro...

The hard systems consist of technology, structure, and strategy, and soft systems include leadership, human resource, and culture. A survey of a sample of Malaysia’s manufacturing leading sector, E&E industry was conducted. Among the key findings, there was a positive relationship between organic structure, operations strategy, transformational leadership style and human resource practices on achievement of operational excellence. The results showed that organic structure and operations strategy have effect on the achievement of operational excellence. Conversely, the manufacturing technology has not effect on operational excellence of Malaysian E&E manufacturing companies in which the hypotheses was not supported. Similarly, transformational leadership style and human resource practices were found to have an effect on the achievement o...
