This research used correlational design. The population was the second year students of SMA Negeri 1 Parepare and the method used for taking sample was simple random sampling. The data were obtained through questionnaires and document study . The data on students’ emotional intelligence and English academic achievement were analyzed by using inferential and descriptive statistics, Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis through SPSS 2 7 for windows to find out whether or not there was correlation between them. The result of the research showed that there was a positive correlation between students’ emotional intelligence and English academic achievement (r = 0.892) It was concluded that the correlation between emotional intelligence English academic achievement of the second year students of SMA Negeri 1 Parepare were very high. This research aimed to found the type of impoliteness they use d and how far it influences the relationship each other. This research was conducted using qualitative research, more specific including as discourse analysis. The population were the English students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Parepare and the subject were two students of the sixth semester. The data were collected by observation, interview, Recording and the data analysis using discourse analysis method namely by extracting all of the conversation to be analyzed. The result of this research showed that (1) the three types of impoliteness used in the verbal communication of the students outside of the classroom. (2) the closer the relationship, the more impolite the verbal communication will be.

The purpose of this research aimed to investigate the influence of Teachers' Self-efficacy on... more The purpose of this research aimed to investigate the influence of Teachers' Self-efficacy on their teaching performance in the classroom setting. The role of teachers' years of teaching experience in their self-efficacy was also investigated. The method applied waa a qualitative descriptive research with interview as the instrument. The participants of this research were two Indonesian EFL teachers. The years of teaching experience were 2 years for novice teacher and 21 years for experienced teacher. The result of this research showed that experienced teacher has higher sense of self-efficacy than novice teacher. It also showed that years of teaching experience influence to teachers' self-efficacy.

This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. The respondents of this research were the second grade of EFL students; the total students were 30 students. The research data were collected by using an instrument namely writing activity. The writing consisted by argumentative text. The data were analyzed qualitatively. The first important finding from this research was about the types of DMs used by the students’ in three kinds of different text, there are 30 types of DMs used by the students in the comparison and compare text and the second important finding was there are four category of functions used by the students in writing activity, they were contrastive markers, inferential markers, elaborative markers, and additional subclasses markers. The purpose of this research was to determine the implementation of character education through center learning, to find out the weaknesses of teachers in implementing character education in the center learning model, and to overcome the weaknesses of teachers in implementing character education through the center learning model. The object of this research is class B of TK Nurhidayah Barru. The efforts made in this research are by observing the playing activities carried out by the teacher in each center learning which includes the preparation center, development center, natural art, and religion. The data collection techniques used were interviews, teacher and student observation, and documentation. The researcher applied quasi-experimental method. The population of this research is the second semester students of English Language Education. There were two classes and it consists of 60 students. The researcher used cluster random sampling technique and divided the class into two groups, one group as experimental group and another as control group. Therefore, each group consisted of 30 students. Based on the students’ result obtained and stated in findings, the researcher used t-test in inferential statistic through SPSS to test the hypothesis. It showed that the probability value is lower than alpha (α) (0.000 < 0.05). It means that H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of Think Talk Write (TTW) strategy improves students’ writing achievement.
