The problem that is often faced in the learning process is the low learning competence obtained b... more The problem that is often faced in the learning process is the low learning competence obtained by students. One of the factors that influence students' learning competence is self-efficacy. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and Biology learning competence of students in class XI MIPA SMAN 1 Hiliran Gumanti. The method used is descriptive correlation using the Spearman rank formula. The results showed that there was a correlation between self-efficacy and Biology learning competence of students with a value of r=0.477 and tcount which was 3.4321 which was greater than t table, which was 2.0218. So, it can be concluded that there is a significant and positive relationship between self-efficacy and Biology learning competence of students in class XI MIPA SMAN 1 Hiliran Gumanti.

However, there is still limited data about preservice teachers’ perception about it. Therefore, the aim of this study is to describe teachers’ perception about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education. This study is a descriptive research using survey method. The data were collected through questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed by using percentage technique. The result shows that there is positive perception among the preservice teachers about STEM education and they are agree of implementing it to educational curriculum in Indonesia.

The course of laboratory knowledge is an introductory course for biology students to follow vario... more The course of laboratory knowledge is an introductory course for biology students to follow various lectures practicing in the biology laboratory. Learning activities of laboratory knowledge course at this time in the Biology Department, Universitas Negeri Padang has not been completed by supporting learning media such as student lab worksheet. Guided inquiry learning model is one of the learning models that can be integrated into laboratory activity. The study aimed to produce student lab worksheet based on guided inquiry for laboratory knowledge course and to determine the validity of lab worksheet. The research was conducted using research and developmet (R&D) model. The instruments used in data collection in this research were questionnaire for student needed analysis and questionnaire to measure the student lab worksheet validity. The data obtained was quantitative from several validators. The validators consist of three lecturers. The percentage of a student lab worksheet validity was 94.18 which can be categorized was very good.

So this research aims to determine the impact of a realistic approach to mathematics education on students' critical thinking abilities. This research is a quasi experimental study with the type of non-equivalent control group design. The research subjects were 29 elementary school students. The results showed t-hitung=6.52 and t-tabel = 1.69092 where t_hitung is greater than the ttabel so that there is a positive influence of the use of Realistic Mathematics Education on the thinking skills of elementary school students, especially in mathematics learning Abstrak: Rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika menggambarkan rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan realistik pendidikan matematika terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental semu dengan jenis desain non-equivalent control group. Subjek penelitian adalah 29 siswa Sekolah Dasar. STEM in education has the aim of preparing students to be competitive and ready to work according to their preferred fields. The benefits of applying STEM Education are to improve critical thinking skills and be creative, logical, innovative, productive and directly related to real conditions. The purpose of this study is to review the implementation of STEM Education models in the early 21st century. Technique of collecting data was through literature study. The part-whole relation concept is important for students to reason about multiplication of fractions. Realistic Mathematics Education which is in Indonesia adapted as Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI) is used as an approach in designing a series of lessons. For this purpose, hypothetical learning trajectory (HLT) became the base for conducting a teaching experiment and designing its learning materials. We might use the SDT point of view to get more insight about motivation in education terminology. Within SDT motivation is classified regarding to its quality and quantity and based on the study by Vansteenkiste et al. (2009) the good quality motivation- high autonomous and low controlled motivation- give a significant influence in improvement of students’ learning outcomes. Therefore, in the classroom of mathematics teachers need support the emergence of the autonomy of the students. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh pendekatan PMRI terhadap kemam... more Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh pendekatan PMRI terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dan bagaimana proses belajar menggunakan pendekatan PMRI terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa di kelas V SD Negeri 44 Kalumbuk Kota Padang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Eksperimen. Desain yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experimental dan rancangannya Posttest Only Control Design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri 44 Kalumbuk Kota Padang, yang terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas VA sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas VB sebagai kelas eksperimen. Data yang diperoleh dengan tes akhir dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan uji normalitas dan homogenitas terhadap kedua data berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji hipotesis dengan uji-t menunjukkan thitung= 3,04 dan ttabel= 1,673 dengan df= 55 dan taraf signifikan 5%. Berdasarkan pengujian thitung > ttabel maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima dengan kesimpulan penggunaan PMRI memberikan pengaruh terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa di kelas V SD Negeri 44 Kalumbuk Kota Padang tahun ajaran 2017/2018.
