Bagi melestarikan pendidikan, fungsi mengajar dan menyelidik perlu bersifat dinamik dan saling memberi-menerima. Selain kawasan pertindihan, kedua-dua domain tersebut sering dihubungkan oleh elemen inovasi. Dalam mendepani dunia tanpa sempadan, aktiviti pengajaran dan penyelidikan dilihat sedang berhadapan dengan cabaran daripada dalam. E-pembelajaran dan bebanan tugasan merupakan antara cabaran yang boleh mengganggu matlamat pengaiaran dan penyelidikan. Oleh itu, keseimbangan amalan dan praktis dalam perkara seumpama itu perlu dititikberatkan.

E - learning has become a necessity in learning today because it has many advantages in the field... more E - learning has become a necessity in learning today because it has many advantages in the field of teaching and learning today. Its use in Arabic language learning is focused on because this subject is regarded as difficult to master by students learning it as a second language Thus, this study is aimed at examining the perception toward the use of e-learning (KeLiP) among students in an Arabic language course in Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). In particular, this article focuses on four main aspects: readiness, awareness, interest in the use of KeLiP and problems that exist throughout the learning process with KeLiP. The survey data were obtained from questionnaires distributed to 69 respondents in UniSZA. The results show that the majority of respondents are willing to use KeLiP, had the awareness of KeLiP, were interested in using it and said they do not face any problems when using KeLiP.

Namun begitu, terdapat kajian menunjukkan tiada perbezaan signifikan antara pelajar lelaki dan pelajar perempuan dalam penggunaan SPB (Chang, 1990; Chou, 2002). The public's tendency towards Palestinian related issues shows that communities, especially the M... more The public's tendency towards Palestinian related issues shows that communities, especially the Malaysians', are keen to seek information on Palestine, particularly concerning al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic jerusalem (Baitul Maqdis). However, the number of mediums of information through mobile smartphones that provide scientific information about al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic jerusalem (Baitul Maqdis) is minimal. Furthermore, the existing apps using one language only; English, Arabic or Malay, make it difficult to obtain the information. The objective of this need analysis is to obtain information on the basic knowledge of the community of al-Aqsa and Baitul Maqdis mosques. An online questionnaire was distributed to implement this purpose, and respondents were selected by convenience sampling. A total of 601 respondents responded to the questionnaire. The study found that out of five (5) parts of the question submitted, 70% of the respondents were unable to answer correctly or chose the answer "did not know" for the questions. Therefore, this study concludes that it is necessary to develop a scientific learning medium which contains the main information relating to the al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic jerusalem (Baitul Maqdis). As the acceptance and use of mobile smartphones as a major medium of information in the community, the development of mobile smartphone applications about the al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic jerusalem (Baitul Maqdis) is essential. Its existence can fill up the loophole of the alternative medium of m-learning related to the Masjid al-Aqsa and Baitul Maqdis in the society.

Selain itu, faktor kepercayaan ini juga dapat mempengaruhi pencapaian bahasa pelajar secara tidak langsung. Oleh itu, kajian ini dijalankan adalah untuk mengenal pasti jenis dan tahap kepercayaan pelajar dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab secara keseluruhan dan berdasarkan konstruk kepercayaan utama. Seramai 350 orang pelajar tingkatan empat dari 12 buah sekolah menengah agama sekitar Kedah dipilih untuk menjawab satu set soal selidik. Data kajian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Abstrak: Beberapa kajian menunjukkan bahawa terdapat perkaitan yang signifikan antara penggunaan ... more Abstrak: Beberapa kajian menunjukkan bahawa terdapat perkaitan yang signifikan antara penggunaan Strategi Pembelajaran Bahasa (SPB) dengan Motivasi Pembelajaran Bahasa (Oxford & Nyikos, 1989; Ehrman, 1990; Macaro, 2001). Kertas ini memerihalkan satu kajian yang direka bentuk untuk mengkaji korelasi di antara SPB dengan Motivasi Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab. Data kajian dikumpul dengan menggunakan soal selidik kendiri yang diubah suai daripada Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) (Oxford, 1990) dengan tambahan satu konstruk baru, dan soal selidik motivasi daripada Affective Survey (Ehrman & Oxford, 1991). Seramai 457 orang pelajar Tingkatan empat yang dipilih secara rawak daripada 13 buah sekolah menengah agama di Terengganu terlibat dengan kajian ini. Ujian statistik Pearson digunakan bagi menjawab soalan kajian dan menguji hipotesis berkaitan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan terdapat korelasi positif yang tinggi di antara SPB secara keseluruhan dengan Motivasi Pembelajaran Bahasa secara keseluruhan. Korelasi bermagnitud positif yang signifikan di antara penggunaan kategori SPB dengan kategori Motivasi Pembelajaran Bahasa turut dapat dikesan. Pelajar yang bermotivasi tinggi lebih kerap dan banyak menggunakan SPB berbanding pelajar yang bermotivasi rendah. The use of social and affective strategies in learning a second or foreign language will help stu... more The use of social and affective strategies in learning a second or foreign language will help students master the language learned. Therefore, this study is conducted to observe the usage level of both strategies among Arabic language students. The sample consists of 460 Form 4 students chosen at random from 13 Religious Secondary Schools in Terengganu, Malaysia. Data was collected by using a self-questionnaire to gauge the use of social and affective strategies. The results of the study showed that the usage level of social and affective strategies among the respondents is low. Hence, a pedagogical implication suggests that students should be made aware of the importance of social and affective strategies by conducting training workshops and maximizing the use of both strategies.

Perbezaan jantina merupakan salah satu faktor yang didapati turut membezakan penggunaan strategi ... more Perbezaan jantina merupakan salah satu faktor yang didapati turut membezakan penggunaan strategi pembelajaran bahasa dalam kalangan pelajar. Oleh itu, kajian ini dijalankan untuk menentukan tahap dan jenis penggunaan strategi pembelajaran kemahiran berbahasa (SPKB) oleh pelajar lelaki dan pelajar perempuan. Data kajian diperoleh melalui soal selidik yang diedarkan kepada 350 orang pelajar tingkatan empat dari 12 buah sekolah menengah agama sekitar Kedah, Malaysia. Dapatan kajian deskriptif menunjukkan kedua-dua kumpulan pelajar menggunakan strategi pada tahap sederhana sama ada secara keseluruhan mahupun berdasarkan konstruk, kecuali pada konstruk strategi membaca, pelajar perempuan menggunakannya pada tahap tinggi. Hasil analisis ujian-t pula menunjukkan terdapat perbezaan signifikan penggunaan SPKB secara keseluruhan dan mengikut lima konstruk strategi utama berdasarkan jantina. Pelajar perempuan didapati mendahului pelajar lelaki dalam penggunaan strategi secara keseluruhan dan berdasarkan lima konstruk strategi utama tersebut. Sementara itu, baki satu konstruk strategi utama iaitu strategi mendengar tidak menunjukkan perbezaan signifikan. Kesimpulannya, pelajar perempuan didapati lebih banyak dan kerap menggunakan strategi pembelajaran bahasa berbanding pelajar lelaki. Implikasi kajian ini, guru boleh merancang pelbagai aktiviti bahasa yang dapat menggalakkan penggunaan sesuatu strategi dengan lebih kerap kepada kumpulan pelajar yang berlainan jantina. This paper reports on one study that sets out to investigate the employment of LLS by students of Arabic language based on level of language learning motivation. A total of 457 students from thirteen Religious Secondary Schools in Terengganu participated in this study. Data was collected by using a questionnaire adapted and modified from SILL (Oxford, 1990) and Language Learning Motivation part of the Affective Survey (Ehrman & Oxford, 1991). The results indicate that students were moderately motivated and language learners with higher level of motivation use LLS more frequently than less motivated language learners. Its use in Arabic language learning is focused on because this subject is regarded as difficult to master by students learning it as a second language Thus, this study is aimed at examining the perception toward the use of e-learning (KeLiP) among students in an Arabic language course in Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). In particular, this article focuses on four main aspects: readiness, awareness, interest in the use of KeLiP and problems that exist throughout the learning process with KeLiP. The survey data were obtained from questionnaires distributed to 69 respondents in UniSZA. The results show that the majority of respondents are willing to use KeLiP, had the awareness of KeLiP, were interested in using it and said they do not face any problems when using KeLiP.

The public's tendency towards Palestinian related issues shows that communities, especially the M... more The public's tendency towards Palestinian related issues shows that communities, especially the Malaysians', are keen to seek information on Palestine, particularly concerning al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic jerusalem (Baitul Maqdis). However, the number of mediums of information through mobile smartphones that provide scientific information about al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic jerusalem (Baitul Maqdis) is minimal. Furthermore, the existing apps using one language only; English, Arabic or Malay, make it difficult to obtain the information. The objective of this need analysis is to obtain information on the basic knowledge of the community of al-Aqsa and Baitul Maqdis mosques. An online questionnaire was distributed to implement this purpose, and respondents were selected by convenience sampling. A total of 601 respondents responded to the questionnaire. The study found that out of five (5) parts of the question submitted, 70% of the respondents were unable to answer correctly or chose the answer "did not know" for the questions. Therefore, this study concludes that it is necessary to develop a scientific learning medium which contains the main information relating to the al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic jerusalem (Baitul Maqdis). As the acceptance and use of mobile smartphones as a major medium of information in the community, the development of mobile smartphone applications about the al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic jerusalem (Baitul Maqdis) is essential. Its existence can fill up the loophole of the alternative medium of m-learning related to the Masjid al-Aqsa and Baitul Maqdis in the society.

Kertas ini memerihalkan satu kajian yang direka bentuk untuk mengkaji korelasi di antara SPB dengan Motivasi Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab. Data kajian dikumpul dengan menggunakan soal selidik kendiri yang diubah suai daripada Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) (Oxford, 1990) dengan tambahan satu konstruk baru, dan soal selidik motivasi daripada Affective Survey (Ehrman & Oxford, 1991). Seramai 457 orang pelajar Tingkatan empat yang dipilih secara rawak daripada 13 buah sekolah menengah agama di Terengganu terlibat dengan kajian ini. Ujian statistik Pearson digunakan bagi menjawab soalan kajian dan menguji hipotesis berkaitan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan terdapat korelasi positif yang tinggi di antara SPB secara keseluruhan dengan Motivasi Pembelajaran Bahasa secara keseluruhan. Korelasi bermagnitud positif yang signifikan di antara penggunaan kategori SPB dengan kategori Motivasi Pembelajaran Bahasa turut dapat dikesan. The use of social and affective strategies in learning a second or foreign language will help stu... more The use of social and affective strategies in learning a second or foreign language will help students master the language learned. Therefore, this study is conducted to observe the usage level of both strategies among Arabic language students. The sample consists of 460 Form 4 students chosen at random from 13 Religious Secondary Schools in Terengganu, Malaysia. Data was collected by using a self-questionnaire to gauge the use of social and affective strategies. The results of the study showed that the usage level of social and affective strategies among the respondents is low. Hence, a pedagogical implication suggests that students should be made aware of the importance of social and affective strategies by conducting training workshops and maximizing the use of both strategies.

Perbezaan jantina merupakan salah satu faktor yang didapati turut membezakan penggunaan strategi ... more Perbezaan jantina merupakan salah satu faktor yang didapati turut membezakan penggunaan strategi pembelajaran bahasa dalam kalangan pelajar. Oleh itu, kajian ini dijalankan untuk menentukan tahap dan jenis penggunaan strategi pembelajaran kemahiran berbahasa (SPKB) oleh pelajar lelaki dan pelajar perempuan. Data kajian diperoleh melalui soal selidik yang diedarkan kepada 350 orang pelajar tingkatan empat dari 12 buah sekolah menengah agama sekitar Kedah, Malaysia. Dapatan kajian deskriptif menunjukkan kedua-dua kumpulan pelajar menggunakan strategi pada tahap sederhana sama ada secara keseluruhan mahupun berdasarkan konstruk, kecuali pada konstruk strategi membaca, pelajar perempuan menggunakannya pada tahap tinggi. Hasil analisis ujian-t pula menunjukkan terdapat perbezaan signifikan penggunaan SPKB secara keseluruhan dan mengikut lima konstruk strategi utama berdasarkan jantina. Pelajar perempuan didapati mendahului pelajar lelaki dalam penggunaan strategi secara keseluruhan dan berdasarkan lima konstruk strategi utama tersebut. Sementara itu, baki satu konstruk strategi utama iaitu strategi mendengar tidak menunjukkan perbezaan signifikan. Kesimpulannya, pelajar perempuan didapati lebih banyak dan kerap menggunakan strategi pembelajaran bahasa berbanding pelajar lelaki. Implikasi kajian ini, guru boleh merancang pelbagai aktiviti bahasa yang dapat menggalakkan penggunaan sesuatu strategi dengan lebih kerap kepada kumpulan pelajar yang berlainan jantina.
