Objectives: The present study aims to identify the main lines of research in the field of acne treatment using reproducible scientometric methods. In this article, we reviewed the following research trends: facial acne, different antibiotics, retinoids, anti-inflammatory drugs, epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors therapy, and associated diseases. Methods: The analysis of publications from the PubMed collection was carried out from 1871 to 2022. All data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel. The evolution of the terminological portrait of the disease is shown. Results: Trends in the use of various groups of antibiotics, retinoids, anti-inflammatory drugs, and photodynamic therapy for acne treatment have been found. There is a growing interest in clindamycin and doxycycline (polynomial and exponential growth, respectively). The effects of isotretinoin are also being stu...

Link indicators are defined as a number or matrix of numerical values that characterize the intensity and various aspects of the knowledge transfer from different research areas to the technological area. A description of primary information resources used to determine these indicator values, including full-text patent specifications, is given. A description of secondary information resources generated in the process of full-text specification, including reference links on scientific publications cited in the specifications, is represented. Initial and secondary resources are used to create and test an indicator-based information model for the assessment of science and technology links, on whose basis the integral and subject indicator values of the scientific knowledge rate of transfer to the information technology are determined.

The proposed technology for the construction of the classification scheme involves two main steps: the automated formation of a classification heading list and the development of a scheme based on the generated list. The developed method of automated heading formation makes it possible to create verifiable classifications for a wide range of subject areas in which methods of text (and other information objects) processing are applied, for example, in the field of scientific and technical information.

The proposed methodology included several stages. First, an experimental array of documents retrieved from PubMed database was generated. Then two groups of terms were formed based on the documents of the array. The terms of the first group referred to the general description of the disease (general terms). The terms of the second group referred to its early stage (original terms). The terms of both groups were divided into seven categories. Next, an expert comparison was made between both groups of terms in each category. Using the methodology, the following results were obtained. The most significant terms for the general course of the disease and for the early stage were identified. The terminological portrait of breast cancer including two corresponding parts (general course and early stage) w...

On the basis of this corpus, a Database of functionally equivalent lexico- grammatical verbal forms is being created. The main purpose of database creation is to calculate statistical estimates of equivalences between Russian and French verbal forms. The paper discusses information technology for creating the Russian-French multivariant parallel corpus and the database.

These processes are aimed at generating expert knowledge bases in different subject areas. Now we are studying this generating in scientometric and linguistic investigations. Our prime application aim is to create an expert knowledge base about new developed indicators for monitoring and evaluating implementation of R&D programs. Our approach consists of the six-part semiotic framework and two semiotic models for a description of development stages of indicators: the frozen-state model for describing a state of the process of indicator development and the time-dependent model for identifying a dynamics of the process of indicator development. These models are based on the Frege’s triangle, which consists of concept, name and denotatum vertices. For each state of new developed indicator these three vertices of the triangle are the sign-meaning (the indicator concept), the sign-form (the indicator nam...

Research paper thumbnail of New Knowledge Creation by Collaborating Goal-Oriented Experts: Methodology and Models

The topic of the paper is a methodology and models for interactive knowledge creation processes. ... more The topic of the paper is a methodology and models for interactive knowledge creation processes. It is assumed that a knowledge system is being evolved by a team of collaborating experts that creates new evaluation indicators for research and their meanings. We proceed from the notion of a goal-oriented knowledge system. The experts team creates this system to fill a knowledge gap in an evaluation area. The gap can be identified through observation of the subject area. We define a goal-oriented knowledge system as an expert-created system of concepts generated for filling the knowledge gap. The main emphasis is placed on a methodology and models for new knowledge creation by collaborating experts. We have studied relationships between emerging indicators’ meanings and their volatile denotata as new knowledge sources. In our study denotata are represented by indicators data together with computer programs for indicators calculation. According to the methodology, experts using compute...

These processes are aimed to generate goal-oriented knowledge system (GOKS) in different domains. A GOKS is generated by an expert collective that creates new meanings using a changeable constellation of signs including personal (expert), collective, and conventional signs, their sign-forms and sign-meanings (Zatsman 2009a: 77). During knowledge creating process, experts are tracing an emerging meaning evolution by computer. In recent years, a number of authors have explored knowledge creation and sharing using computerized support (e.g., Tang 2005: 437-443). Habitual approaches presuppose usage of keywords as semiotic signs with stable relationships between their sign-meanings and sign-forms. In contrast, the paper takes an entirely different approach to the study of knowledge creation and sharing. The main emphasis is placed on computer-fixed relationships between emerging meanings and...

Goal-oriented linguistic activities require advanced brainstorming technologies so as to assure new knowledge discovery, provided that asynchronous strategies are employed. The Web knowledge base would support asynchronous activities of its users who may happen to be distributed spatially and temporally. In the first part of the paper, we suggest a framework for such a base. Within this framework, asynchronous brainstorming is implemented by means of Web technologies and the base allows producing structured descriptions of new knowledge parts generated by all users. There are some specific original features that make the framework novel. For example, we consider Nakamori-Wierzbicki's creative space in terms of time, establishing a correspondence between asynchronous processes of knowledge creation and discrete ...

The main emphasis is on technology drivers of knowledge creation and tracing emerging personal concepts. For better understanding of knowledge emergence, we start our study by examining a temporal triangle (volatile concept – nonconventional form of concept representation – denotatum) in contrast to the semiotic triangle (lasting concept – conventional form of concept representation – denotatum). The temporal triangle set is used to analyze emerging personal concepts and to trace their evolution by computers of the evaluation system in science.

For the description of stages of these microprocesses, a new notion of “Frege’s space“ is introduced. This dictionary enables experts to fix stages of indicators development, to present the results of developing different variants of indicators in graphic form, to compare and evaluate these variants.
