Cyberspace with various Internet applications has provided opportunities to women online entrepre... more Cyberspace with various Internet applications has provided opportunities to women online entrepreneur to increase their social contact with others which eventually became their patrons, agents or suppliers. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which digital inclusion and support system affect the empowerment of online women entrepreneurs in Malaysia. Further, the objective of the study was to identify the relationship between the factors of digital inclusion and support system towards the empowerment of women online entrepreneurs. The respondents of the study included 402 women online entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 to 50, who were involved in online business. This study employed quantitative approach for collecting data, in the form of online survey and face-to-face interviews. Using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) to analyze the data, the result revealed that 76 % of the participants used WhatsApp frequently as the main Internet application in running their business. They were also actively communicating with their customers and suppliers via online. By using the multiple regression analysis, the study found that the communication bonding was the main contributor to the empowerment of women online entrepreneurs. Besides, the result also revealed there was a significant relationship between support system and empowerment of women online entrepreneurs and it has contributed about 19 percent to the variant. Therefore, the results of this study showed that digital inclusion and support system had a significant relationship towards empowerment of women online entrepreneur.

Di era teknologi, fokus kini tertumpu kepada penggunaan media sosial sebagai alat perkongsian dan penyebaran maklumat. Secara khususnya, pelbagai kelebihan yang ditawarkan oleh media sosial harus digunakan secara efektif. Ini meliputi juga penyebaran pelbagai mesej komunikasi dakwah seiring dengan konsep amar maaruf nahi munkar yang dititikberatkan dalam Islam. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau sejauh mana penggunaan media sosial mempengaruhi penerimaan mesej dakwah dalam kalangan mahasiswa. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti faktor yang mempengaruhi penggunaan media sosial yang berperanan mempengaruhi tahap penerimaan mesej dakwah melalui media sosial. Data diperolehi daripada 99 responden yang berumur 18 hingga 27 tahun dan secara aktif menggunakan media sosial. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kuantitatif yang dilakukan menerusi tinjauan dengan mengedarkan borang soal selidik kepada responden yang terdiri daripada pelajar jurusan Asasi, Diploma dan Sarjana Muda di Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS). Dengan menggunakan analisa SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences), hasil kajian mendapati 83% responden telah menggunakan media sosial melebihi tempoh 3 tahun dan majoriti 61% responden melayari media sosial Facebook sebagai pilihan utama. Hasil ujian regresi pelbagai pula mendapati penerimaan mesej dakwah di media sosial dalam kalangan mahasiswa banyak dipengaruhi oleh faktor ciri interaktif yang didapati di media sosial sebagai penyumbang utama. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa ciri-ciri interaktif yang diperoleh daripada media sosial telah mempengaruhi tahap penerimaan mesej dakwah dalam kalangan mahasiswa.

There are a combined of 2.3 billion registered users for the ten most popular social networking websites worldwide (Socialnomics.net 2011). It is therefore to say the social media are technologies that have revolutionized the way people communicate and interact in their daily life. The purpose of this study was to examine the usage of social media among foundation students as they are considered the Y generation. It was also to show the usage of social media in a campus environment can have outcomes to the students. This study was developed based on the user and gratification theory (Blumler & Kartz, 1974). Two variables have been used; usage and outcomes. Relationships between usage of social media and the outcomes were examined. In this study, a survey was administered to a sample of 185 foundation students at Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS) on social media usage, purpose of social media usage and the outcomes of social media use specifically in academic performance. Findings indicated that all of the sampled foundation students were using at least one form of social media website. Findings disclosed that there is a positive relationship exists between purpose of social media usage and its outcomes on students' academic performance.

Internet usage through ICT revolution, not only function as channels of communication and source of information but also as a tool for business strategy. The purpose of this study is to determine to what extent the Internet usage affects the digital inclusion among women entrepreneurs in Malaysia. The objective of this study is to identify the relationship between Internet utilization factors that have the role to influence digital inclusion among women entrepreneurs. Data were collected from 402 women entrepreneurs that aged 18 to 50 years who conduct an online business. Questionnaires had been distributed through two methods namely by face-toface interview and online survey. By using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) analysis, the results found that 46% respondents had used Internet exceeding period of 10 years and 32% respondents accessed Internet exceeding period of 29 hours in one week. On the other hand, the analysis of multiple regression find out that the digital inclusion among women entrepreneurs is influenced a lot by their Internet usage skill as a major contributor. Nevertheless, the motivation of Internet use and the frequency of access to Internet application are also providing a significant contribution on digital inclusion. This study showed that digital inclusion among women entrepreneurs certainly spurred by their skill of Internet use that enable them to actively access, seek information and communicating online.

Spesifiknya, dalam aspek penglibatan pengguna dalam berinteraksi melalui dalam talian (online interaction) menerusi media sosial seperti Facebook, Blog, Twitter dan MySpace. Secara amnya, penglibatan dalam media sosial adalah satu fenomena baru yang dialami oleh masyarakat yang dilihat mempunyai implikasi terhadap proses komunikasi dan interaksi serta memberikan kepuasan terhadap mereka. Objektif utama kajian ini adalah untuk melihat hubungan tujuan dengan kepuasan yang mempengaruhi keterlibatan dalam media sosial dalam kalangan mahasiswa. Selain itu, kajian ini juga adalah untuk meninjau implikasi sosial terhadap individu yang aktif menggunakan media sosial. Teori Kegunaan dan Kepuasan (Uses and Gratification) digunakan sebagai panduan penyelidikan yang menerangkan bahawa manusia mencapai tahap kepuasan tertentu dalam menggunakan media. Kajian ini dijalankan dengan menggunakan kaedah kuantitatif iaitu kaedah tinjauan dan memperoleh hasil dapatan kajian daripada 101 orang responden yang terdiri daripada mahasiswa/i Diploma Komunikasi di Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS). Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa tujuan penggunaan media sosial sangat signifikan dengan kepuasan yang diperolehi seperti kepuasan untuk mengelakkan kesunyian, mencari hiburan dan maklumat, mengeratkan hubungan dan permainan dalam talian. Selain itu, terdapat juga implikasi yang positif terhadap komunikasi responden dalam mewujudkan kemahiran berinteraksi serta perkongsian maklumat yang pantas dan mudah.

Tingkah laku kepimpinan yang sesuai dalam sesebuah organisasi dilihat sebagai suatu yang amat penting untuk menentukan kejayaan atau kegagalan organisasi tersebut. Pembentukan budaya kerja 5S yang cemerlang bergantung pada tingkah laku kepimpinan dalam sesebuah organisasi. Penggunaan tingkah laku kepimpinan yang sesuai akan membantu organisasi untuk membentuk budaya kerja 5S dengan lebih berkesan. Kajian ini memfokuskan kepada hubungan tingkah laku kepimpinan dengan budaya kerja 5S dalam sektor awam di Putrajaya. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk melihat hubungan tingkah laku kepimpinan dengan budaya kerja 5S dalam kalangan kakitangan kumpulan sokongan sektor awam di Putrajaya. Kaedah kajian dengan mengedarkan borang soal selidik kepada 156 responden yang terdiri daripada kakitangan kumpulan sokongan sektor awam di Putrajaya. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa pembolehubah tingkah laku kepimpinan dalam kajian ini mempunyai hubungan yang positif dengan budaya kerja 5S. Diharapkan dengan maklumat yang diperolehi daripada hasil kajian dan pendekatan tingkah laku kepimpinan yang telah dikenalpasti dapat meningkatkan keberkesanan dalam melaksanakan budaya kerja 5S.

Kesan ini telah melahirkan intipati penonton terhadap rancangan bual bicara yang menggabungkan unsur-unsur pengetahuan, pemikiran dan hiburan sebagai satu pilihan alternatif penonton yang dahagakan sumber informasi yang berkualiti. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau keperluan dan kepuasan golongan muda terhadap rancangan bual bicara berbahasa Inggeris -Hello On Two. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk melihat perkaitan atau hubungan keperluan dengan tahap kepuasan penontonan. Kaedah tinjauan digunakan untuk mengumpul data dengan seramai 173 orang golongan muda yang terdiri dari pelbagai latar belakang telah dijadikan sebagai responden kajian. Dengan menggunakan teori Kegunaan dan Kepuasan, hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa golongan muda menonton rancangan bual bicara Hello On Two untuk memenuhi keperluan interaksi sosial dan mereka merasa kurang puas dengan rancangan Hello On Two kerana kurang memperoleh maklumat terkini dan isu semasa.

The study of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and media is not something exceptionally new i... more The study of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and media is not something exceptionally new in the field of communication. CSR can be defined as how companies manage the business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society (Seitel, 2006). There are three main objectives of this study; 1) to observe the knowledge and level of awareness of CSR among respondents, 2) to look at the influence of media in creating public's knowledge on CSR, 3) to study the effectiveness of D.I.K.A (Data-Information-Knowledge-Action) model in constructing knowledge of CSR. This study was conducted using survey method and results are generated from questionnaire distributed to respondents (N=60). The respondents for this study are the Pegawai Tadbir Diplomatik (PTD). The results show that 1) the respondents level of awareness on CSR are moderate to low however they think that CSR is essential to be practiced by organizations in Malaysia, 2) written media are found to bring more influence on respondents on CSR, 3) the model is effective until stage four (action) as the respondents think they will support and participate in CSR activities. As conclusion, most of the respondents believe that CSR is vital to the growth of the country and social development in the future.
For centuries, television is being blamed for children becoming aggressive in later life because ... more For centuries, television is being blamed for children becoming aggressive in later life because of its content. Anime programme such as Naruto, Pokemon, Digimon, and Astro Boy contain more aggressive behaviour compared to any other type of programming. Therefore, this study identifies the impact of anime on school children's aggressive behaviour. In accordance to this perspective, the objectives of this research are: 1) to investigate the children's initial attitudes towards anime aired on television, 2) to examine children's acceptance on the aggressive character, characterization, and storyline of anime aired on television, 3) to determine children's aggressive reaction to their surrounding after every episode seen, and 4) to ascertain children's feeling after they react aggressively towards their surroundings. This study was conducted on 135 students of Standard Six of Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Cheras Jaya, Balakong, Selangor. Results indicate that most of the students say anime is fun because it has interestingness, realism, humour, and also violence. The students believed that those programme contributes to aggressive behaviour. Most of the students would learn and imitate from their observation through those programme. However, they disagreed that anime can turn them into someone else. If they feel being intimidated, the students would hit, attack, or kick that particular person. This study also revealed that the students most likely feel bad when hurting other people and therefore they would never behave aggressively towards their surroundings.

Digital inclusion is the ability of individuals and groups of people to access and use the inform... more Digital inclusion is the ability of individuals and groups of people to access and use the information and communication technology (ICT) in various aspects in line with the development of the latest technological revolution. The study examines the practice of digital inclusion in the entrepreneurial sector and explains the extent to which and how this digital inclusion occurs among entrepreneurs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Klang Valley (Shah Alam and Kuala Lumpur) areas. The preliminary survey was conducted using a quantitative method. Sets of questionnaires were used as data collection on 100 respondents comprising entrepreneurs (SMEs) aged 18 to 55. A sample selection was determined earlier by following the set criteria as in the current SME guidelines. Four digital domains of digital inclusion that have been identified are: 1) social networking, 2) information seeking, 3) e-commerce and 4) advertising and marketing. The descriptive analysis using frequency, percentage and mean were used to illustrate the results and objectives of the study. The findings show that majority of the respondents has used ICT in less than three years. The instruments reliability tests showed that most of the items were reliable and reached the Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.93. In terms of the digital inclusion, the result shows that they used ICT in seeking new customers, seeking information about similar products, doing online transaction with suppliers and to advertise their product in the web. In sum, the study found that most of entrepreneurs used ICT actively and got involved with the online system for their business development.

This development also involves ICT usage in areas of business that become one of the sources in national economic growth. Malaysian Government had conducted various initiatives to support ICT usage in business among entrepreneurs. The Industrial Revolution 4.0 become catalyst to a new business environment that based on the ICT platform. This study carried out to understand affective need that found in the Uses and Gratification Theory elements in influencing ICT usage among Malay women entrepreneurs. Qualitative approach has been used by interview profoundly women entrepreneurs around Negeri Sembilan and Bangi. The result found between affective need elements which influence ICT usage among informants is because it is easy to use, the difference in experience facing by entrepreneurs while using ICT applications and tools and the process of delivering fast and easy information. Study also found that informants use ICT in business to improve access to clients and other entrepreneurial partner. Additionally, reliance to ICT had become something important in increasing business performance to achieve optimum level. This study give implication to ICT usage among Malay women entrepreneurs especially to increase digital economy and to be prepared for the industrial revolution 4.0.

The advent of new technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), big data, data mining, peer-to-p... more The advent of new technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), big data, data mining, peer-to-peer (P2P), and consumer-to-consumer (C2C) adds to the way entrepreneurs use technology in their business. This study attempts to identify the current domains of digital inclusion of entrepreneurs particularly for small and medium businesses in Malaysia through literature reviewing. Currently, the domains of digital inclusion do not add up to the inclusion of this new technologies by the entrepreneurs and some of the technologies used had become obsolete. Furthermore, doing business without the Internet is a must nowadays for higher and speedier market coverage. Therefore, the issue of digital divide is no longer an excuse for a businessman. Several business domains of the digital inclusion had been identified in the literatures. They are social networking, entertainment, business information search, e-commerce, business website, advertising and e-marketing. In this preliminary analysis, these domains are divided in such a way so as to distinguish the different used of techniques in business or marketing. The study participants included 402 women entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 50 years, who were conducting an online business. There were two data collection methods-namely, face-to-face interviews and an online survey. Using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) to analyze the data, the results revealed that 46% of the study participants had used the Internet for more than 10 years and 32% spent more than 29 hours per week on the Internet. Furthermore, the multiple regression analysis uncovered that Internet usage skills were the number one contributor to the digital inclusion of women entrepreneurs. However, the results also revealed that the motivation for using the Internet and the frequency of accessing Internet applications were significant contributors to digital inclusion. Spesifiknya, dalam aspek penglibatan pengguna dalam berinteraksi melalui dalam talian (online interaction) menerusi media sosial seperti Facebook, Blog, Twitter dan MySpace. Secara amnya, penglibatan dalam media sosial adalah satu fenomena baru yang dialami oleh masyarakat yang dilihat mempunyai implikasi terhadap proses komunikasi dan interaksi serta memberikan kepuasan terhadap mereka. Objektif utama kajian ini adalah untuk melihat hubungan tujuan dengan kepuasan yang mempengaruhi keterlibatan dalam media sosial dalam kalangan mahasiswa. Selain itu, kajian ini juga adalah untuk meninjau implikasi sosial terhadap individu yang aktif menggunakan media sosial. Teori Kegunaan dan Kepuasan (Uses and Gratification) digunakan sebagai panduan penyelidikan yang menerangkan bahawa manusia mencapai tahap kepuasan tertentu dalam menggunakan media. Kajian ini dijalankan dengan menggunakan kaedah kuantitatif iaitu kaedah tinjauan dan memperoleh hasil dapatan kajian daripada 101 orang responden yang terdiri daripada mahasiswa/i Diploma Komunikasi di Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS). Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa tujuan penggunaan media sosial sangat signifikan dengan kepuasan yang diperolehi seperti kepuasan untuk mengelakkan kesunyian, mencari hiburan dan maklumat, mengeratkan hubungan dan permainan dalam talian. Selain itu, terdapat juga implikasi yang positif terhadap komunikasi responden dalam mewujudkan kemahiran berinteraksi serta perkongsian maklumat yang pantas dan mudah.

Tingkah laku kepimpinan yang sesuai dalam sesebuah organisasi dilihat sebagai suatu yang amat penting untuk menentukan kejayaan atau kegagalan organisasi tersebut. Pembentukan budaya kerja 5S yang cemerlang bergantung pada tingkah laku kepimpinan dalam sesebuah organisasi. Penggunaan tingkah laku kepimpinan yang sesuai akan membantu organisasi untuk membentuk budaya kerja 5S dengan lebih berkesan. Kajian ini memfokuskan kepada hubungan tingkah laku kepimpinan dengan budaya kerja 5S dalam sektor awam di Putrajaya. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk melihat hubungan tingkah laku kepimpinan dengan budaya kerja 5S dalam kalangan kakitangan kumpulan sokongan sektor awam di Putrajaya. Kaedah kajian dengan mengedarkan borang soal selidik kepada 156 responden yang terdiri daripada kakitangan kumpulan sokongan sektor awam di Putrajaya. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa pembolehubah tingkah laku kepimpinan dalam kajian ini mempunyai hubungan yang positif dengan budaya kerja 5S. Diharapkan dengan maklumat yang diperolehi daripada hasil kajian dan pendekatan tingkah laku kepimpinan yang telah dikenalpasti dapat meningkatkan keberkesanan dalam melaksanakan budaya kerja 5S.

Kesan ini telah melahirkan intipati penonton terhadap rancangan bual bicara yang menggabungkan unsur-unsur pengetahuan, pemikiran dan hiburan sebagai satu pilihan alternatif penonton yang dahagakan sumber informasi yang berkualiti. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau keperluan dan kepuasan golongan muda terhadap rancangan bual bicara berbahasa Inggeris -Hello On Two. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk melihat perkaitan atau hubungan keperluan dengan tahap kepuasan penontonan. Kaedah tinjauan digunakan untuk mengumpul data dengan seramai 173 orang golongan muda yang terdiri dari pelbagai latar belakang telah dijadikan sebagai responden kajian. Dengan menggunakan teori Kegunaan dan Kepuasan, hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa golongan muda menonton rancangan bual bicara Hello On Two untuk memenuhi keperluan interaksi sosial dan mereka merasa kurang puas dengan rancangan Hello On Two kerana kurang memperoleh maklumat terkini dan isu semasa.

CSR can be defined as how companies manage the business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society (Seitel, 2006). There are three main objectives of this study; 1) to observe the knowledge and level of awareness of CSR among respondents, 2) to look at the influence of media in creating public's knowledge on CSR, 3) to study the effectiveness of D.I.K.A (Data-Information-Knowledge-Action) model in constructing knowledge of CSR. This study was conducted using survey method and results are generated from questionnaire distributed to respondents (N=60). The respondents for this study are the Pegawai Tadbir Diplomatik (PTD). The results show that 1) the respondents level of awareness on CSR are moderate to low however they think that CSR is essential to be practiced by organizations in Malaysia, 2) written media are found to bring more influence on respondents on CSR, 3) the model is effective until stage four (action) as the respondents think they will support and participate in CSR activities. As conclusion, most of the respondents believe that CSR is vital to the growth of the country and social development in the future.

Anime programme such as Naruto, Pokemon, Digimon, and Astro Boy contain more aggressive behaviour compared to any other type of programming. Therefore, this study identifies the impact of anime on school children's aggressive behaviour. In accordance to this perspective, the objectives of this research are: 1) to investigate the children's initial attitudes towards anime aired on television, 2) to examine children's acceptance on the aggressive character, characterization, and storyline of anime aired on television, 3) to determine children's aggressive reaction to their surrounding after every episode seen, and 4) to ascertain children's feeling after they react aggressively towards their surroundings. This study was conducted on 135 students of Standard Six of Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Cheras Jaya, Balakong, Selangor. Results indicate that most of the students say anime is fun because it has interestingness, realism, humour, and also violence. The students believed that those programme contributes to aggressive behaviour. Most of the students would learn and imitate from their observation through those programme. However, they disagreed that anime can turn them into someone else. If they feel being intimidated, the students would hit, attack, or kick that particular person. This study also revealed that the students most likely feel bad when hurting other people and therefore they would never behave aggressively towards their surroundings.

The study examines the practice of digital inclusion in the entrepreneurial sector and explains the extent to which and how this digital inclusion occurs among entrepreneurs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Klang Valley (Shah Alam and Kuala Lumpur) areas. The preliminary survey was conducted using a quantitative method. Sets of questionnaires were used as data collection on 100 respondents comprising entrepreneurs (SMEs) aged 18 to 55. A sample selection was determined earlier by following the set criteria as in the current SME guidelines. Four digital domains of digital inclusion that have been identified are: 1) social networking, 2) information seeking, 3) e-commerce and 4) advertising and marketing. The descriptive analysis using frequency, percentage and mean were used to illustrate the results and objectives of the study. The findings show that majority of the respondents has used ICT in less than three years. The instruments reliability tests showed that most of the items were reliable and reached the Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.93. In terms of the digital inclusion, the result shows that they used ICT in seeking new customers, seeking information about similar products, doing online transaction with suppliers and to advertise their product in the web. In sum, the study found that most of entrepreneurs used ICT actively and got involved with the online system for their business development.

This development also involves ICT usage in areas of business that become one of the sources in national economic growth. Malaysian Government had conducted various initiatives to support ICT usage in business among entrepreneurs. The Industrial Revolution 4.0 become catalyst to a new business environment that based on the ICT platform. This study carried out to understand affective need that found in the Uses and Gratification Theory elements in influencing ICT usage among Malay women entrepreneurs. Qualitative approach has been used by interview profoundly women entrepreneurs around Negeri Sembilan and Bangi. The result found between affective need elements which influence ICT usage among informants is because it is easy to use, the difference in experience facing by entrepreneurs while using ICT applications and tools and the process of delivering fast and easy information. Study also found that informants use ICT in business to improve access to clients and other entrepreneurial partner. Additionally, reliance to ICT had become something important in increasing business performance to achieve optimum level. This study give implication to ICT usage among Malay women entrepreneurs especially to increase digital economy and to be prepared for the industrial revolution 4.0.

This study attempts to identify the current domains of digital inclusion of entrepreneurs particularly for small and medium businesses in Malaysia through literature reviewing. Currently, the domains of digital inclusion do not add up to the inclusion of this new technologies by the entrepreneurs and some of the technologies used had become obsolete. Furthermore, doing business without the Internet is a must nowadays for higher and speedier market coverage. Therefore, the issue of digital divide is no longer an excuse for a businessman. Several business domains of the digital inclusion had been identified in the literatures. They are social networking, entertainment, business information search, e-commerce, business website, advertising and e-marketing. In this preliminary analysis, these domains are divided in such a way so as to distinguish the different used of techniques in business or marketing. The purpose of this study is to examine the usage of social media among foundation students and t... more The purpose of this study is to examine the usage of social media among foundation students and to show how the usage of social media in a campus environment can produce outcomes for the students. Two variables were used; usage and outcomes. Relationships between the usage of social media and gender were also examined. In this study, a survey was administered to a sample consisted of 185 foundation students at KUIS on social media usage, the purpose of social media usage and the outcomes of social media in academic performance. The results indicated that all of the sampled foundation students used at least one form of social media website. The findings disclosed that a positive relationship exists between the purpose of social media usage and its outcomes on students' academic performance.
The information and communication technology (ICT) revolution has had tremendous effects on vario... more The information and communication technology (ICT) revolution has had tremendous effects on various aspects of life and the communication system. The ICT revolution has affected Internet usage not only in terms of opening up channels of communication and sources of information but also in making it a business strategy tool. The purpose of this study was to determine to the extent to which Internet usage affects the digital inclusion of women entrepreneurs in Malaysia. Further, the objective of the study was to identify the relationship between the factors of Internet usage and the digital inclusion of women entrepreneurs. The study participants included 402 women entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 50 years, who were conducting an online business. There were two data collection methods-namely, face-to-face interviews and an online survey. Using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) to analyze the data, the results revealed that 46% of the study participants had used the Internet for more than 10 years and 32% spent more than 29 hours per week on the Internet. Furthermore, the multiple regression analysis uncovered that Internet usage skills were the number one contributor to the digital inclusion of women entrepreneurs. However, the results also revealed that the motivation for using the Internet and the frequency of accessing Internet applications were significant contributors to digital inclusion. The results of this study show that women entrepreneurs' Internet skills certainly spur their digital inclusion and enable them to retrieve information and communicate online and conduct e-transactions.
Perniagaan atas talian telah menjadi satu fenomena dalam kalangan usahawan wanita khususnya. Deng... more Perniagaan atas talian telah menjadi satu fenomena dalam kalangan usahawan wanita khususnya. Dengan pelbagai aplikasi yang dapat diakses melalui internet, ia menjadikan sesebuah perniagaan itu berkembang secara lebih global. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau sejauhmana penyertaan digital melalui pelbagai aplikasi atas talian mempengaruhi pemerkasaan usahawan wanita. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk melihat hubungan faktor penyertaan digital dan ciri-ciri keusahawanan atas talian yang berperanan memperkasakan usahawan wanita. Soal selidik telah diedarkan melalui dua kaedah iaitu secara bersemuka dan secara atas talian (online survey) kepada seramai 402 responden wanita yang berumur 18 hingga 50 tahun. Responden wanita yang ditemu bual dan mengisi soal selidik secara atas talian adalah mereka yang menjalankan perniagaan atas talian dengan menggunakan pelbagai aplikasi internet. Hasil kajian mendapati 74% responden telah menjadikan internet sebagai sumber mencari maklumat berkenaan keusahawanan dan 86% responden secara aktif berhubung dengan pelanggan melalui internet. Dengan menggunakan analisis ujian regresi pelbagai, hasil kajian juga mendapati pemerkasaan usahawan wanita banyak dipengaruhi oleh risiko perniagaan dan inovasi produk sebagai penyumbang utama. Walau bagaimanapun, penyertaan digital juga memberikan sumbangan yang signifikan terhadap pemerkasaan usahawan wanita melalui aktiviti komunikasi perniagaan dan pencarian sumber maklumat melalui internet.
