Dr (Tpl). Bosun Akinde was born on the 3rd of March 1977 to the Royal Family of Agbokejoye in Ilogbo-Eremi, Lagos State, Nigeria. He has PhD in Housing and Urban Development from Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos. His primary education in Methodist Primary School Ado-Odo, secondary education at Maun Community High School, Ogun State. His areas of academic emphasis include Housing Quality, Urban-Rural Planning and Urban Development. He is a Member, Nigerian Institute of Town Planners(NITP), Registered Member, Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria(TOPREC), Member, American Planning Association (APA) and Member, Association of Nigerian Geographers(ANG)

It is against this backdrop that many emerging economies have embarked on economic restructuring and Nigeria is no exception. For a country like Nigeria with her vision 20:20, which is geared towards making her amongst the top 20 economies in the world, there is a need for her small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to play the leading role in this regard. In recent years, most of the urban centers in Nigeria are fast experiencing housing problems such... more In recent years, most of the urban centers in Nigeria are fast experiencing housing problems such as unaffordable housing and environmental challenges, all of which determine the nature of housing quality. This research centers on Iba Low Cost Housing Estate, Ojo and the Unity Low Cost Housing Estate Alimosho to carry out a comparative analysis of the residential quality. The research reveals the dilapidated state of the public estate infrastructures due to poor management, thus recommended constant upgrading of infrastructures in the estate and an establishment of local housing trust funds for the development of affordable housing to reduce the pressure on available ones.
