First of all, it has Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and secondly, it has Freddie Highmore who is unbelievably endearing. And the music? OMG. Which brings me back to my point of my Jonny, who I've been in love with since well, Velvet Goldmine, and also MI3 was watchable because he was in it (and the whole running Tom Cruise scene was kinda cool). But Jonathan Rhys Meyers can totally sing, man! It was pretty exciting. There were these two ladies who had come in the day before and bought three 500giftcardsusingaIDverifiedcreditcard.Itwassomewhatsuspicious(becauseseriously,∗∗three∗∗500 gift cards using a ID verified credit card. It was somewhat suspicious (because seriously, three 500giftcardsusingaIDverifiedcreditcard.Itwassomewhatsuspicious(becauseseriously,∗∗three∗∗500 gift cards?), so we voided the transatction afterward. Then a couple hours later we got a call from a Pier 1 that was about three hours away. They were calling because the people had tried to use the gift cards. We told them what had happened, and instead of getting like... I dunno, mad about the $1500 they hadn't got on their cards, the people just left instead. Odd.Then yesterday ANOTHER Pier 1 store, again another two or three hours away in another direction, called to say that they'd purchased a bed set (headboard, frame, etc.), and they would like to purchase a footboard from our store. So these ladies had paid in cash this time, but had put down the same name on the order form as the other ladies. We thought they would be the same people. So we got the security guard in our complex down to help us if there was a conflict or something, and we were all covert and, "They're gonna be driving a Uhaul van..." kinda things. Then the ladies came in and it was different ladies than who had been there before. BUT THEY PAID IN CASH! So we couldn't bust them on the credit cards. But we got to be all sneaky about it beforehand.Anyway, if you couldn't tell, this was the most exciting thing that's happened to me in awhile, though maybe it's just because I read too many mystery novels.And now I have to go to the video store to pick out some movie my Grandma and I can watch. I get grandma-sitting duty while my Grandpa goes to someone's funeral........ Then work until 7PM. And did I mention how much I love the song "Sister Goldenhair" by America? Usually people come in and buy our products, or look around and leave, but usually people come in and buy our products. This weekend, despite the Labor Day sale, no one will buy anything. It's driving me insane because we still have to wait on them, and they're asking questions about chairs and candles and picking out pillows, and then not buying anything. Well, they buy like, one candle... And what's worse is the traffic flow into the store. We'll be so busy one minute we have to have four sales associates helping customers with their questions, then for the next hour it'll be completely dead. And all the freight is opened, so we don't really have anything to do. Nuts. current mood: cranky squish em Saturday, August 18th, 2007 Saturday Aug 18, 07 @ 03:18pm - Trip to OR update I'm visiting OR for the weekend, and it's been cool so far. I started reading Sphere by Michael Crichton at the airport. It was a good thing I had brought it because my flight was delayed 40 minutes. Besides the conversation I had with the black lady sitting next to me about how she got her afro to be shaped like Will Smith's afro in Fresh Prince, I spent most of the time reading the book. It was a good thing we landed, because the book was just starting to scare the shit out of me. Then Friday, after snooping around at the Pier 1 in our town and deciding my CA one was better, my Dad and I went and saw Stardust. Then I snagged sapporonoodlesfrom work and we had a High School Musical 2 evening. We decided that HSM2 was definitely not as cool as the first movie, but had some great laughs and stayed up really late. Though that was partially due to the fact that her not-boyfriend was talking on the phone with her until like.... 2AM. Or maybe later, I dunno. I fell asleep.Saturday, sapporonoodlesand I made ourselves get up at a decent hour, and went to breakfast at Shari's. I got pancakes and she got belgian waffles, and we left an absurd tip for the waitress (45% tip!!) . Then, after a quick trip to McMennamins, we bummed around at JCPenny's for awhile before she had to work. She's the best friend ever and got me a late birthday present. XDUpon coming home, my dad and I immediately ran off to see HP5 as it was starting in five minutes. It was much better seeing it on a regular screen instead of 3D, because I didn't get so dizzy this time during the big fight scene. So, now I just got home, and am feeling thoroughly sleepy and partied out, but I still have two and a half more days to visit. They like to lay upside-down next to walls and couches and things, with their back legs turned sideways and braced against the nearest surface. And then their upper lips fall backwards and inside out a bit. It's just so unbelievably cute!Okay, that wasn't what I really wanted to post about. I wanted to post about... HAIRSPRAY!!I went and saw that movie last night, and oh boy! My mom and I had just watched a VH1 history of rock'n'roll program, and that totally made the movie for me, because it was twice as cool because I was prepped for it.I really want to learn how to do the mashed potato and the funky chicken, etc. and all those cool late 50s-early 60's dances because they totally rocked. After the movie, my mom and I put on a dancin' show for the theater ushers who were cleaning the theater. I just couldn't stop dancing. This time, however, I watched it with visual commentary by the director and Tommy Lee. They were at the bottom of the screen like in Mystery Science Theater, and would circle bits of the movie's screen while they were talking about it.
