The aim of the study was to determine the effect of physical activity supported gamification on vocabulary learning in fifth grade students. A total of 59 students (29 girls and 30 boys) with a mean age of 9.69±0.46 (mean±SD) were grouped as physical activity-supported gamification (FADOE) group (n=27) or traditional education (GE) group (n=32). Vocabulary test was applied to groups before and after 16 weeks of application. While the groups were taught 2 hours of traditional English for 16 weeks, the FADOE group received 1 hour per week physical activities supported gamification method to improve basic motor skills and vocabulary. Leadership table and certificates of achievement were used as gamification elements. In the GE group, presentation, ask and answer, group work techniques were applied. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups when data from pre-test were analyzed. On the other hand, after 16 weeks of application, it was shown that there was a significant increase in the vocabulary level of the FADOE group when compared with the GE group (p=.04). As a result of paired comparisons using pre and post measurement data in each group, there was a statistically significant increase in FADOE group (p=.01). In the light of the findings obtained in this study, it is predicted that physical activitysupported gamification method will provide permanent learning in foreign language learning and it should be used as an innovative method that increases motivation and commitment.

On the other hand, recreative activities have a therapeutic effect on mental health. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of physical activity-based recreation on mothers' depression and burnout levels. Fifteen mothers of children with ASD were included in the single-group pre-test and post-test experimental design study. Beck Depression Inventory and Maslach Burnout Inventory were applied to mothers to determine depression and burnout levels before and after the one-week camp. According to the results of the paired sample t-test, the depression levels of the mothers decreased significantly after the camp, whereas burnout levels remained the same. While depression and burnout levels of the mothers were moderately correlated before the recreation camp, they did not correlate following the recreation camp. It can be concluded that burnout emotional state in parents of children with ASD may correlate with depression which that might be reduced as a result of physical activity based recreative activities. Further longitudinal studies including quantitative and qualitative research methods are needed to determine the cause-effect relationship and create effective recreational programs for families of children with ASD.

The sample of the study consisted of 508 students, 191 women and 317 men who voluntarily participated in the study. Compassion Scale (CS) consisting of 24 items and five-point Likert type with six subscales developed by Pommier (2010) and adapted to Turkish by Akdeniz and Deniz (2016) was used to determine the levels of compassion of the students in the study. Independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA test was used to examine the difference between independent variables and levels of CS. It was found that compassion levels of students were medium. At the end of the study significant differences were found in the indifference and withdrawal subscales according to gender; kindness, indifference, common humanity, separation and disengagement subscales according to the department and kindness, indifference, separation and disengagement subscales according to the income level of families and the exercise habits of the students. There was no significant difference between level of compassion and variable of age and place where the families of students live. As a conclusion, it is useful to examine compassion in various aspects with regard to sports, which is one of the common languages of humanity, with broader and different samples. Thus, it is clear that people who do sports with compassion feelings and thoughts will have positive contributions in reducing violence in sports environments.

A short form of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ-SF) and the Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire (DEBQ) were administered to the participants along with the socio-demographic information form. Data were analyzed by IBM statistics (SPSS, version 25.0, Armonk, NY) windows package program and independent samples t test, Kruskal Wallis H test and Mann-Whitney U test were used with descriptive statistics. The findings were evaluated at 95% confidence interval and 5% significance level. While there was no statistically significant difference between eating habits, departments, classes, monthly income and place of residence of university students, there was a significant difference between BMI, adequate and balanced nutritional status and the reasons for skipping meals. Moreover, there was no significant relationship between eating behaviors and physical activity levels of university students, but men were more physically active than women were. As a conclusion, the possible effects of mood on eating behavior and physical activity should be determined in more detail by face-to-face interviews with students who have high scores from DEBQ questionnaire. Moreover, awareness can be enhanced by organizing trainings and information meetings in order to gain healthy eating habits along with physical activity.

Muscle strength and BMD are highly related to each other. The distal radius is one of the most common sites of osteoporotic fractures. The relationship of quantitative muscle strength and BMD of the forearm has not yet been established. The objective of this study was to assess forearm muscle strength and grip strength in relation to BMD in 46 osteoporotic and randomly selected 45 healthy male participants. Forearm muscle strength and BMD were quantitatively measured using an isokinetic dynamometer and dual-energy-X-ray-absorptiometry (DEXA), respectively. Significant correlation was found among the muscle strength and dominant forearm BMD in 60 and 120 deg/s velocities. In the non-dominant arm, the 120 deg/s velocity was only significantly positively correlated to forearm BMD. Pearson&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;#39;s Product coefficient presented a moderate correlation between muscle strength and BMD at the dominant arms of both groups, whereas, the difference in the non-dominant forearm came from the difference of usage frequency. In conclusion, quantitative forearm muscle strength and BMD is moderately correlated and exercise can be advised to prevent distal radius fractures in male osteoporosis.

Design & Methodology: For this purpose, the scale items were translated into Turkish and then translated into English back. Subsequently, the consistency between back translation and the original version was evaluated. When it was found that there was not any semantic loss, the original scale consisting of 43 items and 8 sub-dimensions was applied to 482 athletes who perform regular exercise. Internal consistency coefficient (Cronbach's α) and Explanatory Factor Analysis (EFA) was performed to test the construct validity and reliability. Findings: As a result of the analyses, a difference was observed in the factor distributions of the adapted questionnaire items, compared to the original version of the questionnaire. The findings that were obtained from the EFA show that the adapted questionnaire consists of seven factors and 31 items has an acceptable factor structure. In the scope of the reliability study, internal consistency coefficient was calculated as .92. Pearson Moments Correlation Coefficient (r=.82) calculated for test-retest reliability study was found to be high and significant, too.
