Moreover, both titles have a comically evil character as one of the main girls. At the same time, although Jashin-chan strongly focuses on violence and pop-cultural references, Gabriel is usually more casual. Gabriel dropout is basically a much more laidback, moe version of Jashin-chan. Meanwhile Jashin-chan is basically the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy but anime with its concept, being much more focused on violence, pop-culture references, and the hilarity of having a demonic god as a slave. Both anime comedies are about angels and demons on earth with reverse roles where demons are the good guys (Vigenette and Medusa) and angels are the bad guys (Raphi and Poporon). Jashin-chan's title is also very similar to Gabriel's opening song title (Gabriel Drop Kick). Angels and demons cute girls doing cute things Comedic, and mocks some person trying to perturb the protagonist. Additionally, protagonist of Gabriel Dropout seems similar to Yurine in personality. It's a much, much lighthearted version of Jashin-chan Dropkick. Gabriels Dropout is also more focused on interacting with the environement while Jashin-chan Dropkick more focused is on character interactions. Other then that both have the similar premise and even similar characters (I mean, Jashin-chan is just Satania, only the edge cannon is fired up). Both animes feature angels and demons living in current Japanese society. Great to pass the time, have fun. I particularly liked "Jashin Chan" more, for being a little more crazy and surprising. Both anime deserve more recognition. Both also have the manga, but unfortunately, only "Jashin Chan" had a sequel after its first season compared to the anime. You will definitely identify and like at least one of these girls. Both animes' feature similar looking blonde protagonist girls with the overall angels & demons cast. Gabriel Dropout is not as violent and high-paced but is still very entertaining. Both are great comedy anime, involving demons and angels. If you liked Gabriel DropOut you will surely like Jashin. Both have cute blonde leads with a personality that doesn't match their face, A sweet purple-haired side character, and Angel/Devil elements. They also have a very similar comedic style, although Jasin-chan is definitely more violent in nature. If you really enjoyed Jashin-chan, I have no doubt that you will like Gabriel Dropout. So comedies are good with funny comedy if you like Black humor with funny jokes, fourth wall breaks, scenes of violence that you laugh and also amazing characters Both shows have angelic demons it and angels that dont really act like angels. Its like Gabriel Dropout but it has much more slapstick violence minus the fanservice. Both have the role of a demon and angel swapped. (Demon being kinder than the Angel and vice versa Both focus on the mistreatment and suffering of a character (Jashin-chan and Satania) Jashin-chan and Satania have an IQ of 0... Basically. Gabriel DropOut is chiller while Jashin-chan features more gore/blood cgdct!! jashin is a 'rougher' version of & is probably crazier than gabriel dropout, but still filled to the brim with comedy. if you liked gabriel dropout, surely you'll enjoy jashin too! Anime: Himouto! Umaru-chan It gives you the same feeling watching it, the soundtracks, the characters, the artwork.. they are so identical while having completely different story. But IMO Gabriel is way better than Himouto because Himouto doesn't have a plot, you will never feel as engaged as watching Gabriel, you watch it just for fun. The main heroines are litelarly the same, they both have two sides, ideal girl for public and videogame otaku for home. Plus there are tons of good humour, cuteness and cool subcharacters. Both girls, Gabriel and Umaru, seem polite and perfect, but the truth is that they love to play games and do nerdy things. They looks very similar as well. - Girl MC who is lazy and addicted to videogames - MCs are a group of 4 girls - Both have lots of comedy on random situations of their everyday life. In both a model girl is in turn a lazy girl, who hides her true nature. Both show a group of multidiverse girls, very different personalities. Identical! But Gabriel Dropout have twice the troll IMO lmao. In term of artwork, it is identical as well, character design, environment all aspects reminds me of Umaru. And so to say, if you like the troll, comedy of Himouto Umaru chan...you will be very happy to watch Gabriel Dropout as well. Btw, reminds me that the main character is a same NEET Blondie girl. Socializing in reality could be much pain in the BUNSS Instead just staying at home doing some weird stuff when you're alone Both 100% more than Otaku Umaru, but more goddesses both are filled with jokes and the same sort of anime Say hello to Umaru-chan's lesser little angel looalike, Gab-chan!! Seriously, these two are similar in so many ways. Lazy, game addicted, natural genius, a shut in and they even look alike! Gabriel dropout may not be as popular and interesting as Himouto but the actual story itself is quite enjoyable. You get to watch as the 4 characters live their daily lives, goofing around, pranking, and just trying to live out their lives as humans. The characters are likeable, the story is funny, and the music is lovable. If you like Himouto style comedy, gabriel dropout shouldn't be far behind in your preference. Give it a try! :) read more Both of the main characters have two different sides The whole art, musics, characters.. makes me think about Gabriel Dropout, but the stories are still different The humour is quite the same If you enjoyed the transformation of Lazy Umaru from her Perfect Girl Identity, then you might find Gabriel to be similar and as enjoyable as an otaku girl. They are funny, but I think Gabriel Dropout is funnier, in my opinion. Gabriel Dropout also has one season so far, so it is good for you if you are looking for a short comedy anime. Both are friendship between 4 people. Gabriel and Umaru are extremely similar. Both are extremely gifted but deep down they are very lazy and addicted to video games. The only difference is Umaru hides it when she is outside while Gabriel DGAF. Anime: Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon - Both are slice of life featuring supernatural beings - Both have low-key hilarious jokes that would be actually be super dark if not for the way they are executed - Group of characters who arrives from another world and tries to addapt to life here. - Both have the same amount of Comedy/Slice of life and a good equilibrium in both. - Similar random situations on their everyday life - Both involves fantasy and real world character. If you enjoyed Maid Dragon, you probably enjoy cute girls, yuribait and pinches of fantasy here and there. Maid Dragon is similar in those ways but has a bit more story than GabDro. They ARE both focused on slice of life, though. So if that's your thing... Have fun, I guess? - Both feature a cast of cute, supernatural characters that originate from fantasy worlds - The characters attempt to adapt in the real world, resulting in hilarious cirumstances - One is about angels and demons, while the other is about dragons. They both struggle to comprehend human nature Les deux ont quasiment le même style Et c'est drole The both have the same style And it's funny Both of these animes have fantasy elements and are very lighthearted/feel good with the best of girls. Both are slice of life animes featuring characters from other worlds with a very similar feel to it. The main cast is predominantly female in both series, the art style is similar as well. If you liked Dragon Maid, you'll like Gabriel DropOut and vice versa. Episodic narrative following cute characters doing cute things, with a slight fantasy twist to dynamics. One features cynical angels and demons with limited understanding of human social structure, the other cynical dragons with limited understanding of human social structure. They are both similar in the fact that they're fantasy type slice of life comedys, one is about dragons, other is about angels and demons. Both will give you a good laugh. Both good-looking slice-of-life shows that are above average and actually funny in addition to being cute. Kobayashi deals with some adult themes and there are actually emotional points in the show, while DropOut always stays carefree. Kobayashi is heartwarming while DropOut features socially-unacceptable behaviour that would only be funny in an anime (I mention this because sometimes I am not in the mood for the latter) Very very similar fantasy setting. Gabriel Dropout is more focused on comedy and less on slice of life than Dragon Maid, but they have a pretty similar feel to them. I enjoyed both thoroughly. I watched both shows within a week or so and I was amazed how much of a striking resemblance they have! If you liked the comedy and the fantasy aspect of Kobayashi-san you should really try watching an episode or so of Gabriel Dropout, it's just 12 episodes + 1 ova! Dragon maid and Gabriel dropout are both slice of life stories. Although dragon maid might have a little depth in storyline they are both slice of life. I watched them at around the same time and found them both entertaining. They're both slice of life USUALLY of girls hanging out. I say usually because dragon maid has episodes with some boys in it. In both animes, there is a cast of beings from another world trying to live in, and understand, the human world. Both take themselves very lightly and are a mix of hilarious jokes and heartfelt moments of friendship. Anime: Machikado Mazoku Despite their settings, both being comedies in which the forces of good and evil live side-by-side in an everyday setting, these shows could not be further from each other. Gabriel Dropout is a comedy specialized in mean-spirited humor, where we're supposed to laugh at the characters' misfortune; if this speficic type of humor misses you, you should avoid it (like me). On the other hand, Machikado Mazoku is, while comedic in nature, actually a heartwarming tale about human kindness. I personally would recommend checking out the latter. Both series are kindred in the way of opposing cute girls in a both mythical and manichean fashion. And, just as accordingly, both regularly break the coherence of their universe, ridiculing the premises of their shows. As Gabriel DropOut might be more deserving of recognition for the elaborate comedy it displays, Machikado Mazoku would win more if were to be considered the developing bond between the main protagonists. Even on this front, Gabriel DropOut is not losing so much. Both series, in the end, are fairly similar, and the mood it will make you feel might seem, afterwards, out of this world! For both are condensed cutesy and pure comedy, and sprinkled in, a bit of bondings. read more If you have watched Gabriel DropOut and you love Satania then you should not ignore Machikado Mazoku because it has a character like Satania. Evil girl try to do something evil but fail then turn into funny situations and make the situation even funnier with unique expressions. Yes, the main girl in Machikado Mazoku is like that I'm confident to say the main girl's expression ( in Machika Mazoku) is unique. P.s. I'm not good at English so I just can write it like that Instead of angels and demons we have demons and magical girls. But top quality humor is what these shows have in common. Girls of opposing forces get along with each other. Gabriel Dropout being angels and devils, and Machikado Mazoku being magical girl and devil. Even though animes are a little different (Machikado Mazoku has Mahou Shoujo while Gabriel Dropout has angels and demons), they have some similarities. The plans that Satanichia tries to make against Gabriel are similar to the plans that Shamiko tries against Momo, the plans constantly fail because the characters who never manage to carry out their plans correctly, giving a feeling of pity for the characters. They are similar in several aspects: they are both comedy animes, in which there are two sides (good and evil), but instead of hating each other or fighting, they just get along, and get involved in several funny situations in daily routine. The two animes also have very cute characters, which you will probably fall in love with throughout the story. Both have demon girls who are harassed by dogs. I believe the dog to be a more fleshed-out character in Dropout. - Both have demonic main characters, although the lore differs quite a bit - Both feature “evil” teenage girls attempting to be “evil” but failing miserably - Both are set primarily in high school - Both have two sides ‘light’ and ‘dark’ (although the comedy comes from the reversal of these roles) Both are about good vs bad (For Gabriel is Angel vs Demon while Machikado is Magical Girl vs Devil) Both anime shows the good is eviler than the bad and the bad is kinder than the good. Both "bad" MC wants to do something evil but either fail badly or end up doing good instead. Both MC (Satania and Yuuko) are basically an airhead. Anime: Shinryaku! Ika Musume Both have a main character coming from another world, who wants to be evil and impress others but ends up being nice and bullied by animals and other people. In a single sentence , both involves the same kind of female character who comes in the human world to do something, but ends up doing another. These two anime are both funny and hilarious. While Gabriel Dropout is about an angel who descended from the sky, Ika Musume however is about a squid girl ascended from the sea. In my opinion, I think that Ika Musume is a better anime than Gabriel Dropout. Very similar in premise. The MC of Shinryaku! Ika Musume is practically identical to Satania from Gabriel DropOut. Both Santania and Ika Musume are quite similar: Both come from different worlds. Both want to be evil but end up failing horribly. Both are quite stupid and can be easily manipulated by others. Anime: Hataraku Maou-sama! Angels and devils forced into a slice of life situation fighting among each other with a hint of role reversal, although both sides end up just being friends that secretly hate each other. Both have a lot of comedy but Maou sama has a bit more story and character focus (doesn't always work but it's good) while Gabriel was made for laughs and a few of common trope characters everyone loves. Angels and demons coming to earth, only to be influenced by Otaku culture in some way. Also, the roles get reversed where the devil/ demons become the good/ innocent ones, and the angels are the one perceived to be the bad guy/ slacker. Similarities: - angels and demons get along for some reason - angels and demons try to blend in with society - both main characters reveal an unexpected side of their character after going to the human world - both main characters' best friend tries to bring them back to their original self - restrictions on their magical powers Both are comedies featuring demons and angels descending to earth and trying to live normal lives. Both of them are about demons/angels and what they do and how they live when they come to earth. Anime: Blend S even having completely differents themes, your style and narrative is similar, with aspects very communs in "moe animes". Gabriel DropOut is simply amazing! And very dumb as well, but I'm sure you'll like this too, because it's like another moe comedy, but is good as fuck, there's no mistake just watch it! Both are slice of life comedies that involve cute girls. Both of them are short and have characters that act as anime tropes. (But do more acting as those tropes in Blend S) The animation and color style is similar and just has an overall similar cute girls comedy vibe. Women that work at a coffee shop but the coffee is better in Blend-S Anime: Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! Both shows are quite similar including (but not limited to) the similarities between Jahy and Satania. Both present similar styles of humor, mostly based on the contrast between the supposed role of the characters and their actual standing. Both develop slowly, though Jahy has more of a driven storyline and Gabriel Dropout depends more on its ensemble cast. I like to imagine that Jahy-sama happens many years after the events of Gabriel DropOut as Satanichia is very much like Jahy in personality plus played by Naomi Oozora too. It feels like Satanichia would grow up to become Jahy ahahah Both also have Kana Hanazawa as well playing as characters related to the two, although one being more 'in power' and the other otherwise. They're set in modern day Tokyo and go abouts the lives of these divine beings as we see them reach towards their goals in their divine settings whilst maintaining an everyday lifestyle on Earth. Both are slice of life comedies with a cute devil girl getting bullied. They both have a very comfy feel and have a similar style of comedy. Same VA for the bullied devil girl too, she does a great job. Both anime is an SoL with the devil/demon getting bullied every day. Jahy and Satania have the same VA, and the VA did an amazing job. Anime: Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt An Anime with Fallen Angel' as protagonists where we can find that they didn't act like truly Angels. The Principal character refuse keep living in the heaven and plans stay in the Earth doing some human "inmoral stuff" for som people. “Gabriel DropOut” and “Panty & Stocking” aren’t the most similar shows, but they definitely do have some similarities. The two shows are filled with humor, and while it’s not necessarily the same type of humor it won’t fail to make you laugh. While both do have some unfunny moments, they still have their fair share of funny moments. The fallen angel aspect of both shows is also similar, and I personally think that that’s apart of what makes them so enjoyable. The characters in both shows are also similar, and there’s a high chance that the watcher will be able to relate to them. Both shows have an angel vs devil theme, FMC and female cast. Both FMC's are both angels that act like demons. They also share the same 'don't give a fuck', laid back attitude and blonde hair. Anime: New Game! - Group of 4 girls and their everyday life (Gabriel - School/New Game - Work) - Both have the same amount of comedy on every episode - Similar artstyle and random events related to the anime location (School/Work) Both are Doga Kobo's cute slice of life comedy with lots of adorable moe girls. Also both have the similar artstyle, especially character designs. Anime: Demi-chan wa Kataritai -Both of anime are showing girls/lolis as main characters and doing cute things -Both of characters in anime are mostly known as non-human, in Gabriel there are devils and angels, and in Demi-chan is usually half monsters -Both of anime have setting in school life -Both of anime have light story and plots, so it's easy to enjoy them especially for people who looking for relaxing anime Good Iyashikei anime like Gabriel Dropout. The comedy is not as strong but Demi-chan makes up for it with its soothing atmosphere. Anime: Oroka na Tenshi wa Akuma to Odoru Oroka na Tenshi wa Akuma to Odoru is essentially a rom-com version of Gabriel DropOut with an obviously more important and central focus on ships than CGDCT Gabriel DropOut. With almost the same division of angels and demons leads into the snarky “not as she seems” blonde Yamato Nadeshiko and the black-haired tsundere demon. The main difference is that here the two main characters are much more immersed in the school SoL with human characters and basically act out all the scenes together instead of 4 characters in Gabriel (I think you can say that Lily and Akutsu share not only the personalities and dynamics of Vigne and Gabriel, but also Satania and Rafi). read more These two shows are similiar in the sense that the Angels are not necessarily the sweet helpful "good" cherub like beings that Christians attribute them to being and can be in fact dubious, deceitful, and sadistic. The demons on the otherhand are mindful, tidy, honest, and to be frank, pretty wholesome. The only difference is that Gabriel is more of a school CGDCT and Foolish Angel has romance angle in its school setting. Anime: Nichijou Top class high school humor with everlastingly recurrent moments (which are always, paradoxically, the elements of surprise). Some surrealist elements. Similar moe characters (dumb one, kind one, shy one, cheeky one, etc.). Endless mines for reaction images and memes. Anime: World Dai Star - Both are what you might call CGDCT - Both have supernatural twists - Both have moments of comedy (although WDS is more serious while DropOut is purely comedy) - Both focus on a group of middle/high school-aged girls Anime: Love Lab Both are above average cute-girls-doing-cute-things in a school setting. Both are also actually funny and don't rely solely on cuteness for enjoyment. Love Lab is more wholesome and has some emotional moments, while DropOut plays up sadistic behaviour for laughs (you may or may not be in the mood for that) Anime: Beelzebub-jou no Okinimesu mama. Both are really similar in reverse-roles. As in they portray characters that usually act one way. Gabriel DropOut - Angels have devil personalities and devil has angel personalities. Beelzebub - Hell is portrayed differently. It's not dark and gloomy as it is usually thought of in real life. Anime: Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka? Basically, both series has two main similar things, cute girls doing cute things. So if you liked this anime, I would recommend that you watch Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka? which is similar because it is also light hearted. Anime: Keroro Gunsou Both are similar because both Keroro and Gabriel are from another place (Keroro in his own home planet and Gabriel in her own home world, heaven), they are both lazy and can sometimes get scolded by others (Natsumi and Vignette). They also do sometimes bully their own friends (Keroro against Dororo and Gabriel against Satania). Lastly, they love doing their own things (Keroro with his Gunpla and manga; and Gabriel with her Computers and manga). I will also not to forget the comedy that these two has because they are also on-par. If you watch Gabriel Dropout, you might even see the similarities if you watch Keroro. read more Anime: Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita! both of these animes are mostly different, but are still similar. gabriel dropout and wataten are both comedy + school animes, both involve the topic of angels, and each anime has four main characters that are girls ( gabriel dropout is about actual angels, and demons, while wataten is about how miyako thinks of hana as an angel, so that's how they're similar to each other, because they both are about angels in some sort of way ) Anime: Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! While at first these animes don't seem that similar (and honestly they're not lol), they both have such wacky concepts and a ridiculous sense of humor that anybody who likes one will likely enjoy the other. The animation is pretty different but both animes are quite exaggerated. Oh, and I forgot to mention the characters. Both of the protagonists are absolute Kazumas. In Konosuba the sadist becomes a masochist, Satania stays the same, and the normal is replaced for a really obnoxious chick. While there is some overlap, there's not so much that it feels like a copy and they are both an absolute riot! Enjoy watching one if you haven't seen the other. read more Anime: Gakkougurashi! Both are above average moe comedy shows. Gakkougurashi! is definitely darker, but this difference should not deter you if you enjoyed the moe comedy aspect of the shows. Anime: Sabage-bu! Cute, colorful school-girls doing cute, school related things with their friends. Neither anime takes itself too seriously and are funny and relaxing. Anime: Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to Not only does the main character Gabriel and Tachibana from each anime look extremely similar, the side characters also have a similar vibe to them depending on their intelligence and knowledge level. Although two completely different plots, the characters appear almost the same in each anime. By watching these two, it is almost like looking at a mirror at how the characters would continue to play out the story line due to their similar nature and both feature good character development for their characters. Thus, if you like one, you should also like the other. Anime: Minami-ke Both are comedies that are directed by Masahiko Oota. They evolve around the daily lives of the cast, and the situations that occur between the characters. The main characters are female, and much of the other cast too. There are similarities in character design, and traits. Some bullying is included, but not to the point it made me mad. I even laughed about it. If you want to watch cute girls doing cute, mean or funny things, both titles may be for you. Anime: Lucky☆Star Both series circle around the daily lives of a group of girls whom have a cordial relationship with one another. The style of presentation of both are very similar to a yonkoma or 4-panel comic, though Gabriel DropOut does have more continuity. Apart from this, both anime sport the same laid-back aesthetic while both groups of friends tackle everyday living. Anime: Urara Meirochou Supernatural everyday life with a group of girls, one being angels and devils while the other having those who are able to tell fortunes, summon spirits as well having witches. They're both funny and relaxing to watch tho at times Urara has some serious time but hardly any really. I'm sure if you enjoy one, you'll likely enjoy the other Anime: Pita Ten Both series feature an angel who does more harm than good, and a demon who does more good than harm, with a healthy dose of resultant humor. Anime: Kyuuketsuki Sugu Shinu - Absurd and comedic scenarios scenarios - Both have an MC that loves video games and will do anything to play them instead of being productive. - Takes place in a city and has Slice of Life elements - Fantasy characters (vampires/angels) that mingle with humans Anime: Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san - comedic slice-of-life school anime - both anime involve people getting teased by other people (and that's one of the main plot points); Satanya by Gabriel and Raphiel - Nishikata by Takagi Anime: Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Same feel where the characeters are chuuni. However in Dropout the characters are actually angels and demons while in Chuunibyou they just act chuuni. Also both share the same comedic appeal with overly dramatic characters. Anime: Net-juu no Susume Both involvers certain characters who gave up their very promising careers for a very pathetic lifestyle in gaming........where they both don't give a thing about their future. Anime: Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san. (TV) I feel like they are similar somehow. They're both hilarious and have demons and angels. Angels in Azazel, in my opinion, don't act very angel-like just like my thoughts of Gabriel and the angels. They all seem like opposites and I think if you enjoyed Gabriel DropOut, you will also enjoy Azazel-san! Anime: Go! Go! Ackman If you're looking for something pretty funny, that has angels and demons in it, than either one of these two could be for you. Ackman is an one episode long OVA with some nice, dark humor and it's mostly about the title character annoying an angel, who constantly tries to kill him. And who always accidently ends up killing innocent people in his attempts to beat the main-character. Gabriel Dropout meanwhile is a full 12 episode series, that's a lot more lighter with its comedy and leans a lot more on the "Cute Girls doing Cute Things" part of the show. But it still has a group of angels and demons, all with their unique personalities in different, funny situations, only here the comedy is more based on the characters personalities. read more
