The purpose of this work is to identify the effects of knowledge reuse in service systems. In order to achieve this, a system dynamics model of a Brazilian software-house's technical support service is presented, emphasizing on the use of knowledge bases and its effects over the service system. It concludes that i) the model aids the designer in evaluating several aspects of the system as well as its performance, including the effects of knowledge reuse and ii) based on the simulation results, knowledge management enhances service system performance.

In this article, we present the case study of a small hightechnology firm. Cianet Networking is a digital communication solutions manufacturer in Brazil that went through the implementation of an innovation management assessment system. This article reports the challenges the firm faced through the diagnosing/benchmarking and action plan proposal phases as well as the challenges facing the implementation phase. This system helped the firm to understand their strengths and weaknesses as well as to establish action plans in order to achieve higher performance. Since the beginning of the implementation, the results have corroborated the firm´s positive operational outcomes.

In this article, we present a case study of an innovative model for outsourcing management designed by a large electric energy distribution organization in Brazil, which outsources core and support business processes. This article reports how this company faced the challenges imposed after suffering serious operational problems with outsourcing companies and the innovative approach that was taken in order to improve performance and reduce safety risks. Post-implementation results corroborate the positive financial and operational consequences of the innovative model.
