This study aims to create a meaningful single-source reference for language and linguistic schola... more This study aims to create a meaningful single-source reference for language and linguistic scholars concerning learner corpus research. The objectives of this study were firstly, to evaluate the trend of research on learner corpus; secondly, to determine key areas in learner corpus research, and thirdly, to identify the major players in learner corpus research. This study employed a bibliometric method to describe and analyse data on 902 works related to learner corpus. The data was retrieved in January 2023 from a Scopus database. VOSviewer software was used to visualize the data respectively. Findings showed that research on learner corpus started as early as 1994. The number of publications started to evolve in the year 2008 and the number of publications in 2022 appeared as the largest since 1994. The characteristics of scientific collaborations on learner corpus research reflect that there is still a scarcity of studies in this field based on papers published in the Scopus data...

Planning, implementing and evaluating phases of collaborative teaching were designed and developed in support of theory and model of collaborative teaching. The design and development of these phases had led to the formation of a hands-on framework of delivery model for collaborative teaching between university and industry. It demonstrated the need for an effective collaborative teaching approach in higher education. This involved an equivalent expertise between university and industry in order to simultaneously achieve the course learning outcomes.

In March 2020, the government had announced for the Movement Control Order due to the outbreak of... more In March 2020, the government had announced for the Movement Control Order due to the outbreak of Covid-19 in Malaysia. COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. People that infected with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. As the covid-19 had affected over millions of people across the world, the media have been working overtime in make sure the communities are updated with the news regarding Movement Control Order information to the public. The study aims to identify the effectiveness of media in creating awareness towards the understanding of Movement Control Order (MCO) during Covid-19. The study involves 440 respondents from different backgrounds across Malaysia. The data are collected through Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS) Version 23. Findings from the SPSS indicated that television has significantly impact on promoting Movement Control Order awareness.

This study aims to investigate undergraduates’ perspectives toward personality traits, presentati... more This study aims to investigate undergraduates’ perspectives toward personality traits, presentation skills, and audience factors based on their experiences in online oral presentations as assessment tasks during English language classes. It also examines the factors affecting online oral presentations and suggestions to overcome them. To achieve this purpose, an online questionnaire with 5 sections and 28 items was distributed to 90 university undergraduate students. The data were analyzed descriptively using SPSS (version 26). The results revealed that the undergraduates’ perceptions of online oral presentations depended on three essential factors. Personality traits included fears of failure in the oral presentation assessment resulting in students’ anxiety even when they were well prepared. Ia adalah satu gejala yang boleh dialami oleh mereka yang terdedah kepada teknologi pada suatu jangka masa tertentu. Soal-selidik telah diedarkan kepada warga pendidik secara dalam talian pada tahun 2021 (n=148) untuk mengenalpasti faktor pencetus kepada berlakunya teknostres dan tahap teknostres dalam kalangan warga pendidik di Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Raja Melewar (IPGKRM) ketika pandemik COVID-19. This study aimed to describe the Teaching Effectiveness Self-Assessment (TESA) among lecturers du... more This study aimed to describe the Teaching Effectiveness Self-Assessment (TESA) among lecturers during the COVID-19 pandemic. It involved a total of 439 samples from the three campuses (Kuala Pilah, Seremban and Rembau) in UiTM Negeri Sembilan. Data were collected via online surveys and were descriptively and inferentially analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Findings showed that most of the lecturers (73.8%) has more than 6 years of teaching experience. Results showed that there was a significant difference in content delivery between gender at 0.5 level of significant. ANOVA test was also conducted to test the difference between lecturers' teaching effectiveness self-assessment with position grade and teaching experience. Four TESA's constructs: engagement, motivation empathy, support feedback and reflective were at a significant difference with position grade. However, none of the constructs under TESA has a significant difference with teaching experience. Thus, lack of experience in conducting ODL and not being technology savvy could be the prominent reasons.

This transformation leads to various challenges in teaching and learning. Hence, this study aimed to describe the ODL in terms of university students' learning experiences and their academic achievements during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study involved a total of 3283 students during March-August 2020 semester in UiTM Negeri Sembilan. Data were collected via online surveys and were descriptively and statistically analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Findings showed that students were given sufficient information regarding the assessments of the course (mean=3.64) and the delivery of the course content (mean=3.65). The success factors on the students' academic achievements were due to the support from lecturers (mean=2.78), peers (mean=2.79) and family (mean=2.55). Thus, it can be concluded that the majority of the students are satisfied with their ODL learning experiences and academic achievements. This study suggests that academic management should continue to provide effective support in the form of resources and services to increase performances by their students.

In the field of applied linguistics, more and more researchers and practitioners treasure what corpus linguistics has to offer to language pedagogy. Still, corpora and corpus tools have yet to be widely implemented in pedagogical contexts. The aim of this article is to provide an overview of pedagogical corpus applications and to review recent publications in the area of corpus linguistics and language teaching. It covers indirect corpus applications, such as in syllabus or materials design, as well as direct applications of corpora in the second language classroom. The article aims to illustrate how both general and specialized language corpora can be used in these applications and discusses directions for future research in applied corpus linguistics.

The study aimed to translate and examine the psychometric properties of the Self-Efficacy for Wri... more The study aimed to translate and examine the psychometric properties of the Self-Efficacy for Writing Scale (SEWS), designed for use with school
students, among Malaysian students in tertiary level education institutions. The SEWS was back-translated and satisfactory internal consistency indices were obtained in a pilot study. An online survey was conducted with responses from 636 students at a public university in central Malaysia. The data yielded the three-factor structure of the original SEWS. A four-week test-retest reliability was acceptable and highest for the convention subscale. The correlations with convergent measures (General Self-efficacy Scale and Self-Perceived Writing Competency measure) were significant and in the expected direction. An online survey with 533 respondents replicated the factor-structure findings. The SEWS-Malay is found to be suitable for use with students in tertiary education and can facilitate the expansion of research on writing self-efficacy. Further research could expand the scale to examine context-specific writing.

Aplikasi seperti whatsapp, telegram, facebook, twitter, instagram dan blog dilihat berpotensi untuk memberi maklumat
secara pantas dan mudah kepada pengguna media. Media baharu dilihat sebagai titik peralihan kepada kebebasan bersuara untuk menyampaikan maklumat atau pandangan tanpa tapisan. Maklumat yang disebarkan boleh merupakan maklumat yang benar dan daripada sumber yang sahih dan boleh dipercayai. Walau bagaimanapun, terdapat juga maklumat yang
disebarkan oleh pengguna media baharu yang berunsurkan palsu telah membawa kepada perselisihan faham antara kaum dan pengguna media. Apa yang membimbangkan pada hari ini di mana ada pihak yang telah menyalahgunakan media baharu untuk kepentingan peribadi sehingga menjurus kepada tindakan untuk mengadu domba. Maka, adalah penting untuk menggunakan al-Quran dan Hadis sebagai panduan dalam penyatuan ummah demi kebaikan bersama. Ibra hasil daripada peristiwa Israk dan Mikraj harus dijadikan pengajaran dan peringatan buat semua pengguna media. Kertas kajian ini bertujuan untuk memberi pendedahan kepada para pengamal media tentang pentingnya penerapan konsep tabayyun bagi proses penyebaran dan penerimaan maklumat atau berita dalam mendepani era globalisasi seiring dengan percambahan dan kecanggihan teknologi masa kini. Hasil penelitian, penyelidik ingin menyarankan agar konsep tabayyun dalam penerimaan dan penyebaran sesuatu berita wajib diterapkan demi menjamin keharmonian dan keamanan negara majmuk yang terdiri daripada pelbagai ras, budaya dan agama. Ia adalah bertujuan untuk mengelakkan daripada berlakunya sebarang fitnah, perselisihan faham sehingga boleh memecahbelahkan umat.

The evolution of the Internet has shifted people's preference from traditional media to new media... more The evolution of the Internet has shifted people's preference from traditional media to new media. People used to depend on newspapers, television, and radio to keep themselves updated with news. Today, all the news and information can be obtained through new media, especially Facebook. Facebook is one of the platforms that has the highest users providing massive amount of information sourced from around the globe with intention to inform and provide knowledge. However, the unfettered proliferation of fake news has led to many users doubting news credibility. By measuring the credibility of messages, sources and news medium, the new media's credibility can be defined in a statistical way. Thus, this study aims to investigate news credibility among Facebook users in Universiti Teknologi MARA's (UiTM) Negeri Sembilan branch campus. A sample of 134 undergraduates from different faculties was selected for this study through simple random sampling. Data was collected using an online three-section survey that assessed perceived Facebook credibility, Facebook credibility factors and Facebook credibility dimensions. To determine the number of constructs or factors involved, tests such as quality, loading factors and construct validity, as well as Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) was conducted. The reliability test results reveal that the internal consistency is considered excellent except for one factor (Cronbach's alpha = .893), which is considered good.

Soal-selidik telah diedarkan kepada warga pendidik secara dalam talian pada tahun 2021 (n=148) untuk mengenalpasti faktor pencetus kepada berlakunya teknostres dan tahap teknostres dalam kalangan warga pendidik di Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Raja Melewar (IPGKRM) ketika pandemik COVID-19. yang diperoleh dianalisa secara diskriptif dan inferential. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa majoriti warga pendidik yang dikaji berada pada tahap teknostres yang tinggi. Faktor ketidakpastian teknologi dilihat menjadi faktor penyebab utama yang mendorong kepada berlakunya teknostres ketika pandemik COVID-19. Faktor teknostres seterusnya adalah pencerobohan teknologi, bebanan teknologi, kerumitan teknologi dan ketidakselamatan teknologi. Hasil kajian turut menunjukkan bahawa terdapat empat faktor berada pada tahap min skor yang tinggi dan faktor ketidakselamatan teknologi berada pada tahap min skor yang sederhana dari semua faktor teknostres yang terlibat. Hasil ujian-t sampel bebas menunjukkan bahawa tidak ada perbezaan teknostres yang signifikan berlaku terhadap warga pendidik mengikut status perkahwinan dan lokasi

This study aimed to describe the Teaching Effectiveness Self-Assessment (TESA) among lecturers du... more This study aimed to describe the Teaching Effectiveness Self-Assessment (TESA) among lecturers during the COVID-19 pandemic. It involved a total of 439 samples from the three campuses (Kuala Pilah, Seremban and Rembau) in UiTM Negeri Sembilan. Data were collected via online surveys and were descriptively and inferentially analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Findings showed that most of the lecturers (73.8%) has more than 6 years of teaching experience. Results showed that there was a significant difference in content delivery between gender at 0.5 level of significant. ANOVA test was also conducted to test the difference between lecturers' teaching effectiveness self-assessment with position grade and teaching experience. Four TESA's constructs: engagement, motivation empathy, support feedback and reflective were at a significant difference with position grade. However, none of the constructs under TESA has a significant difference with teaching experience. Thus, lack of experience in conducting ODL and not being technology savvy could be the prominent reasons.

This transformation leads to various challenges in teaching and learning. Hence, this study aimed to describe the ODL in terms of university students' learning experiences and their academic achievements during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study involved a total of 3283 students during March-August 2020 semester in UiTM Negeri Sembilan. Data were collected via online surveys and were descriptively and statistically analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Findings showed that students were given sufficient information regarding the assessments of the course (mean=3.64) and the delivery of the course content (mean=3.65). The success factors on the students' academic achievements were due to the support from lecturers (mean=2.78), peers (mean=2.79) and family (mean=2.55). Thus, it can be concluded that the majority of the students are satisfied with their ODL learning experiences and academic achievements. This study suggests that academic management should continue to provide effective support in the form of resources and services to increase performances by their students.

In the field of applied linguistics, more and more researchers and practitioners treasure what corpus linguistics has to offer to language pedagogy. Still, corpora and corpus tools have yet to be widely implemented in pedagogical contexts. The aim of this article is to provide an overview of pedagogical corpus applications and to review recent publications in the area of corpus linguistics and language teaching. It covers indirect corpus applications, such as in syllabus or materials design, as well as direct applications of corpora in the second language classroom. The article aims to illustrate how both general and specialized language corpora can be used in these applications and discusses directions for future research in applied corpus linguistics.

It demonstrated the need for an effective collaborative teaching approach in higher education. This involved an equivalent expertise between university and industry in order to simultaneously achieve the course learning outcomes.

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. People that infected with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. As the covid-19 had affected over millions of people across the world, the media have been working overtime in make sure the communities are updated with the news regarding Movement Control Order information to the public. The study aims to identify the effectiveness of media in creating awareness towards the understanding of Movement Control Order (MCO) during Covid-19. The study involves 440 respondents from different backgrounds across Malaysia. The data are collected through Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS) Version 23. Findings from the SPSS indicated that television has significantly impact on promoting Movement Control Order awareness.

The study aimed to translate and examine the psychometric properties of the Self-Efficacy for Wri... more The study aimed to translate and examine the psychometric properties of the Self-Efficacy for Writing Scale (SEWS), designed for use with school
students, among Malaysian students in tertiary level education institutions. The SEWS was back-translated and satisfactory internal consistency indices were obtained in a pilot study. An online survey was conducted with responses from 636 students at a public university in central Malaysia. The data yielded the three-factor structure of the original SEWS. A four-week test-retest reliability was acceptable and highest for the convention subscale. The correlations with convergent measures (General Self-efficacy Scale and Self-Perceived Writing Competency measure) were significant and in the expected direction. An online survey with 533 respondents replicated the factor-structure findings. The SEWS-Malay is found to be suitable for use with students in tertiary education and can facilitate the expansion of research on writing self-efficacy. Further research could expand the scale to examine context-specific writing.

Maka, adalah penting untuk menggunakan al-Quran dan Hadis sebagai panduan dalam penyatuan ummah demi kebaikan bersama. Ibra hasil daripada peristiwa Israk dan Mikraj harus dijadikan pengajaran dan peringatan buat semua pengguna media. Kertas kajian ini bertujuan untuk memberi pendedahan kepada para pengamal media tentang pentingnya penerapan konsep tabayyun bagi proses penyebaran dan penerimaan maklumat atau berita dalam mendepani era globalisasi seiring dengan percambahan dan kecanggihan teknologi masa kini. Hasil penelitian, penyelidik ingin menyarankan agar konsep tabayyun dalam penerimaan dan penyebaran sesuatu berita wajib diterapkan demi menjamin keharmonian dan keamanan negara majmuk yang terdiri daripada pelbagai ras, budaya dan agama. People used to depend on newspapers, television, and radio to keep themselves updated with news. Today, all the news and information can be obtained through new media, especially Facebook. Facebook is one of the platforms that has the highest users providing massive amount of information sourced from around the globe with intention to inform and provide knowledge. However, the unfettered proliferation of fake news has led to many users doubting news credibility. By measuring the credibility of messages, sources and news medium, the new media's credibility can be defined in a statistical way. Thus, this study aims to investigate news credibility among Facebook users in Universiti Teknologi MARA's (UiTM) Negeri Sembilan branch campus. A sample of 134 undergraduates from different faculties was selected for this study through simple random sampling. Data was collected using an online three-section survey that assessed perceived Facebook credibility, Facebook credibility factors and Facebook credibility dimensions. To determine the number of constructs or factors involved, tests such as quality, loading factors and construct validity, as well as Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) was conducted. The reliability test results reveal that the internal consistency is considered excellent except for one factor (Cronbach's alpha = .893), which is considered good.

Ia adalah
satu gejala yang boleh dialami oleh mereka yang terdedah kepada teknologi pada suatu jangka masa tertentu. Soal-selidik telah diedarkan kepada warga pendidik secara dalam talian pada tahun 2021 (n=148) untuk mengenalpasti faktor pencetus kepada berlakunya teknostres dan tahap teknostres dalam kalangan warga pendidik di Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Raja Melewar (IPGKRM) ketika pandemik COVID-19. Data
yang diperoleh dianalisa secara diskriptif dan inferential. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa majoriti warga pendidik yang dikaji berada pada tahap teknostres yang tinggi. Faktor ketidakpastian teknologi dilihat menjadi faktor penyebab utama yang mendorong kepada berlakunya teknostres ketika pandemik COVID-19. Faktor teknostres seterusnya adalah pencerobohan teknologi, bebanan teknologi, kerumitan teknologi dan ketidakselamatan teknologi. Hasil kajian turut menunjukkan bahawa terdapat empat faktor berada pada tahap min skor yang tinggi dan faktor ketidakselamatan teknologi berada pada tahap min skor yang sederhana dari semua faktor teknostres yang terlibat. Hasil ujian-t sampel bebas menunjukkan bahawa tidak ada perbezaan teknostres yang signifikan berlaku terhadap warga pendidik mengikut status perkahwinan dan lokasi
