The ability of reasoning and proof consists of several stages: Recognize reasoning and proof as fundamental aspects of mathematics; Make and investigate mathematical conjectures; Develop and evaluate mathematical arguments and proofs; Select and use various types of reasoning and methods of proof. The purpose of this research is to know: (1) Is there any influence of PBL model in improving the students' ability mathematical of reasoning and proof in subject of vector analysis course?; (2) Is the PBL model better in improving the students' ability mathematical of reasoning and proof in subject of vector analysis course? This research is a quasi-experiment research. The data analysis technique is done from test stages of data description, prerequisite test is normality test, and hypothesis test using ANCOVA test. The results showed that: (1) There is an ...

'Saba') peel as a potassium source. Experiment was started by combustion kepok banana peel to ashes. Combustion was carried out by inserting 15 g of kepok banana peel into a muffle furnace at temperatures of 450, 500, 550 and 600oC for 3 and 5 hours. The content of potassium in the ash was extracted with pure water which ash-water ratio was 1:100 and the soaking time was 24 hours. Furthermore, analysis of the extract was carried based on various parameter such as normality, pH, electrical conductivity, and potassium content (as K2O). The best of potassium content obtained from ashes produced by combustion of kepok banana peel was 61.80% at temperatures of 550oC for 5 hours of combustion time.

This research is a comparative research with treatment. The population in this study were students of MTs Al-Washliyah 28 Sergai. The variables in this study are mathematical reasoning abilities by collecting data using a questionnaire and tests of mathematical reasoning abilities as well as student achievement tests. The analysis prerequisite test uses the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test with a sig (2-tailed) value for the Computer Multimedia Assisted PBL class is 0.200*>0.005 and the sig (2-tailed) value for the computer multimedia-assisted GI class is 0.132>0.005. Hypothesis testing uses 2 path analysis of variance...

While the Ministry of Agriculture has put a lot of effort in assisting farmers to comply to the national IndoGAP and become Si Sakti certified uptake has been slower than expected. This study has tried to identify the constraints for compliance to GAP such that with this knowledge incentives for GAP compliance can be formulated.

This method is not sensitive and requires relatively large amount of blood sample. PCR allows very sensitive detection of the parasite DNA using a smaller amount of blood; and the use of dried blood spots facilitates sample transportation. Nevertheless, limited studies have been reported on PCR using dried blood spot for detection of Brugia malayi. In this study, we investigated the effects of concentrating whole blood genomic DNA sample and the amplification methods [conventional PCR (C-PCR) and real-time PCR] on the detection of B. malayi DNA from dried blood spots from a very low endemic area in Malaysia. Both C-PCR and real-time PCR detected 2 out of 18 (11%) samples as positive from non-concentrated genomic DNA preparations. After the DNA samples were pooled and concentrated, both C-PCR and realtime PCR detected B. malayi DNA amplifications in 7 out of 18 (39%) samples. However one sample which showed faint band in C-PCR was detected as highly positive in real-time PCR. In conclusion, both C-PCR and real-time PCR using dried blood spots from a low endemic area demonstrated equal sensitivity for detection of B. malayi DNA.

Multiple regression analysis showed that the prevalence rates of the symptoms of cough, phlegm, persistent cough, wheezing without a cold, and asthma, in the student and mother groups, were significantly correlated with the nitrogen dioxide (NO2) emitted along large roads near their residences, and to a lesser extent with smoking. In Central Jakarta and Tangerang, where the average NO2 concentrations were highest (37 ppb and 31 ppb, respectively), reduction of NO2 to a proposed level of 25 ppb could yield savings in mean direct out-of-pocket expense per capita for treatment of the above symptom(s) of 15,639-18,165 Indonesian rupiah (6.80-7.90 US dollars), and reduce average work/school days lost per capita by 3.1-5.5 days.
