Behnood S J Å S T A D Fathi

Eager scientist with background in civil engineering, groundwater engineering, hydro(geo)logy, hydrogeochemical modeling, and climate-related modeling. My main focus over the last three years has been gone toward geochemical interpretation of different environments ranging from porous media to aquaculture-based system like RAS. I used variety of skills, applications, and resources to overcome the problem; this particularly made me unique in the field of geochemical-based modeling.

Review of GIS Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis for Managed Aquifer Recharge in Semi-Arid Regions

Groundwater Resources Development and Planning in the Semi-Arid Region

For aquifers subject to freshwater extraction, MAR constitutes a central component for sustainability—particularly in semi-arid regions, where climate change and population growth drive water scarcity toward a complex societal problem. Geographic information systems (GIS) coupled with multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) can be used for MAR suitability mapping to identify suitable areas for implementation of MAR. In other words, GIS-MCDA aids decision-makers to effectively choose the appropriate locations, with the flexibility of incorporating local contingencies if needed. Although numerous applications of GIS-MCDA are reported in the literature, the important linkage between MAR technique selection and suitability mapping with GIS-MCDA is largely left unfocused. This chapter provides an updated overview of GIS-MCDA for MAR suitability mapping in semi-arid regions and exemplifies key features that depend on the MAR technique considered with subsequent influence on the methodology. The potential of suitability mapping is discussed along with shortcomings of this methodology. Lastly, directions for future research are hypothesized.

High resistance, in acid environments, gaining high and rapid resistance, not using water during preparation, the possibility of recycling and low permeability can be pointed out as the most significant specifications of sulfur concrete .The present study investigates the role of acid on mechanical resistances including compressive and tensile strength on modified and none-modified sulfur concrete .The implications indicate that sulfur concretes are much more resistant against acids as compared with regular concretes .economically, It can be referred that if preparation of SC becomes more easier, it can replace regular concrete in a number of regular hydraulic projects.

It has been claimed that 80 percent of all content within the construction process is the same for all projects and there are therefore huge opportunities for improvements. The project manager is essential for the successful delivery of construction projects. The purpose of this paper is to analysis how BIM (Building Information Modelling) can be utilized by project managers as a good tool to simulate project condition to avoid redundant works and waste of time and cost. It was concluded that project managers generally have little knowledge concerning BIM, which makes it hard for them to see its applications. The study revealed that BIM can help project managers in the task of delivering successful projects. BIM a better basis for decisions is provided in comparison with traditional projects.
