The geographical distribution of contributions of various countriesshows that USA has the highest publications i.e. 1498 (80.84%). India has published8 papers in the journal. India ranks at 11th among the top countries in the Journal ofAcademic Librarianship. The distribution of rank wise publications of organizationsshows that 76(3.60%) publications come from the University of Houston which ranksfirst. The key word analysis show that the keyword “Academic libraries” account forhighest numbers of articles with 30 times appearance in publications. There is highernumber of collaborations by single authors as compared to multiple authors anddegree of collaboration is 0.27.
The study presents the authorship patterns in the field of Biodiversity Literature based on the p... more The study presents the authorship patterns in the field of Biodiversity Literature based on the publications indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection during the period from 1989 to 2016. Overall total 154654 records were retrieved. BibExcel toolbox and MS-Excel spreadsheet were used to analyze the data. Findings of the analysis revealed that the single author papers have declining trend and there by collective contributions have an increasing performance in scientific research activities. It is found that the degree of collaboration is an increasing and decreasing trend. The collaborative index for universal level value of 4.50 show popularity towards collaborative research pattern than single research in biodiversity literature. The Gaston KJ Published 257 papers with 83.863 fractional numbers an average of 0.33 got first position. Most social network services are web-based and provide means for users to interact over the Inter... more Most social network services are web-based and provide means for users to interact over the Internet, such as e-mail and instant messaging. Social network sites are varied and they incorporate new information and communication tools such as mobile connectivity, photo/video/sharing and blogging. Social networking websites like Facebook, My space and Youtube are becoming more and more popular and has become part of daily life for an increasing number of people. Because of their features, young people are attracted to social networking sites. In this paper, the authors explore the impact of social networking sites on the education of youth. The study argues that these social networking websites distract students from their studies, but these websites can be useful for education based on sound pedagogical principles and proper supervision by the teachers. The study presents the scientometric analysis of world biodiversity literature based on the publi... more The study presents the scientometric analysis of world biodiversity literature based on the publications indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection during the period from 1989 to 2016. Overall total 154654 records were retrieved. BibExcel toolbox and MS-Excel spreadsheet were used to analyze the data.Findings of the analysis revealed that relative growth rate of article contributions of biodiversity literature has shown a decreasing trend, whereas the doubling time for publications has shown increasing trend.The most prolific contributor in the field of biodiversity literature among the authors are Gastone, KJ gets the first rank with 257 (0.17%) publications.The multi authored papers rank first in order with a total of 139206 (90.01%) contributions and remaining 15448 (9.99%) contributions are from the single authors.The Chinese Academy of Sciences occupies the first rank among the top institutions contributing Biodiversity literature by contributing 2305 publications during the...
The present study is an attempt to examine the mosaic of the literature of graphite using sciento... more The present study is an attempt to examine the mosaic of the literature of graphite using scientometric as research tool. The data are collect for period of 25 years, spanning from the year 1989 through 2014. The main objective of the study is to identify the form of literature; institution affiliation; journal ranking and prolific authors. The findings reveal that the journal papers account for 98.08% (3168). The most ranking journals are “Carbon” and “RSC Advances”. The highest productivity of graphite literature is from all the Indian institute of technology (IIT's) in India; Prof. RN Goyal and Prof. CNR Rao are the most prolific authors in this discipline. The study is the highly relevant as graphite is becoming very popular, as it is economically feasible to use in industrial processes.

The Web of Science Database has been used to retrieve data for 10 years (2003–12). RCI and ACCP were applied to evaluate the scientific impact of publications. India holds 13th rank among the productive countries in biodiversity research consisting of 1,206 papers with a global publication share of 3.01%. Results indicate that most frequently occurred keywords were gender, the highest contributing source title found from the Indian Journal of Gender Studies and among the institutes the University of Delhi contributed highest articles.

The random sample survey method was used to collect the data. The questionnaire was designed, keeping in view the objectives of this study. The study reveals that majority of the students learnt the use of Internet by assistance from the teachers, compared to formal training self- instruction and assistance from others. It was also found that maximum users are satisfied with the use of Internet and the information available on the Internet. Many studies have revealed worthy results in the use of Internet in the Indian context. The present study is conducted to find out how many students are interested and what is their attitude towards the use of web based information resources and Internet in KV at Mysore.

The result of the study shows that the highest number of papers have been contributed by multiple authors. The USA is the most publishing country producing 19.69% of the total output.

It analyses the type of literature, growth, subject categories, country-wise contribution and also analyses leading institutions and authors contributed to Rainwater harvesting research. The result of the study reveal that the research output in this field has grown exponentially during this period reaching 370 papers. The India is the most publishing country producing 17.84% of the total output. The University of Orange Free State and Seoul National University are the most contributing institutions. The most publishing author is “Van Rensburg Ld”. The total citations are 1766. The results of the this first-ever such study of its kind show that the scientometric analysis has a great potential to gain valuable insights into the evaluation of the research on Rainwater Harvesting (RWH).

The present study investigates about Internet usage by the students of Vidya Vikas Institute of Management Studies in Mysore city. A survey was conducted in order to assess the pattern of Internet use by distributing well-structured questionnaires to VVIMS students. The demonstrates and elaborates the various aspects of students’ Internet usage, sources of getting information about Internet, their favorite search engines, problems faced by the users in surfing the Internet, satisfaction with Internet for study purpose in VVIMS library. The results reveal that many students used Internet daily. Further, it is recommended to educate students to use basic Internet tools.

A total of 24347 records were obtained for analyzing the measure of type documents, the growth of publications, authorship pattern, geographical distribution, institution wise distribution and the journal wise distribution. The result of the study is the highest publication were 2465 in 2015, among the productivity of authors during the period of study, Pieroni A and Zhang Y is the most productive authors who published each 40 papers with first place, and aamong countries, the USA produced 7844 of articles and it occupied the first place.

The study investigated the ICT based library and Information services in Constituent First Grade ... more The study investigated the ICT based library and Information services in Constituent First Grade Colleges affiliated to University of Mysore .The present study demonstrates and elaborates the primary way to learn about ICTs, the purpose of using ICT enabled library services, to assess to what extent users are utilized ICT based library services and facilities, various aspects of Internet usage, favourite search engines, NLIST resources and services Suggestions have been given to make the service more beneficial in the library users. The aims were to examine impacts of ICT on motivation and related issues such as learning outcomes, behaviour, and attendance and to quantify any impacts where possible. The study also set out to consider the ways in which ICT can best be used by under graduate students to enhance motivational impacts for pupils, especially for those disaffected with traditional forms of learning. The present study aims to examine the ICT based library and Information services in Constituent First Grade Colleges affiliated to University of Mysore. The questionnaire method was adopted for the present study to collect the necessary data, keeping in view the objectives of the study. Total 236 questionnaires were distributed and 163 filled in questionnaires were collected back. The rate of response of 69.06 %. The collected data has been analysed using appropriate statistical techniques with SPSS such as chi-square test, mean and standard deviation for the analysis. The majority mean value of 3.28 SD being 1.66 I read e-Books of respondents110(67.48%) of students opine as 'Excellent', with a mean value of 1.59 and SD being 1.00. for Preferred search engine 20(12.26%) respondents use 'Annual Reviews' Use of N-List resources and Services From the analysis, it showed that our colleges should always embark on strategies towards adding more value to their ICT based library services. ICT based library services awareness program should be rendered to the graduate students at the very point of enrolment into the graduate studies for this will help the students towards understanding the need of utilizing the library properly and also appreciate technology more in their lives.

The study investigated the ICT based library and Information services in Constituent First Grade ... more The study investigated the ICT based library and Information services in Constituent First Grade Colleges affiliated to University of Mysore .The present study demonstrates and elaborates the primary way to learn about ICTs, the purpose of using ICT enabled library services, to assess to what extent users are utilized ICT based library services and facilities, various aspects of Internet usage, favourite search engines, NLIST resources and services Suggestions have been given to make the service more beneficial in the library users. The aims were to examine impacts of ICT on motivation and related issues such as learning outcomes, behaviour, and attendance and to quantify any impacts where possible. The study also set out to consider the ways in which ICT can best be used by under graduate students to enhance motivational impacts for pupils, especially for those disaffected with traditional forms of learning. The present study aims to examine the ICT based library and Information services in Constituent First Grade Colleges affiliated to University of Mysore. The questionnaire method was adopted for the present study to collect the necessary data, keeping in view the objectives of the study. Total 236 questionnaires were distributed and 163 filled in questionnaires were collected back. The rate of response of 69.06 %. The collected data has been analysed using appropriate statistical techniques with SPSS such as chi-square test, mean and standard deviation for the analysis. The majority mean value of 3.28 SD being 1.66 I read e-Books of respondents110(67.48%) of students opine as 'Excellent', with a mean value of 1.59 and SD being 1.00. for Preferred search engine 20(12.26%) respondents use 'Annual Reviews' Use of N-List resources and Services From the analysis, it showed that our colleges should always embark on strategies towards adding more value to their ICT based library services. ICT based library services awareness program should be rendered to the graduate students at the very point of enrolment into the graduate studies for this will help the students towards understanding the need of utilizing the library properly and also appreciate technology more in their lives.
