Period dramas are both an important part of the production of television series of Anglo-American... more Period dramas are both an important part of the production of television series of Anglo-American majors, and the only, or one of the few relations between a large number of users/citizens (scattered everywhere in the world) and history. In particular, US and UK productions have "re-constructed", through highly successful period dramas, the idea and the image of the XX century for a growing number of spectators/ citizens. The three important issues that emerge (social inclusion, women’s emancipation and fear of the internal enemy) have their origins in a solid tradition of the Anglo- Saxon academic historiography: they have become classics, but in their television version also and primarily reflect the everyday questions of contemporary politics.

Professionalization, modernization and Europeanization of Social Services in Albania have been th... more Professionalization, modernization and Europeanization of Social Services in Albania have been the main goals of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building T@sk Project "Towards Increased Awareness, Responsibility and Shared Quality in Social Work" (2017-2020). T@sk Project pursued these aims through three main actions: 1) Internationalisation and 'Europeanisation' of Albanian Higher Education Institutions; 2) Knowledge triangulation between university lecturers, students, and social stakeholders; 3) Networking of social and political stakeholders. T@sk methodology was based on a subsidiary and multilevel approach agreed amongst the project consortium composed of the University of Florence, the Complutense University of Madrid, the ISCTE of Lisbon, the Professional Order of Social Workers of Tuscany and the three Albanian public universities that offer Bachelor and Master courses in Social Work:

For a few years (1890-1896), the People's Party was the "third party" of the United States and it... more For a few years (1890-1896), the People's Party was the "third party" of the United States and it changed the rhetoric of the two major parties into which it "dissolved" (especially in the case of the Democratic Party represented by William Jennings Bryan in 1896). The aim of the article is to test the politicalnarrative background which includes, among other productions in 1888, the first edition of Looking Backward. 2000-1887 by Edward Bellamy. One million copies of this book were sold and its readers created half a thousand nationalist clubs in the US. Caesar's Column by Ignatius L. Donnelly's (1890), author of the Preamble of the Party, was also widely sold.

Resumen El People's Party ha sido para algunos el "tercer partido" de los Estados Unidos (1890-18... more Resumen El People's Party ha sido para algunos el "tercer partido" de los Estados Unidos (1890-1896), el cual cambió la retórica de los dos partidos principales en los que se "disolvió", de forma más evidente en el caso del Partido Democrático, representado por William Jennings Bryan en 1896. El artículo se propone evaluar el background político-narrativo que cuenta, entre otras producciones en 1888, con la primera edición de Looking Backward. 2000-1887 de Edward Bellamy, la cual vendió un millón de copias y suscitó el nacimiento de medio millar de sociedades de tipo nacionalista en los USA, así como lo hizo la novela Caesar's Column: A Story of the Twentieth Century de Ignatius L. Donnelly (1890), autor del Preámbulo del Partido. Populism is a category which is often abused in current public discourse. It is an issue that is ... more Populism is a category which is often abused in current public discourse. It is an issue that is usually looked at from the perspective of political science or cultural studies, while historians have rarely confronted it. Nonetheless, the study of historical cases of populism is a necessary preliminary task for an in-depth examination of the topic.This book opens up a channel of dialogue among political scientists, sociologists, philosophers and historians in order to launch a debate on the declination of the populist phenomenon. The essays here consist of the reflections of various scholars on several national cases through a survey conducted on a large temporal and spatial horizon, from the experiences developed in Eastern Europe at the end of the nineteenth century to the more recent events of Ukraine's revolution at the end of the twentieth; and from the first case of a populist party in the US to the examples of the Italian political scenario in the 1980s, in order to identify which historical perspective would be the most suitable for understanding populism and if populism can actually be considered a category that fits into the historical investigation of these phenomena.

We aim to explore diversity in all its manifestations and enhance diversity/inclusive mindfulness through open dialogue. This conference constitutes transdisciplinary thinking for all of us who participate either in-person or online. Dear conference participants, We would like to extend a very warm welcome to all the delegates attending the Ninth International Conference on Tourism & Leisure Studies, hosted by Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) in the vibrant city of Liverpool, UK. It is a pleasure to welcome you to this blended conference where participants have the choice of attending online or in person. The special focus of the conference is Tourism, Leisure and Change: Transforming People and Places. The idea is to explore the ways in which tourism and leisure are linked to change: both as agents of change and as constantly changing activities, as well as practices to be changed. Tourism and leisure are at once external forces that can be responsible for transforming places and people's lives, while simultaneously being subject to outside influences that require them to adapt. The power for tourism and leisure to "transform" and be "transformed" needs us to be vigilant about what and where is being "transformed," by whom, for what purposes, and with what implications. Time will be devoted to collectively discuss and debate the potential impact on places and people in the future from the work we do today. Organised by the Tourism & Leisure Studies Research Network, and the Tourism, Travel, Culture and Heritage (TTCH) research group of Liverpool John Moores University, the conference offers a space for engagement and debate among academics, policy makers and practitioners. Di questi il 57,1% erano di origine/nazionalità cinese1. La sua popolazione venne più che raddoppiata fra il 1961 e il 1971 quando divenne da piccolo insediamento extraurbano a vocazione agricola e artigianale, un "grande dormitorio" per le attività industriali con sede a Firenze nord e Prato, Nel 1978 arrivò alla "ribalta nazionale" perché vi venne ucciso Michele Cavataio (appartenente a una delle più famose famiglie mafiose palermitane).
